  • Great starter and build platform
Color: Vintage Sunburst
Great starter guitar and great build out platform if you’re into building partscasters. I’m in the process of building a new guitar out of this one. I thought I’d be chucking parts but they’re not bad so I’ll hang on to them for further builds. Out of the box she plays well and isn’t too bad. Good tuners and bridge. I’m replacing the tuners and bridge and neck but mainly for changing the color from chrome to black hardware. The pickup is cheap and should be upgraded but otherwise she’s good to go out of the box. ... show more

  • Worth the price
For $71 this is everything I needed. Is it top quality? No, but who's expecting anything other than does it sound like a guitar for this price is delusional. I'm using this to make a Trace Wonder, so it doesn't need to play in perfect tune. That's what's great about this set. Give it to a kid or use it for a project. For $71 who cares if you mess it up. It came with steel strings, some basic picks, a 1/4 jack cable, strap, and a case. ... show more

  • Not flawless but still surprisingly good.
I am an experienced guitar player and bought this to rebuild my skills. It does have some workmanship issues. The plate where the neck attaches is a little crooked. The top strap button was stripped out. (Glued it in permanently) The bridge is mounted about 1.5 mm too far up. Because of this the pickup poles are not centered. The strings go right along the top edge of the poles. The sound probably wouldn’t be quite right through an amp. I am not currently using an amp so it isn’t a problem for me. Also, the tuners are crap. A little hard playing and it will go out of tune in about 10 minutes. In spite of the bridge problem it plays really well. I have actually bonded with it quite well. The neck is great! I owned an American Deluxe Strat that I bought new in 1999 largely because of the neck feel. This one feels at least as good. The frets might be a little small. But they are fine for me. I set the action really low and it absolutely shreds. I think they are medium size. It is also quite vibey and alive. I really like that. I intend to install a set of Seymore Duncan Humbuckers in it and a new (properly installed) bridge. As well as a set of decent tuners and pots. It will absolutely scream! It is also quite an attractive guitar. The pics on Amazon do not do it justice at all. It is not perfect as is but, it really does have the ingredients to be a great guitar. ... show more

  • A Really Nice Value
Color: Vintage Sunburst
The vintage sunburst finish is very pretty. Right out of the box the guitar needed a little attention: I tightened up the hex nuts that keep the tuning machines secure; I ran a sanding sponge up and down both the treble-side and the bass-side of the fretboard to smooth out some prickly fret edges; I buffed up all of the frets with a "grade 0000" (extra fine) steel wool pad; I put on a new set of D'Addario 10's; and I adjusted the bridge saddle heights to a comfortable level (just high enough off the fretboard to allow you to slide a Quarter under each string at the 17th fret-- makes for a nice medium-low action). I was happy to find that the nut was cut and placed quite accurately (first-position chording actually rings in tune!); the neck is comfortable and straight; and the humbucking pickup sounds decent. The guitar is very playable. But probably the most noteworthy thing is its weight-- it is really light compared to many other guitars that I've played, and there's something inviting about that. So, for about $69.00, with the above measures having been taken, this is a really nice value. ... show more

  • Must be joking
Well I'm sure glad I didn't pay much for this.... because man if this is what you are calling a beginner Guitar. I'm in the wrong line of work. Holy crap we're 😳 do I start. I've been playing an repairing Guitar for a while now an this thing needs a pretty intense setup before it would be a dependable Beginner Guitar. I mean come on....... ... show more

  • Lots of work to do!
Color: Black
Bought for a project. Get rid of the pickups, wiring, bridge and tuners. Neck is ok. Nut is acceptable. Cool grain underneath. That was a plus.

  • It does what it's suppose to do.
Color: Vintage Sunburst
It is a good beginner guitar. I have been playing for many years and wanted something that wasn't going to break the bank to keep the fingers nimble. Something I could just sort of "leave around the house" and not have to shed tears about dings and scratches. It plays just fine and stays in tune reasonably well. A lot of reviews probably had unrealistic expectations as far as tone and sound goes, (I'm talking to you beginners),. All those deep, screamy, rich electric guitar noises in your favorite songs are using alot of effects pedals , 100's of watts of amplification, and the artist driving the instrument understands the fretboard very well, you'll get there,..😉 Additionally, I grabbed this headset driver to practice without disturbing everyone else and some headphones for like $5, while you're shopping online, grab a strap that makes you happy too, I thought this one was rad.🤙 ... show more
