Top Amazon Reviews

  • There is a difference, get the Plus it is worth it, but be prepared to microwave your drinks
Style: ECAM37095TI
I've tested a few of the automatic coffee makers, including the Jura and the De'Longhi, including both the De'Longhi Dinamica and their Dinamica Plus. What is confusing is that Amazon groups BOTH the regular Dinamica and the Plus together in the same product page, so the reviews are mixed together. Make sure you read the review for the unit you are interested in as there are some big differences between the two. The main difference is the price, which is usually about a $400 difference in price between the regular Dinamica and the Plus. In my opinion the Plus is worth the extra cash, and you'll be happy you spent the money as you use the machine often. The UI of the regular Dinamica is just horrible and confusing and it requires teaching each family member the oddities of it. In addition, figuring out the milk-to-coffee ratio for programming your own drinks is a guessing game in the regular Dinamica as there is no display of what is happening and you just have to press the "stop" button when you think it is correct. The Plus adds a touchscreen that visually shows you the drinks as well as an on screen display of the milk-to-coffee ratio so you can figure out what works for you. In addition, you get the ability to connect the smartphone app. The app is just alright, and VERY slow to connect to the machine. By the time it connects, I've already given up and made my drink through the touch screen. In addition with the Plus model, the milk canister that comes with this version is thicker plastic than the regular version, which keeps the milk temperature colder for longer periods when left out and connected to the machine. It is a nice upgrade, but for the plus version, I would really prefer it to be glass. I mentioned that I've also tested a Jura, which is usually regarded as the top of the line automatic espresso machine. The Jura S8 is 2x the price and I was curious if the taste was 2x as better. In the end, the taste was about the same, but the cleaning process of the Jura was a huge pain. The De'Longhi has the easiest cleaning process of all the automatic espresso machines I've seen. That to me, makes this a huge advantage over the rest. Really, the only negative I have to say about the De'Longhi Dinamica and the Plus is the milk DOES NOT GET HOT. I've talked with their support team and this is apparently just the way it is. Their solution was to pre-warm the glass, but no solutions as to getting actual hot steamed milk. If you drink milk based coffee drinks (Latte, Flat White, Cappuccino, etc) you should be prepared to microwave your drink for about 30 seconds after making it. To make sure it wasn't just my unit, I tested two Plus and one Regular Dinamica and all produce the same (not hot) temperature of milk. Is this annoying, yes, but is it a deal-breaker, no. I can deal with having to nuke my drink each time for the sake of having an easy to use and easy to clean automatic espresso machine. Simple conclusion: Get the Plus, enjoy easy to use espresso machine with easy cleaning, but be aware you'll have to nuke your milk-based coffee drinks to get them warm. ... show more

  • Review after 11 months usage and multi-maker experience
Style: ECAM37095TI
This is my third super automatic. The first was a Phillips 3200 purchased in 2019, mainly because it was relatively inexpensive and, anyway, I'm not a coffee snob, right? My go-to drinks are a Long coffee (programmed to 8 oz American cup, with steamed milk added, or a Cappuccino or Latte. The Philips made an OK cup of coffee, but it was never really hot and the fit and finish of the machine itself was poor -- ground coffee and lots of water flooding the drip tray all splattered all over the internal mechanism. I then bought the top-of-the-line DeLonghi Eletta and moved the Philips to a weekend home. The fit, finish and design of the DeLonghi is far superior to the Philips. It is much, much easier to clean. It also does everything better than the Phillips--better tasting coffee drinks that are hotter, more one-button coffee choices, larger capacity water tank, larger capacity bean hopper, scheduled turn-on, cup warmer. [However neither machine programmed the amount of hot milk dispensed when the 'milk' button is pressed. A small thing, for sure, but it would have been nice.] A year goes by, and I see this machine advertised. I sold the Philips on Facebook Marketplace and bought the Dynamica Plus.. It is much smaller and lighter that the Eletta and in a NY apartment, space is really at a premium. ( I then moved the Eletta to the weekend home.) DeLonghi was able to lower the price partly because it removed the cup warmer (which I never used and turned off), and the ability to schedule it to turn turn on in the morning (only does a brief rinse and pre-heats the water). But it doesn't have to because it heats up faster, maybe 30 seconds instead of--Omigod!--a minute. It is also much quieter. Because my go-to morning drink is an 8 oz. Long, I can now also program the quantity of milk I add. (I know, REAL coffee aficionados never add milk, but I do, ok?) Both the Eletta and this Dynamics Plus make equally good coffee, and all the assorted coffee drinks. The negative to the Dynamics Plus is a 48 oz water reservoir instead of the Eletta's 60 oz. Like the Eletta, the fit and finish is very good, and cleaning is easy. I'm surprised at the number of negative reviews I see here. After nearly a year of nearly daily use, it has been problem-free. Hope I didn't just jinx it. ... show more

  • So much better than the Philips 4300
Style: Dinamica
I had a Saeco Incanto Deluxe for 10 years, 25000 coffees and no problem until the end. Naturally, I bought a Saeco (Philips) again and picked the 4300 model. The "coffee" we got out of that machine were nothing but light brown water. Not drinkable. We tried to get support through Amazon and Philips and that was about 100% utterly useless and waste of time, so I returned the 4300 after troubleshooting for 3 days and 2 lbs of beans (with zero success getting even a single "puck" out of that thing). Long story short - bought the Dinamica, set it up and it works as advertised. Good results and a few options of different brews. The downside is the automatic cleaning after each restart (sleep mode automatically kicks in after 2 hrs). One of the best parts of the design is the water tank. It is, besides a hole to fill in the water, closed on top, so when pushing it in place, water will not spill everywhere. The customization options on the 4300 were better and the menu "design" and look and feel of the Dinamica feels like 1970s, but it is not for video games and the coffee it produces is good. ... show more
