I bought the alternator as a replacement for an original toyota alternator for my 2000 Toyota Camry CE on June 16, 2021. It started making noise about a month ago and finally stopped working on July 25, 2024. All in all that's a little over 3 years for the alternator. The car was used as a daily driver travelling an average of 20 to 30 miles on the weekdays. I paid about $100 dollars for it so that equates to about less than $3 a month in terms of depreciation. I hope this review helps someone out there. :)

I had swapped out the original alternator on my 1997 Toyota Camry about 18 months ago with a Denso alternator - paid up for quality? NOT It lasted ~ 18 months. Figured the second go around I'd but something cheaper - this looked good - installed and working properly - who know how long it will last - but am happy as of now...

"ZERO" star review. DO NOT BUY FROM "DB ELECTRICAL". I was a Owner of a Auto Repair business for over 35 years, so this is an area that I know about! When I retired my business and moved out of the Los Angeles area to Idaho I didn't have any contacts locally for a Alternator for my Wife's '99 Camry. My "go to place" is Amazon. With my many years experience I knew that I didn't want a "rebuilt" or "remanufactured" Alternator. Those units, at best, are disassembled and "cleaned?" and the worn parts are replaced and reassembled and "tested?", who knows how, and shipped out. So because the Original Equipment Manufacture (OEM) Toyota"s lasted for over 16 years/150,00 miles, I ordered a NEW Alternator from DB Electrical with the thought that NEW Alternator would last near as long as the OEM, because it was NEW. After only 18 months/8700 miles the NEW Alternator has failed. I contacted the seller DB Electrical and told them the same story as above and the only response was that the Alternator was out of the 1 year Warranty. I knew that before I contacted them. I believed that after they knew that the Alternator had only lasted as long as it had, that they would make a exception and to promote customer good will would offer some help. I contacted them again and explained how disappointed that I was and how unfair that they are being and if they wouldn't help that my only recourse was to post the most NEGITIVE" review I could - but no response!! So that is my "ZERO" star review. DO NOT BUY FROM "DB ELECTRICAL".

Installed on my 2000 Camry after my old one stopped working. Fit perfectly. Seems to work correctly. The bracket for routing the wires needs to be removed from the old alternator and installed on the new one. Everything else is included. My old alternator was rated at 80 amps. This one is rated at 90 amps. So far (one day) I'm pleased. I'll update if I experience any problems. The rated output is at a rotational speed of 6000 RPM. The amp rating of this alternator is 90 amps. Included computer printout of alternator test showed output current at various alternator RPM. 1600 RPM: 46 amps, 2500 RPM: 79 amps, 6000 RPM: 113 amps. UPDATE: Alternator failed after about 3.5 years and 30,000. It appears one of the brushes was completely worn down to a knob. This is a $10 replacement part if you know what you are doing. Subtracting one star for defective brush. Regardless I still think this is a good product for the price.

Works fine so far. Took a beating to get it in tho. Literally, had to hear on the side where the main screw holds it in. Fit was very off.
