EXPERIENCED ISSUES WITH ANOTHER BRAND ALTERNATOR SOLD ON AMAZON; SWITCHED TO DB CO. DB TECHS ARE REAL PROS AND ADVISED THAT 'FIELD TEST' INSTRUCTIONS THAT CAME WITH OTHER BRAND'S ALTERNATOR WERE TOTALLY WRONG AND IT WAS THOSE IMPROPER FIELD INSTRUCTIONS 'TEST' THAT CAUSED ALL THE PROBLEMS I EXPERIENCED. I RETURNED THE OTHER COMPANY'S ALTERNATOR SOLELY ON THE BASIS THAT THEIR FIELD TEST INSTRUCTIONS WERE TOTALLY WRONG! DB TECHS TOLD ME TO DISREGARD THE OTHER COMPANY'S ERRONEOUS 'TEST' INSTRUCTIONS AND GUIDED ME THROUGH THE TRUE TECH FIELD TEST WHICH VALIDATED THAT NEW DB ALTERNATOR WAS PUTTING OUT PROPER AMPERAGE. DB ALSO SHIPS NEW ALTERNATORS WITH HIGHER AMPERAGE THAN THE OEM STANDARD...DB ONLY SHIPS THEIR NEW ALTERNATORS [NIPPONTENDO] WITH THE HIGH PERFORMANCE AMPERAGE [APROX. 132 AMPS INSTEAD OF STD. Bought this in mid March 2020 and it is already failing. Full charge when I am moving but as soon as I stop at an idle the volts drop. So much that with it being winter and my heater blower going you can hear and feel the difference. I did contact the seller and they told me they would replace it but well that isn't going to work when I have to send this one back to them and then wait for the replacement to come. We are talking at least a week without my truck running. Live and learn I guess. ... show more
