This product is very thin. I shampooed my hair with the Heart of glass shampoo, applied this and rinsed. I didn’t use any styling products as I wanted to see how my hair looked from this alone. My hair was like silk - so soft and not weighed down or greasy at all. It’s pricy but absolutely worth it. I cannot recommend this product and the whole Heart of Glass line enough.

I was so excited to receive this product! I had to go to the website to see how to use it but once I figured it out, I'm no so sure I can live without this stuff as part of my haircare routine! It makes my hair so soft and easy to detangle. I'm not sure about how it affects the shine in my hair but I can never tell anything about that anyway. All I know is that it makes my hair LOOK and FEEL healthy!

Note: to be really, really clear, this is not a leave-in serum. I came very close to using it as such since there are not explicit instructions on the bottle and the QR code takes you to a general website. So, know for a fact, that you wash first your hair ... then, you generously apply this (comb it through), and then rinse. Do not leave this in. The look of the bottle is like something you would see on a beautiful Victorian woman's nightstand. It is just super super cool looking. Maybe a gothic, maybe a little antique. It just begs to be tried! The scent is really lovely. At first, you kind don't really notice it. But then, there is a this really nice fragrance when this hits warm water ... and that then lingers in you hair. So pretty! This is easy to apply (it is a thin liquid in all the best ways) and it rinses effortlessly. It did seem to leave my hair shinier (and better defined) than before. So, I believe this really does do a good job! I think this is well worth a try! Highly recommended!

First, I find it really annoying that this didn't have instructions on the bottle. For bonding treatments, it's important to use them correctly so that is a major oversight in my opinion. Once I looked up the instructions, this works just like many other hair rinses. There's all different names for them (most that I have used are limellar rinses). Basically you shampoo as usual, remove excess water then apply. If you get a little on your roots, it's not a big deal but it's better to keep it away from your roots. Let it sit for a minute or so then rinse out. Depending on your hair, this could be used in place of conditioner but I still need more moisture so I follow with a light conditioner on my roots and a mask on the rest for several minutes. I have used several different brands of these (many starting below $10) and this one is really nothing special. It did not detangle or smooth my hair in the shower at all- there was no way I was getting a brush through it without some serious work so I just massaged it in really well and rinsed then waiting to comb until I was rinsing out my conditioner. Other brands I've tried had a little more slip but not much so my experience is pretty consistent. I do have medium length, fine, wavy/curly hair that needs a lot of moisture and also is very prone to tangles. A different hair type may have a different experience. My hair is also color treated and this does seem to help lock in the color after using a good purple shampoo (like I did). I will say, that my hair looks amazing today after styling but I think that just might be a coincidence since nothing else about how my hair felt or looked changed in any way. My overall impression is that this is a decent product from a great brand but the price is a major deterrent for me when I can purchase the exact same thing for a fraction of the cost with the same results. I will continue to use but there's really nothing special about for my hair and my hair type.
