  • Pretty Decent for the price. Beat my expectation.
Size: 30V 10A Style: White
This power supply's accuracy on voltage is spot on, the current is with in spec, the controls are easy to use, and the body doesn't seem that cheap. The capacitors are Chengx. They aren't bad but they are pretty decent. The precision capacitors are precision caps. The pcb seems high quality. The LCD display is what you would expect. But over all I think this is a pretty decent power supply and will be good for beginners. The transformer inside its quite beefy for the rated output, so that's a plus. The internal out put cables are pretty thick, they should hold up to the full 30v 10a. I used the lighter technique to see the wire composition, and they are indeed copper, not copper coated aluminum. The shunts seem to be calibrated shunts, one massive DC choke. I like the whole layout of the PCB. Seems like good engineering to me. Seems good to me. Id say 4.5 stars. The main downside id say is the capacitors. Again, the capacitor brand isn't the bad, but it isn't the best such as a nichicon or rubycon. Nice galvanic isolation by the way. The test leads seem to be high quality, lots of copper in them, and again, they are copper and not copper coated aluminum. Only 0.1 ohms from the ground lug on the plug and the ground binding clip. So again, I think... This is a well built power supply and i think it is a good one for pros and newbies. The customer service is very helpful and quick. Mine broke down after a few months due to me attaching it to a load it wasn't meant to handle, but they sent me a new free one without hassle. It came within 2 days. Highly satisfied. Good job guys! ... show more

  • Works Like A Champ
Size: 30V 10A Style: White
This charger has been running non-stop without any issues for over 4 days while I top balance my new LiFePO4 cells. This charger/power supply is a beast. It's only slightly warm and the fan hasn't even kicked on yet. Granted, I'm charging with low wattage, but I'm impressed by its ability to stay cool. There are two features that really swayed me to this particular power supply. The first is the coarse and fine adjustments. This feature seems to only be found on the pricier power supplies. The second feature I really liked was that it showed watts. While this isn't exactly critical to know, it's definitely useful to see it on a screen without having to break out a calculator. This unit also came with the standard wires with alligator clips. No complaints there. They appear to be good quality and work as they're intended. When you consider the price of this unit and the features it has, it's a bargain. It's also pretty accurate. Only .003 volts difference between what's on the screen and what I measured with my multimeter. Oh..... to top it off, Kung Kungber gives you a lifetime warranty. So yeah, zero complaints, accurate, great features and a warranty. I highly recommend this power supply. ... show more

  • First one was shorted, second one works great
Size: 30V 10A Style: White
They get a one-star dink for the first unit being defective (it was shorted internally and never got off Constant Current mode), but it was quickly and easily replaced (thanks Amazon Prime) and the new unit works great. The dials are a bit fiddly to get just exactly right, but it gets close enough and stays set very well. To save everyone time, here's the TLDR on how to set it up for use: 1. Turn on, set what maximum voltage (Constant Voltage mode) you want the supply to provide using the "V" dials. Do not mess with the "A" dials. 2. Once voltage is dialed in, clip the two leads to each other (minor spark sometimes when that happens) and use the "A" dials to set what the maximum amperage (Constant Current mode). Do not mess with the "V' dials. 3. Disconnect the leads from each other and you're all set to connect your load. If your load draws less amperage than your supply's max setting, it will provide the maximum voltage (Constant Voltage mode) until the current limit is reached, then it will flip to provide the maximum amperage (Constant Current mode) and decrease voltage to match the load's requirements at that current. As an example, for testing I connected a 12V, 6A Peltier cooler plate to it, setting the voltage to 12, but limiting the amperage to only 600 mils. It ran fine, did some minor cooling on one side and minor heating on the other, and only drew about 1.8V while doing so, having hit the amp limit. On a second test, I connected a 12V computer case fan to it, setting the voltage to 12V and the current to 500 mils, but since the fan only wanted ~180 mils for max speed, it simply stayed in Constant Voltage mode and provided 12V/180mA. The reason I mention not messing with the other dial during configuration is that while disconnected (Voltage setting) or shorted (Amperage setting), the display only shows the changes being made to that setting, but BOTH SETS OF KNOBS still can change their respective settings. That is, you can dial the amperage setting up while in voltage set mode but you won't know what the new setting is as it won't display it - this can be very dangerous to you and your load if you then connect your load assuming the amperage was limited to what you'd set earlier. Overall, a nice little bench power supply. ... show more

  • Great hobbyist power supply. Does what you need without going broke.
Size: 30V 10A Style: White
The device itself is beautiful and modern looking. My wife stopped and asked - what is that cute thing? It's small enough to fit on my hobby bench and really makes the space look bright and organized. I'm not an electrical engineer just a hobby tinkerer. The voltage output was off by less than 0.1 volts across the range vs the reading on my multimeter. I consider that good enough for my applications but if you are a professional electrical tech you might want to get a better unit. The two minor annoyances are that the power button is on the back and that there is a pretty big delay between turning the knobs and the output settling in to the final value. Once it reaches the set point it's rock steady. It would also be nice to have a center mark on the fine adjustment knobs because I like to return them to center before using the course adjustment. That lets me have max adjustability once I get close to the set point I want. Overall for the money this is exactly what I need. ... show more

  • Extremely Accurate, Well Priced, Easy to Use!
Size: 30V 10A Style: Black
I have an extensive off-grid home and I use the Kungber 30v/10a Variable DC Power Supply Variable to test items that I intend to add to the system. For me, testing an item often involves finely tuned DC input at *EXACTLY* 27.30v to match my Lithium Ion battery array made from upcycled Hybrid Car Batteries. The power supply arrived well packaged, with all needed leads, manual (actually readable, unlike many imported items), power cable and support information. I was genuinely shocked that it included a card promising a lifetime warranty, that fingers crossed, I'll never have to make use of. I set it up with a pure sine wave inverter and then set it to voltages ranging from a flat 12v all the way up to my needed 27.3. It has both a 'coarse' and 'fine' adjustment setting, so you get the voltage setting into the neighborhood with the coarse setting, then tune it to your exact needs with the fine setting. I double checked all the voltage ranged I set with a Fluke 81438 Digital multimeter and even given that it was running off of an inverter, I never saw a reading that so much as budged once it was set. As a bonus, since I have access to a nearby grid power source, I could even use the power supply as a trickle charger to keep my necessities running like my 12v Diesel Heater in the event of a catastrophic event where I lost my solar/wind input. I'd have to make an SAE connector to do it, but that's the easy part. So far I'm very pleased and given my track record with some of these less expensive imported electronics, that's saying a lot coming from a DC subject matter expert. Buy with confidence, what you'll get is worth every penny. ... show more

  • High quality inexpensive bench supply for lab
Size: 30V 10A Style: Black
Excellent quality device for a very reasonable price. Large, easy to read LEDs, and the coarse/fine controls make it easy to set a precise voltage or current limit. I've been using a very old Lambda power supply that was huge, weighed a ton, and didn't have the voltage or current capacity of this one. In fact, I could put several of these into the same space as my previous supply. One thing to be aware of is that the constant current function is not instantaneous. For example, if you set the supply at 5 volts with a 20ma limit to power an LED directly, you'll likely blow out the LED. The current will initially surge a bit until the supply realizes the current has exceeded the setting, and then the voltage will drop to compensate. But that that time you may have exceeded the LED's current capabilities. So when using constant current, you're better off setting things up at zero, connecting your circuit, and then raising the current limit slowly to your desired level. The only suggestion I'd have is to put the power switch on the front. Since this will likely be used in a tech lab environment, it will sit on a counter or shelf and reaching around the back to turn it off and on is a bit inconvenient. But overall, a great product for the cost. I'd highly recommend it! ... show more

  • Good budget bench supply, one quirk
Size: 30V 10A Style: Black
I’ve been using it almost daily for several weeks, and I have to say it’s quite good for the price. It’s a bit more accurate than my previous one, voltage stays pretty steady under load, and the 2Amp USB on the front is a nice bonus. From my limited experience (and without digging through the internals) it seems like a pretty standard power supply, but a well-engineered one. I even like that the off/on switch is on the back of the unit, because that makes it less likely that I’ll turn it on by accident. I really only have one notable gripe, but I do think it’s important to be aware of this before buying. For my purposes it’s just an odd quirk, but for some applications I could see it being a substantial concern. The whole unit actually stays powered and continues to produce the full output for about ten seconds before actually turning off, regardless of whether you flip the on/off switch or unplug it from the wall. At least the screen stays on too so that you have a visual warning. Overall, I’m glad I bought it. Would buy again if I needed another budget power supply. ... show more

  • It Does What It Was Designed To Do!
Size: 30V 10A Style: White
22APR24 Update: I bought this "variable power supply" for charging my DIY LiFePO4 batteries at the recommendation of others that also DIY their own LiFePO4 batteries. After having used this variable power supply to charge...YES, CHARGE my 12 volt DIY batteries a number of times, I can honestly say that I am STILL VERY PLEASED with my purchase. I have used the Kungber to charge 2, 50 amp hour batteries and 1, 150 amp hour battery at least a few times each to bring them up to full capacity. I believe I also used it to charge the 280 amp hour battery that I also built. Needless to say it took a while, but it got the job done. My investment in this battery was very worth while! 23JUN21 Review: I recently discovered LiFePO batteries, and have been teaching myself a lot of DIY methods for making my own LiFePO batteries. I did a lot of research and watched a lot of You Tube videos about constructing LiFePO batteries. And I understand that having good equipment and tools is paramount to making a good battery, and that feeds into why I decided to purchase this power supply. I have been using it to top-balance and charge my LiFePO cells and battery packs. Only a few so far, but I am very happy with my purchase. I believe this to be one of the better power supplies because it has both coarse and fine tuning knobs for volts and amperage. It is easy to use, and fairly intuitive. The leads that came with it are a more-than-adequate length for my purposes. So far, so good! ... show more
