Works great Good value half the price of local parts stores & No core charge. Very clean and new looking reman core from Tennessee USA consisting of Good quality new components for a non Hitachi OEM replacement so hopefully and surely longer livegivity than a imported reman, little laxed on low idle can see headlamps brighten a bit on rev up but otherwise great output for a little 80amp alternator it runs my 02 Xterra SE 4x4 loaded down now with 6 subs and two amplifiers putting out bout 2k continuous watts running with a farad or surely the alternator would suffer just like anyone near My truck with all that booming bass going on ! 😁

I still had the original alternator on my vehicle and it was in need of replacement, so I decided to order this as I have order other automotive items for Amazon. When I received the alternator it was packaged well with so minor damage to the box (not a scratch on the alternator) which I blame USPS. As I compared the new to the old I notice a few minor differences: 1. The bolt on the back to attach the ground wire was different (13mm instead of 12mm) 2. The top front bolt above the belt pulley had to be loosened 2 turns (from where I would have tightened the bolt) or the pulley wouldn't turn and it would eat the belt. (hard mistake to learn another $20 on a belt that wasn't necessary) 3. It didn't come with a plastic bracket to prevent the 3 prong cable (power) from touching metal. (very very important!!) I am glad I caught this as it could have fried the alternator at start. All that being said this item is installed and works great. It has been working for about 3 months now. With minor changes to what is included I would have given this product 5 stars, but without the plastic cap 4.

Really like 4.5 stars. Like others say ground oe ground bolt to back of oe alternator does not fit this. I got an M5 bolt with a crush and standard washer. Seems to do the trick. All necessary items line up: two mounting pass-throughs and tensioner all sync up perfectly. Cheaper than rock auto and the correct, working part arrived. Even had the bench test printout in the box. Don’t hesitate to use this item, just make sure to take it to parts/hardware store to get a ground bolt...for the price it’s not that big of an issue. I put this in my truck with relative ease once the old unit was out. Plenty of YouTube videos for DIY, I sprayed all my bolts with PB a few times over a day and a half.

So far so good. Works well on my 02 Xterra. Cant attest to longevity yet but it's been 2 weeks and I haven't had an issue yet. If I do I'll be updating this review. Only negative gripe is that the stock ground bolt is a different thread pitch than the new alternator and they didnt supply one so you'll need to find a bolt that works. Do so before you install. It's annoying to test bolts while it's in the car. Otherwise it's a nice unit and I'm glad I didnt have to go through the trouble of returning a core. Much cheaper than Rockauto (which is my usual go-to) and local parts stores.

So far so good after a few months, including running some watery trails. As others have noted, you'll need a new bolt for the ground wire. For people having trouble getting the wires off the back, you can unclip the wiring harness from the plastic retainer above the alternator and also on the firewall to make access easier for removal and installation of the alternator.
