This Death by Audio pedal has a Sweepable Frequency Equalizer, which is a tone knob that does much more than your average tone knob. In addition to moving from bassy frequencies to high-end kick, the SFE shines in its subtle grit that is added as the knob is turned more and more. Choose from five different modes with the channel selector switch: Scoup, Gainiac, Square Wave, Octavius, and Wave Form Shifter. Volume and Drive knobs round out the pedal's controls. If you're looking for a pedal that executes everything from high-gain to octave fuzz, then the Apocalypse is the fuzz for you. Okay so I have spent the past year honing my sound and trying to find the perfect pedal that would give me what I want. The rich tones of the guitar amped up on a fuzz that doesn't muddy up the notes. I read alot about various pedals and even tried some out. None compare to this. Sounds professional on every setting Huge spectrum of different tonal reactions A little bit bigger than one would expect.(Make sure you got room for two pedals) Easy plug and play, not much learning required. Would I suggest it to someone else? Yep. I already have until I realized this sound is so epic I needed to make this review. Oh, and there was this guy that complained about the levels. It boosts signal like a beast so if you are scared of a little noise this might not be the right pedal for you. Or you could just use the volume on the pedal like I did and bask in the awesomeness. I play alternative, indie rock but this thing crancked can do hard rock or dimes down and thrown into highs can pull off some killer retro sounds. It really is an eye popping pedal. Echoing the other review - this thing just sounds huge. I use the JFET setting 3 and find it just makes my tone bigger across all dimensions. Goes from dirty drive to signing sustaining drive. Perfect for fans of blues rock played through a soldano (late 80s//early 90s Clapton, Warren in the 90s). It’s nice to have the other settings too - they can get pretty crazy. The big tone knob means you don’t have to spend a long time delicately dialing in “the tone”. You can just use your foot to adjust on the fly. Drive it with a clean boost for a little extra sustain or use it to smooth out an already gritty tone and give it a little more oomph for your solos. Play wild solos and be confident that every brush of the string will become glorious sound. It’s big but 5 settings and a great core tone make it a permanent fixture for me. ... show more
