  • Very good for the current price
Color: Silver
At the current price this thing is actually pretty good. It comes fully assembled and setup only takes a minute. I like that it includes 2 lipo batteries. Build quality and the overall design is pretty good too. The suspension is decent which makes a huge difference. The steering is also fast and responsive, though the steering angle isnt great. The brushed motor actually has way more power and speed than I expected. Its not going to compete with brushless, but it has enough power to get through grass without too much trouble. I did immediately take off the plastic motor cover before I even drove it for the first time. That thing is sure to limit airflow and cause premature failure of the motor. Just dont touch the motor, its simple. This is a lot of fun and plenty versatile. It can be driven on a multitude of terrain and pretty much anywhere thanks to the large wheels, 4 wheel drive, and torque from the large brushed motor. The lights are cool but I would like to see an option to turn them off from the radio. Overall this is a great value and would make a good gift for anyone. ... show more

  • Adjustable Speed Makes This Great for Younger Drivers
Color: Silver
My grandson and I played with this DEERC RC car over the weekend and put quite a bit of time on it. We ran both batteries completely down, charged them back up, and then ran them down again. We drove it on grass, hard-packed dirt, and a driveway covered with small, packed pebbles. We also made a few small ramps for short jumps and set up a little race course using bricks as barriers. The car handled all three surfaces surprisingly well. The 4WD gives it good traction, and the suspension did a good job soaking up most of the bumps and small jumps we put it through. One thing I did notice is that when the suspension bottoms out on a harder landing, the car tends to bounce, which usually resulted in an immediate rollover. Fortunately, the body has quite a bit of flex to it. We rolled this car numerous times over the weekend, and despite all of that abuse, the body never cracked or split anywhere. Battery life varied quite a bit depending on how aggressively we drove it. The best we managed from one battery was around twenty minutes, while the shortest was about thirteen minutes when we were driving it harder and faster. Having two batteries definitely helps extend the playtime, but I did not get anywhere near fifty minutes of combined runtime during our testing. My favorite thing about this car is the aggressive styling. The black and yellow graphics, large tires, rear spoiler, and lights give it a great appearance and make it look faster and more substantial than a typical toy RC car. My second favorite feature is the ability to limit the top speed from the remote. At full speed, the car is relatively quick and takes a little more skill to control, especially around obstacles. Being able to dial the speed back makes a huge difference when a younger child is driving. In my opinion, this feature makes it possible for kids younger than the recommended age to enjoy the car with appropriate supervision without immediately sending it full speed into the nearest brick. Overall, this is a fun and fairly quick RC car that took quite a few rollovers and rough landings without suffering any damage. I do think it is priced a little high for what it is. Despite the metal components and good suspension, I would still consider this a toy grade RC car rather than a hobby grade model. That said, my grandson and I had a lot of fun racing it, jumping it, and generally seeing what it could handle. ... show more

  • Fast, Fun Little 1/18 Scale Basher
Color: Silver
This is a really fun little 1/18 scale basher. With the body and livery, I'd consider it more of a stadium-truck style RC, and it's a great size for just throwing in the car and taking somewhere to run. For a small RTR, it comes pretty well equipped. It has a brushless power system, metal-geared steering servo, oil-filled shocks with adjustable collars, and it includes two batteries, a cleaning brush and a charger. The suspension has a nice rebound right out of the box. Personally, I think I'd add just a little more oil to the shocks, but that's more of a tuning preference than a complaint. It's also surprisingly quick for its size. What impressed me even more was that the tires and brushless system have enough power to push it through fairly thick grass at a park. A lot of smaller RCs struggle once they get into thicker grass, but this one handled it nicely. I think this would make an excellent entry-level basher, especially for a younger person learning about RCs. Just keep in mind that even though it has some hobby-grade features, I would still consider it toy-grade overall because it uses Phillips-head hardware rather than the hex hardware you normally find on hobby-grade RCs. The good thing is that since it's from DEERC, replacement parts are readily available. That's particularly important with a basher because eventually you're going to introduce it to something immovable at considerably more speed than originally planned. Overall, it's fast, capable for its size, comes with a good assortment of equipment, and most importantly, it's just a lot of fun. ... show more

  • Survived a Weekend of Jumps and Rollovers
Color: Yellow
My grandson and I spent quite a bit of time with this DEERC RC 9312E car over the weekend. We went through both batteries, charged them back up, and then drained them a second time, so we were able to put a decent amount of driving time on the car. We tested it on grass, hard-packed dirt, and a driveway covered with small, packed pebbles. We also built a few small ramps for jumping and used bricks to make a little race course. The 4WD system gives the car plenty of traction, and it handled all three surfaces very well. The suspension also does a good job absorbing bumps and smaller jumps. On harder landings where the suspension completely bottoms out, however, the car tends to bounce and immediately roll over. We had numerous rollovers throughout the weekend, but fortunately the body is very flexible and took the abuse without cracking or splitting anywhere. Battery life varied considerably depending on how aggressively we drove it. Our longest run on a single battery was about twenty minutes, while our shortest was around thirteen minutes when we were driving faster and harder. Having two batteries included definitely helps since you can swap them out and keep playing while the other one charges. One of my favorite features is the ability to limit the maximum speed using the remote. At full speed, the car is relatively quick, but being able to turn the speed down makes it much easier for younger kids to control. My grandson could concentrate on steering without having the car constantly getting away from him. As his skill improved, we could simply increase the speed. I also really like the aggressive styling of this version. The black and gray color combination gives it a more subdued appearance while still looking tough and sporty. It performs well and has some better components than the average R/C toy, but this is closer to a toy than a hobby grade car and it is slightly overpriced for the speed it produces combined with the smaller batteries. ... show more

  • Could have been better, but does have some redeeming qualities
Color: Silver
For the listed price, I was expecting more out of this truck. The listing reads as though this is a lower mid level hobby grade truck that should be decent for a younger hobbyist to start with. There are definitely some good points, but some things that aren't so good as well. I'll list the positives first so that this doesn't come across sounding like I'm being purely negative. First, the plastics on this truck that will take the most abuse, such as the front bumper and the rear wing, are extremely flexible. I didn't put it through a torture test, but they feel like they'd hold up to some good abuse, and that's something I don't usually expect on a less expensive model. Next, while this truck isn't blazing fast, it's fast enough to keep a younger person entertained for a while, and will pick the front tires up off of the floor on a grippier surface, such as carpet. I didn't take it outside since we've been having rain lately, but I suspect that a typical driveway or street would have the same result. Also, the tires are soft and the rubber feels like a nice, grippy compound, which helps the truck to accelerate and maintain as much speed as possible through corners and offroad. With these last two things in mind, DeeRC has included a wheelie bar on the back of the truck that's preinstalled. So it's ready to run as soon as you charge the battery and put batteries in the remote. To help with handling, the truck has oil-filled shocks. They may not be the highest quality available, but they're better than the often-used spring-only shocks that I see on many of the less expensive models. This is a huge plus, as long as they don't leak after a few harder landings. Unfortunately, these things do also come with some negatives. The truck's batteries don't give any more information than the output voltage and current capacity, so we have no way to know what kind of punch to expect from them. On top of that, DeeRC has chosen to use a battery connector that's very similar to one that's more common on less expensive 1S bargain models to power this truck. It's both the charging plug and the output plug for these batteries. While not having any other plugs to deal with can be convenient, it doesn't make it easy for the consumer to find replacement batteries without going back to the manufacturer. A simple Deans plug, XT-series plug, or even JST plug would have been a big step up here. Also, this truck uses a 5-wire servo. The listing says this servo is a metal geared servo, but even with metal gears, a 5-wire servo is a large problem when it comes to serviceability. If there's a servo problem, you either have to go back to the manufacturer for a replacement or replace the servo and everything else associated with it in order to fix the issue. In this case, that would mean replacing the servo, receiver, and ESC, since this truck uses an all-in-one unit to keep things tidy and simple. All in all, it's not a horrible truck, but it's certainly not the best that can be had at this price point. Just be aware of what you're getting and decide if this is the truck for you. ... show more

  • Budget Friendly Learner
Color: Silver
Budget friendly way to introduce newcomers to the RC control. At 79.99 it's easy on the wallet and delivers a lot of fun. The motor is brushed, not brushless, but still packs some punch. Kicks up dirt and will lift the wheels when it catches grip. The steering and throttle resemble hobby grade when it comes to proportional controls. Good way to for anyone to feel the dynamics of RC control using a brushed system thats fast, before steeping into the more extreme brushless systems. For the price this rig feels durable, responds to inputs quickly, has decent battery life and is just fun to run overall. Very fair price at 79.99 in my opinion. ... show more

Color: Silver
Awesome larger sized 1/18th scale electric RC toy truck that has a very cool looking design, that also with extra parts, accessories & can pick up some pretty quick speeds! The RC truck has a cool looking lowered stance 4X4 off-road style design, comes with a customizable wireless 2.4GHz remote control with adjustable speed modes & a wheel turning mechanism for proper control how you want it to operate & has a 2-way trigger response for moving the truck forward & backwards. Ideal for adults seeking a speedy toy RC truck driving experience which is also great for teenagers & older kids that can use it carefully & responsibly with it being best used in a large open area or on grass/dirt. The RC truck can reach speeds of up to 25mph & this RC truck has some LED lights on the bottom with bright white front headlights. To my surprise the wireless handheld remote control only requires 2 AA batteries, normally they require 4 so that is good, I recommend playing with the RC toy truck in a large open area to avoid crashing or bumping into objects to have more fun. The price listed is actually a good price range for this style of professionally designed RC Toy truck style, it is definitely built well & fun to play with. ... show more

  • Nice Budget Entry Level Basher, But Lacks Serious Hobby Thrills
Color: Yellow
The DEERC 9312E is a perfectly good, functional product that sits right on the cusp of being decent for its entry level price point. If you are stepping up from cheap, basic toys, its 4WD setup and robust metal drivetrain look great on paper and offer a solid introductory baseline. However, as an experienced hobbyist with models like the Hosim X16, X10, and S01 in my garage, I found that this truck definitely falls below them all in speed, thrill, and overall fun factor. It lacks that hard hitting punch and visceral excitement that makes a backyard basher truly memorable, making its stock performance feel a bit safe and uninspired by comparison. Additionally, it's smaller 1/18 Scale makes traveling in grass difficult, sometimes not even possible. The performance gap becomes especially obvious when you compare it to a true standout like the SCY 16101 Pro, which remains my fastest, easiest to modify, and most fun option by a landslide and is at or relatively close to the same price point. Spending just a little bit more money on a platform like the SCY completely shifts the experience, delivering the explosive power and customizable potential that this stock DEERC truck simply cannot replicate. While the 9312E is a passable, well built choice if you are on a strict budget or buying for a beginner, it leaves a lot to be desired for anyone used to serious hobby-grade performance. It is a excellent item for what it costs, but it ultimately earns a solid 4 out of 5 stars when stacked against the real heavy hitters in its class. ... show more
