  • Fit
Not only did it fit perfectly, it was a fast change out. it shipped fast. Came poorly packaged which amazon u suck for that not the seller. No damages to the part. It gave it all the power it had before and then some. No longer is my engine sluggish it has way more pep. Its not puttering anymore. It doesn’t die if i leave it for half a day and i no longer have to disconnect my battery when i go places. Everything about the experience getting this alternator was amazing. And half the price of the local part store. Thank you. 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee, v8, 5.2 ... show more

  • Alternator.
I have had this for about 6 months. It is doing good so far, but can’t speak for longevity yet. It mounts easily without any modifications. It was a much better price than many of the same quality at the auto parts store.

  • Perfect fit and superb product!
Always had to pull the old part to take with me to the parts store because I hated getting the part first, going home and finding out they gave me the wrong part. Not so with Amazon Garage and good products like this. Replaced the alternator, fired up the truck, and charging like a champ. And with no core to return, etc. & delivered to my door. Identical to the OEM. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Great value alternator and arrived quickly.
Purchased this for a 1998 Dodge Dakota and it was easy to install and fit perfect. It runs quiet and smooth and puts out the desired voltage. It was a great value for the money as it was about half of the price of any of the auto parts stores in my area.

  • Short lived junk.
It was a good looking alternator. Looked new, just like in the images. There was a small corner broken off a plastic piece on the battery terminal that happened in shipping, but it was otherwise fine and worked well initially. However, about 6 months in, the voltage began dropping off unless you revved the engine up. Now the alternator is making a howling noise and it smells electrical when running. I probably should have returned it under warranty but I use the truck infrequently, it still charged and didn't make noise, so I didn't get around to it. Now it's time to find/buy another one. One year of limited driving (maybe 5,000 miles) and it's junk. The original alternator went 21 years and 240,000 miles. Unless you are ok with doing the job more than once, I wouldn't recommend this unit at all. ... show more

  • Avoid This Problem
I purchased this for a 1998 Dodge Durango SLT model. The alternator is great and brand new. However ... My positive battery cable connected to the battery was showing heavy acid build up on the cable. Cleaned it once without thinking about it. Heavy acid build up happen again. This is a clear indication that the car battery was being overcharged. Then the vehicle started to slow start like the battery was on low charge.two months later after the alternator was installed. Checked the car battery with a volt meter and was 12.54 but the vehicle was starting to barely turn over. I first thought this was the cable itself thinking wear and tear and looking to replace the battery cable. A little over two months later, the vehicle clicked like a low charge battery does when it out of juice. I was gonna swap out the alternator and recharge the battery to get it going. Then I was looking at the internet and came across this piece of information which makes a lot of sense since the battery cable was covered completely in acid that indicated overcharging. The culprit was the voltage regulator. And where is this voltage regulator located ? It is built into the computer (PCM). You cannot get it out since they sealed it. Luckily I did not fry my vehicle's computer (PCM) and shorted it out since there was no smell coming from the PCM. That PCM alone costs over 200 bucks for a replacement. The answer is to install an external voltage regulator. AlternatorParts.com sells the kit for 65 bucks. Unless you fried your PCM and that has to be replace too. Dodge has all these sensors that give out first to prevent mechanical failure. The problem is finding which sensor to replace. This new alternator is gonna sent electricity through your wires like its on fire. The problem is that my vehicle is about 19 years old and has wear and tear with mileage. So the charging might be a bit too much for the vehicle's electrical system. ... show more
