  • Definitely Big, but does a Great Job!
Style: AS500 PLUS
Got this in the mail a couple days ago. I ordered it because my CPU was overheating as the stock cooler that came with my pc just couldn’t keep up anymore. I run an i5 11600K processor, so the AS500 Plus is almost overkill, but my pc doesn’t have the best cooling system anyways so I figured it wouldn’t hurt. Installation was pretty simple. All I’ve switched out of my pc so far is the Power Unit so this was a bit new of a new experience for me. To fully install the cooler you need to take off both fans from the heat sink, then install the heat sink and put the fans back on after the heat sink is in place. Unfortunately my motherboard didn’t have the clearance above my GPU to put the fans on the heat sink after it was installed, so I had to take off the partially placed fans, take the heat sink off, take my GPU out, then reapply thermal paste, install the cooling unit, and then put my GPU back in. Thankfully once installed there was enough space between the cooler and my graphics card. Anyways, since installation I have had no full PC crashes (which was my big issue with my last cooler) and things have been working great! ... show more

  • Amazing product
Style: AS500
I was looking for an cpu air cooler and decided to give this one a try since it does recommend a high perfomance cooler. I'm using this on the Ryzen 7 5800X3D. It is a big air cooler so make sure you have enough space and specially for ram. It was also extremely easy to mount The fans do not sound loud at all on full speed and I'm very impressed by this. ... show more

  • GREAT Air Cooler for 5800X3D
Style: AS500 PLUS
I picked this up to cool my new upgraded Ryzen 7 5800X3D, as it does not come with a stock cooler. I decided on the AS500 Plus because of the dual-120mm fans, in addition to no RGB. It's perfect, even if it took me a few minutes (and checking the manual) to recognize the installation process - which is great, and really boosted my confidence in understanding how sturdy and robust the mounting solution is. For reference. I rebuild a new rig every 3-5 years, for about 20 years now; I have exclusively used AMD (just due to budget concerns), and every CPU I have purchased has come with a stock cooler - this is my first aftermarket cooler I've purchased & used. I will state that my last CPU came with a Wraith Stealth cooler - very low-profile, and VERY quiet. The AS500 Plus is neither of those things. As a lifelong musician, I would equate the sound level to typical line noise in a practice guitar amp; not loud, but certainly noticeable - YMMV. Say you have sound concerns, such as meetings, or streaming, this may affect your purchase decision. I discovered the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 only after I have been using this cooler, and I originally would likely have gotten that due to reviews, and especially pricing. That is not to say this is a bad cooler by any means, but for the price, there is surely better. ... show more

  • Be mindful of size
Style: AS500 PLUS
This is an incredible cooler. It tamed the 5900x from the Wraith Prism idling at 55-60 to 35-37. When gaming it goes up to around 61, with a max of about 76. But anytime it's hit that high it's never stayed there for me. Be mindful of how big this is. I understand it's tall, so I made sure to have space for that. What I wasn't aware of was how wide it was. I had to remove leave one side of the bracket somewhat loose because it was digging into my IO cooling (x570-i gaming Asus ROG Strix board). It still stays mounted well enough though. My only issue really, and the reason I give it 4 out of 5, is the lack of a ARGB splitter. Maybe cooler master has spoiled me with their fans, but I had to give up one of my rgb to link this up without having to buy a splitter. Not the end of the world, but definitely worth mentioning. If ARGB is important to you, add a splitter to the cart as well. Other than that, would gladly buy again. Edit: After swapping out cpu I could no longer find the sweet spot for this to cool my cpu. If you have a ASUS x570i motherboard, AVOID THIS COOLER! The VRM does NOT allow this cooler to have a stable mount, resulting in poor contact and much higher temps. This ain’t the coolers fault, but ASUS fault for making such a large heatsink for the VRM. Re-Edit: Okay so this cpu cooler CAN work after all on the motherboard. The weird thing that worked for me was using the thermal paste method they show in the instructions. I'm not sure why it worked vs the pea size method I have always done, but it works. My temps went back down significantly. The VRM clearance still kinda sucks, but again it's the fault of ASUS, not DeepCool. ... show more

  • very poor RGB ruins a great cooler
Style: AS500 PLUS
The RGB is too diffused on this cooler to the point it looks like there's something wrong with the RGB or the installation of the cooler. The RGB is dull it just look bad and that's why I give -2 stars. Would I buy this cooler if this RGB was fixed, absolutely yes! The rest of this cooler is excellent, looks and performance are very good. Pls make another version with the RGB 100% clear so it looks like crystal or glass. Do not diffuse the light! ... show more

  • No regrets!!
Style: AS500 PLUS
As far as low priced air coolers go this thing is a beast! Keep in mind its quite big but if it'll fit you won't regret it. Under heavy loads I never go higher than 53 Celsius. Extremely easy to install with minimalistic rgb lighting. My only complaint is my fan splitter was missing a pin but luckily my motherboard has enough fan headers. Oh and I can't forget to say how quiet it is, just looking at it had me expecting at least some noise but nothing... silent as the grave. All in all a great purchase and I will not forget deepcool on my next build. ... show more
