  • 50 holes, no serious problems, in some rough and rocky soil.
Style: 63cc+4+6+8+12+Ext
In general this seems to be a solid decent unit. The instructions are the usual confusing stuff when you go for the off-brand offshore solution. Refer to oil separate from the gas which doesn't apply, controls that aren't where they are described, etc., like its for a different product. The power on/off switch is a weird toggle that looks like it belongs on a electronics panel not a yard tool, and its locate in a place that interferes with taking a solid grip on the tool sometime which is required when drilling in rugged soil. I went directly to drilling / augering 12" diameter holes and when it hits a grapefruit size rock, the thing bucks like a spurred horse, but can't blame that on the tool. The 12" auger bit is now "stuck" on one of the extensions, pounded on it for awhile and haven't been able to get it unstuck. Yes the pin is out. Rental would have cost more so I'm money ahead already on this, and imagine it will continue to work for years. ... show more

  • Went 4 feet into the clayish ground no problem. See my method ...
Style: 63cc+4+6+8+12+Ext
When it gets down into thick heavy clay earth, let the bit turn about half of a turn, then quickly pull bit straight-up out of the hole and get clay/soil off. Then keep doing this until your at the desired level. Be patient. If you let it grab too much clay you will not be able to pull it out or reverse it without a pipe wrench to turn it backwards. It is a great machine for the price. The soil I was digging deep into was both clay and rocky. It will do the job if you keep the clay off the bit and the hole clean. In normal soil the machine works quickly and easily. ... show more

  • ECO LLC 63CC Heavy Duty Gas Powered Post Hole Digger with Earth Auger Drill Bits (4 & 6 & 8 & 12")
Style: 63cc+4+6+8+12+Ext
You must add 250 cc (8.5oz) SAE 80-90 gear oil to the gear case of this post hole digger. There is NO Oil filler port on this machine. You must take out the Drain plug and add the gear oil thru that tiny drain plug hole. I had to use a syringe to get the oil in the gear box. Took me over an hour to get 8.5 oz. of gear oil in that tiny hole. Why the manual shows a Oil Filler Port and the machine does not have one I do not know. Make no mistake, if you run this machine without oil in the gear box you will burn up the gears. The 2 cycle oil and gas mixture are for the engine only and have nothing to do with the gears in the gear box. ... show more

  • Strong motor

Love the power head The augers are a bit frail, light duty Be careful what you’re digging thru. The augers are not the thickest metal

  • two separate packages lol
Style: 63cc+6+10+Ext
so i may or may not have panicked at the fact that i had only received the two extensions at first, i immediately contacted the seller and started to notice all the 1-3 star reviews 😥 but the second box did appear with the motor, my dad really needed this and can’t wait to try it out, hopefully it gives quality work, i do trust the looks of it though, two extensions and 1 motor, along with a few more tubes to extend even more, can’t wait to see results 👌 ... show more

  • Defective and Cheaply Built
Style: 63cc+6+10+Ext
I have used two of these. The first one bolts just started falling out of and it leaked oil/gas everywhere. The manufacturer replaced it under warranty (after a bit of hassle). While in the process of digging a hole with the second one, the throttle cable broke with the auger at max RPM. I had to throw it to the ground so not to get injured. Its great when it works - as long as you don't hit ANY rocks - but very poorly built. ... show more

  • This is not an ECHO. Don't make my Miistake!
Style: 63cc+6+10+Ext
Like other purchasers comments this thing has a kick like a mule. Manual is wrong for the model.63cc auger $ 245.00. The worst thing once I set it up and ran it for the first time, the GEARBOX GASKET LEAKED like a SIEVE. Could have and probably should have sent it back. Instead I disassembled the gearbox and went to the auto parts store and bought some Permatex oil based gasket material and added it to the gasket and it seems to be holding. SHAME on me. I thought I was purchasing an ECHO product not this thing (ECO LLC). GOD FORBID if this thing ever breaks down I am Screwed. Will not be using it a whole lot. I just don't want to have to repack and deal with the shipping headache. Baring any MULE kicks, it runs smooth just keeping my fingers crossed. If the manufacturer reads this I would like to be sent a WEB address that has the proper manual and parts list for this product if one actually exists? ... show more
