I don't know why it's advertised as "for boys", my daughter LOVED this as soon as it came out of the box. She did mention once that she wished it was pink :), but then I pointed out that it's an alligator which are green and she was fine with it. I also want to point out that she's 4 and still was able to control it and have a lot of fun with it, so the control really is easy. This thing does not get stuck and is really zippy. Everyone who played with it loved it, including the adults (and myself). The big wheels make it so that it flips every which way but always keeps contact with the ground and can keep running. Only thing that seems to stop it is a run in with unicorn hair that tangles up the wheels. If tangles happen, the small screws holding the wheels in match the ones holding the batteries, so the included screwdriver makes it a quick fix. I'm impressed with the battery life. It comes with two batteries and a USB charger which charges to full pretty quickly, so you never really end up with a dead battery. CONS: Given that you have to change the batteries regularly, I really wish the battery compartment wasn't held by a tiny screw. Having to unscrew it and screw it every battery change is not only a pain but it's certainly going to strip over time. A simple push latch would have been much better. It definitely IS waterproof, but the remote control is definitely NOT, so be careful with fun in the pool or bath. Overall, a great purchase that will definitely deliver with fun many times. It has great re-use value, which is awesome.

This amphibious RC car is super fun to play with, with some imagination I am sure it could provide hours of fun for adults and children at the pool, beach, stream etc. On land the car performs super well, it is extremely responsive and fast (perhaps even too much - it takes a bit of practice to be able to control it well). Once it goes into water it does slow down considerably, but it is still able to navigate the water impressively. However, distinguishing its orientation from afar can be a challenge, especially when it's flipped over—requiring focused attention to navigate effectively. The design is cool, the performance is good and all round it seems good quality for money. The remote control feels a bit on the lighter/cheap side, so I can't say it would be robust if children drop it on the ground, but the car itself feels pretty sturdy! I definitely recommend this as a fairly low cost and fun toy to bring on vacation!

A cheap component has rendered this product essentially useless. See the image. I got one use out of the cable. If you can't charge a rechargeable battery, the product utility is completely undermined. I like the car itself. It's very basic, as is the controller, i.e. perfect for younger kids who aren't yet sufficiently skilled to fully manipulate a more functional car. I haven't tried it in water yet, but it handles other surfaces reasonably well. But if I can't recharge it...

This is a really fun remote control car. What makes it stand out is the fact that it can operate on both dryland as well as in the water. It's really fun to take this thing to the park and just play around on the asphalt and then throw it into the water and it basically acts like a boat. The colors and the light of lights really add to the fun. The remote control works pretty well and it was very easy to maneuver the vehicle without any trouble at all. Even a young kid could operate this toy without much trouble. I'm really surprised at the price point. I'm very impressed that they could sell a toy like this this. Overall, I'm very happy with this toy and have no complaints.

my kids have been having a blast with this. the Car came with 2 rechargeable batteries, but the remote still takes 2 AAs. They have also been driving it inside the house, in the rain, through ponds, and even in the bath tub with a few inches of water in it. so far it's working just fine.

My son has really enjoyed this car. It is fast and durable (can't confirm if it'll actually drive on water because we haven't been brave enough to try as I'm not sure that I trust it's waterproofness, but it wouldn't surprise me if it does actually drive across water as it's so quick and the wheels are proportioned right for it). It comes with two rechargeable batteries, which is nice because one can be charging while the other is in use. My biggest complaint with it so far is that you have to use the little screwdriver to unscrew the two little bolts in order to change the battery. It's not hard to do, but it's not a quick pop off, swap out, and now you are playing again thing. It takes a couple of minutes to get it out and get the battery swapped each time. The charge lasts an ok amount of time for how zippy the vehicle is, but not super long. So for the past few days my son has asked at least a couple of times each day for me to swap it out. Changing the batteries is a simple enough process that my 7 year old could probably do it, but getting the screws out would probably be hard and frustrating for him. Overall, great toy, just know you'll spend time screwing and unscrewing to swap out the batteries.

This rc car was super fun. My kid had tons of fun playing with it in the bathtub and will have lots of fun playing with it when I get the pool out this summer. It drove over grass, carpet, asphalt, water, and small rock. The lights in the wheels were really cool. The run time wasn't too long but with 2 batteries it lasted long enough for my 7 year old. The auto mode was fun to watch. It was slightly tricky driving it around as I kept spinning it and not knowing witch end was the front and if it would go forward or back. It could of just been me and my rc car driving skills. Easy to turn on. Easy to get water to drain from inside car. Easy to charge and change battery.
