    • I found this alternator to work perfectly in my Gen-2 Dodge Ram 3500.
I did some research before buying this alternator, I learned that many Dodge alternators don't have an internal regulator but are controlled by the PCM under the hood. To make sure my old alternator was bad and not the PCM or the wiring, I searched for information about testing Dodge Ram Gen-2 alternators. There are several articles about this. Fortunately after testing I found that it was indeed my old alternator that was at fault and this one proved to be a inexpensive replacement. So far it has been working great. Fitment was perfect.     • Perfect replacement. 14+ volts at idle in my 5.9 Cummins.
I was suffering from the dreaded torque slip issue. I also noticed that my headlights would cycle when first starting up my vehicle. For the price, I figured it was time to try a new alternator. Installation was super easy (except for the serpentine belt tensioner!). I'd put the total time for removal of the old + replacement at less than an hour. Knowing what I know now about how to properly handle the tensioner pulley, I think you could do this in 30 minutes. So far it's working brilliantly. I've not had the chance to test whether or not bad diodes in my old alternator were responsible for the torque converter issues, but I'll report back on this. Great alternator! ... show more

received alternator on time. installed and worked perfect on my 93 dodge cummins diesel. alternator output was 14.3 volts at idle. hope it last as long as the oem alternator.

Got this unit to replace the alternator that not longer work in my truck. I checked here in town at the local auto stores and the cheapest was $105 bucks. For $68 bucks and free shipping, I thought this might be a deal. It was, came earlier that expected and when I replace the old unit with this new one, had no problems, everything fit perfectly.     • NOT INTERNALLY REGULATED
I purchased for my 12v cummins. Researched MANY alternaters, decided to purchase this one due to it having an internal regulator. ( regulator built into the alternator) mt truck currently will not chrage unless you put 12v to exciter wire. Well this alternater should've solved my no charge issue, however this alternator is NOT internally regulated. Still at square 1. I would've never bought it had I been told the the pcm contols the charging for these alternators also. Very pissed. ... show more
