  • SOLID cheap 12” sub!
Color: Wood Size: 12in
Quick Edit: not a big deal but I wish the auto on db level was adjustable, I found I really have to be pumping it to get it to trigger on. Thought I’d leave a review as I have seen fairly little on the review front when I was making my decision. Great 12” sub! More than fills my living room and connected kitchen. Right out of the box it was quite boomy but after going through a proper placement, tuning and delay routine it cleaned up very nicely. I almost feel as if the crossover is naturally lower than what’s stated on the knob as 80hz on the sub was far lower than 80hz on my amps crossover. I just opted for the amps crossover instead. Nothing major just something I noticed. I use it for about 70% music and 30% movie/show. I was surprised how much it can fill the room at this price point during movie watching. Don’t get me wrong it’s not “hit you in the chest” sub level but it can patch a punch during scenes with impact sounds. This sub gets far down in the frequency range, not as far as some $$$ subs but for the money this is definitely impressive and farther than I was expecting. I can’t give you exact hz levels but I would say it’s deeper than most at this price range. I have never heard the original Sub-1200 by Dayton but a lot of people say they are fairly similar. The big difference being the higher power which obviously adds quite a bit. If you are looking for a new cheaper sub that performs on that mid tier level I would recommend. It won’t blow you to kingdom come but it is definitely a solid (if not the best) choice in this price range. As this sub gives more expensive subs a run for their money, I could imagine Dayton upping the price as the word gets out. ... show more

  • My one week review of this 8" beast.
Color: Black Size: 8in
This is one solid sub! No inflated specs here. The cabinet is rock solid and looks nice too. I only have the volume about a third of the way up and you can tell your getting what you paid for, as this is rated at 150 watts. My room is about 12 x 20 feet with two doorway openings and one of the openings is quite large (double size). I'm stated this so you may compare your air space to what I'm experiencing before purchase. This little 8" sub does a very nice job of pounding out some bass. So much so that I had to reinforce my TV cabinet (more screws for the back thinner panel) from rattling and put sticky felt pieces behind my pictures and clock in the room. I used the LFE input for a few days then switched over to the L/R inputs in order to use the crossover. Both inputs sound and work just fine. No difference unless you have no way to adjust a crossover before the signal hits the LFE input. Be sure to order the correct cable for your needs and your amp/receiver specs or capabilities. I did not use the speaker inputs as my receiver has a sub out. The subwoofer produces clean and tight bass while providing bass pressure in the air. Subwoofer placement is critical and you may need to find the right spot in your room. Placing the sub facing the same direction as your main speakers is usually best but if not, don't forget to change the phase to 180, if needed. Hands down the best BANG for your buck. I personally never used Dayton before but have heard of them. So glad I gave this sub a shot. This sub blows my previous two subs out of the water and one of them was a 12". Oh and they offer a 5 year warranty. Who does that? Apparently Dayton does. The order came from Parts Express instead of Amazon. To my surprised it was delivered the day after ordered even though I think the original time frame was about a week. So that was pretty cool and unexpected. Anyway, I would highly recommend this sub. Specially at this price! ... show more

  • Good Value for the $$ and Sounds excellent.
Color: Black Size: 10in
Needed to replace an old failing 8 inch subwoofer in my computer room. My system uses a vintage (OLD) Yamaha RX-V1500 receiver with old Klipsch bookshelf speakers. Decided on the Dayton 10 inch CS1000 because it was CHEAP. I was not expecting much, after all $200 is not expensive for a subwoofer. I was WRONG, the Dayton 10 inch sub is really excellent and a superb buy for the $$. Used for music mostly and gaming PC audio along with TV streaming. Very good subwoofer for Music, lots of low end musicality without the boomy Bass that cheap subs are known for. Build quality is very Good and it looks nice. I got fast free 2 day shipping from Parts Express. It had a 37 lb shipping weight which was probably expensive to ship via UPS. I have NO complaints about the sub, however my wife complains it is too loud, so I know the Dayton is doing it's job. ... show more

  • Very clean sound
Color: Wood Size: 8in
Bought this to pair with the Dayton audio B65A bookshelf speakers. Way more impressed with this subwoofer than i am those speakers unfortunately. I choose the 8" since I placed it in a garage close to a neighbor's living room. If you don't have a reason to keep the decibels down then go for the 12" as it can hit lower frequencies and gets a little louder. I've played everything from 80s rock to newer dubstep (like bassnectar) and this sub makes everything sound full. I haven't been able to bottom this out or cause port chafing even with the gain at 3/4 and the Bluetooth input (cellphone) at onc click below Max volume. If you know how much power to expect from 150-200 rms watt subwoofers, then you'll be satisfied with these considering the price is on the cheaper end, but the sound quality is definitely on the higher end. I will update if any aspect of it breaks or burns up! ... show more

  • Very tight, and very low bass production, CS1200 does it all!
Color: Black Size: 12in
I love this sub, perfectly accompanies the Dayton T65's, B65's and C40! The family is happy.
