    • Decent dash cam for those on a budget...like me
This is a pretty good dash cam if you're on a budget. It is easy to install, and the instructions are very easy to understand. I'm OCD about wires showing, so it took a bit for to get the wire run to where it was completely hidden; but if you don't care about that, then it installs in less than a minute. The night vision is decent, but obviously a better camera will give you better results. I don't do much driving in the dark, so it's not a huge concern for me. I do like that you can have it powered at all times using the hardwire kit (sold separately), but that isn't required in my vehicle. As long as it's plugged into the 12v auxiliary outlet, it has power even if the vehicle is off. And it draws very minimal power. I left it plugged in all weekend (by mistake) from early Friday morning until late Monday morning. My vehicle never acted difficult to start or gave any indication that it drained the battery below acceptable range. Also, I have 2, 1 facing front and 1 facing back, and they were both left plugged in during that time. So even with 2 drawing constant power, it wasn't an issue. I plan on buying several more and giving them as Christmas gifts to my family. ... show more

    • Not bad for the price
All I need is a dash cam for "just in case." Hopefully, I will never "need" it. Had a simple Rexing dash cam for about seven years until I discovered by accident that at least half the recorded files were corrupted and could not be played. I looked at the reviews and saw that this was a common problem. Saw this camera on Amazon and took a chance on it. Its overall performance is not stellar but it isn't bad for the price. It gets the job done. Two minor gripes: 1. You need 3rd party software to play recordings on your PC or MAC. Unlike the Rexing, you can't just pop the memory card in and play it on Quicktime, although Quicktime will play the audio portion. You have to download "VideoLAN," which you have to open first and then transfer files into it. So my concern about this is what happens in the event of a catastrophic crash where I am unable to play it back for investigating authorities. My experience as a now retired LEO is that you can't depend on an investigating authority to have access to specific playback software or be curious enough to seek one out. 2. (This is minor). The RED "on" indicator LED is very dim and it is difficult to see if the devise is working or not. Power cords do work themselves out from time to time. ... show more

Great picture, easy installation, paired with my phone no problem, bought the 128 gb Samsung sd card. I haven’t got the hardwired kit so I just plug it in when I go (I don’t want my battery dead) getting the kit to hook into my fuse box to see about battery drain, I will review again if it drains the battery too much. You can only see the videos/ pictures if you are within 10’ or so and hooked up to the cameras WiFi but you can save any and view/send them once downloaded. ... show more

It is one of the more affordable dashcams with 1440P video and good audio quality. Samsung Micro SD card mentioned by the manufacturer is highly recommended to ensure smooth access to video/pictures. It was easy to install due to my rear-view mirror cover holding the camera without any double-sided tape. The cover helps me hide all my wiring as well. I've also purchased the hardwiring kit for auto-record. There is nothing special about their app, but it gets the job done. Overall, I'm satisfied with my purchase. ... show more

    • Takes great video, but the app could use some work
The hardware itself is actually a little better than I expected. Video quality is better than the others I’ve tried at this price point. No annoying rattles from loose fitting buttons and the mounting solution has been solid so far. I haven’t had it through a summer to see if the hot sun will weaken the adhesive (which has been an issue with other cameras I’ve used) but I’m optimistic about it. It’s small enough to not be annoying on the windshield which is a huge plus. The speaker and weird voice features are annoying but easily disabled through the app. I wish there was an easier way to save a video clip other than through the app. Maybe there is, but it’s not exactly clear how to do it. There’s only a power button on the device. The app could definitely use some work. It’s a little clunky and some settings have disappeared for some reason from when I first set it up. Namely the parking guard features. When a video is downloaded from the app to my photo library (iPhone) it saves in a format where the full res video isn’t playable. Not sure why it doesn’t convert to a standard MP4 or M4V file but I can do that on my computer so not that big of a deal. The app being sub-par IS to be expected though with any of these Chinese dash cam brands and as far as functionality goes, it does what I need it to do. If you want a 5 star app then spend the money for a Garmin or similar reputable brand. You get what you pay for. It’s not like you’re gonna be in the app all the time anyway. It’s basically just used to change settings on the camera and to wirelessly pull a clip if you need it right away which the app definitely accomplishes. It offers a live view of the camera too which is useful if you want to change the ISO setting and see in real time how it effects the picture. TLDR: Hardware is better than expected, video is too (for the price point). App is a little clunky but usable. Value proposition is great and I would recommend this product if you don’t mind a tiny bit of figuring it out yourself. ... show more
