been using them for years. I was always skeptical about the cryogenics thing, but the string are great. Seem to have a bit more life than others.

    • Off to a Bad Start... - Updated...

I ordered a set of these for my Epiphone Jack Casady Signature model. Installing the E, A, and D strings went without a hitch. When it came to the G string, it got as far as F# when I heard a loud snap. The ball end snapped off the string. In over 40 years of playing, I have never had this happen, and I have changed a LOT of strings on a LOT of different basses. I will say that DM replaced the defective string by sending a replacement set. I have not installed them yet, as I am in the process of modifying the bass. I will update the review once the new set of strings have been installed. UPDATE - It took no time at all for DM to replace the set of defective strings. I was a little gunshy when stringing them up, but there was no cause for concern. They all installed just fine, and came up to tune without any difficulty. The strings sound very good, and are noticeably better sounding than the unknown brand of original strings that came with the bass. The one thing I do notice though is that even though they have been on the bass for two days, they still do not hold tune, continuing to stretch, requiring retuning every two-three tunes, depending on how hard I dig in. I have never had this experience with Rotos or La Bellas, my normal go-to strings. I will update this review further if I encounter any more issues. ... show more

    • when did they start doing these roundwound? and not in a cyro sealed bag?

the old blue steel string... it aint what it used to be... that or i just never grabbed the roundwound ones. didn't come in an oxygen proof cyro bag like the flatwound ones i bought... 15 years ago? aint buying overpriced strings again since i guess i need glasses or these just suck now.
