I'm very picky about my pocketbooks, and troll the handbag aisles at TJMAX quite often looking for that perfect pocketbook. I bought a gorgeous silver Catherine Malandrino pocketbook there several months ago. If only that pocketbook was somewhat larger and had a shoulder strap, it would have been perfect. So, after many failed attempts at finding a roomy tote type pocketbook that was silver with a shoulder strap, I began searching on Amazon...something for around 40-50 dollars. I found this and it came as close as possible to my criteria. I read the other reviews about the kind of cheap fabric lining that's inside the bag, but other than that singular complaint, I have to say that this bag is well worth it's 40-ish price. It also comes with a matching wallet which is quite functional and lovely. My previous wallet was getting a bit ratty anyway. So, I've been using this bag for the last couple of weeks and it has saved my back from having to cart around a heavy purse. I love the shoulder strap. Also, when I compared the silver part on this pocketbook to my Catherine Malandrino pocketbook, it was virtually identical in color and grain. The panel with flowers and butterflies is quite lovely and the hanging Dasein gold medallion adds a splash of class. The zipper is not heavy duty, but the fact that this tote bag has a zipper across the top is a plus in itself. I spent a couple of days looking for a purselike computer bag, and settled on this tote. I love the turquoise color, and the hybrid crostrich texture (it's kind of croc down the middle and ostrich towards the sides) , it looks a lot like the B brand bags, but not as shiny and stiff. It is definitely a vinyl bag, but looks pretty darn good. I like the rigidity, it will not fall over when you put it down, and has a fairly stiff constructions which I think will protect the contents since it is not a padded computer bag. I bought a coordinating sleeve for my Chromebook to go with this. It is bigger than I had pictured, but that's fine. It will hold all my stuff and I have the coolest laptop bag EVER. There is a detachable shoulder strap, and small wallet bag. The bag is not shiny, and looks way more expensive than it is. I will repost if there are any issues with durability but this looks to be a pretty well made, striking bag. It was well packed, in a lightweight bag and overwrapped in a plastic bag. I needed a new purse because the one I have currently (that I have that for about 4 years) is falling apart on me, and I wanted a sturdier one. I ordered this one after much thinking and I paid for fast shipping to get it today! I came home from work and was excited to open it... They gave a different color than I ordered, I placed my order for purple and black, and I received gray and black (which I am not too mad about because I like those color combos too) it looked smaller in the photos, but to my discovery it's actually pretty big... The purse is in good condition, but the dangly piece will NOT turn the right way, which kind of erks me. I do like that it comes with a matching wallet though. I think I will try it for a while and see if I like it, even though it seems really bulky. I may return it because I feel deceieved. At least the purse smells good and it's good quality so far. I will come back with an update. **UPDATE** I really tried to use it, it was sturdy and held everything I needed. I think this purse would be for those who like bulky bags. It just wasn't for me. About three years ago, I bought this really cute navy blue and white striped handbag at Target and after about a year and a half of faithful service, the cloth lining started to fall apart. Every fiber of my being wanted to buy a new handbag and replace it but since I couldn't find anything I liked, I painstakingly sewed the lining back into place and carried on using the purse until its state of disrepair was beyond anything my novice sewing skills were capable of fixing. This should indicate that I'm not the kind of person who just buys any handbag. I need it to have compartments. I need it to have a zipper that shields the purse's precious contents from the elements. I need it to be able to fit my Chromebook in the event that I'm traveling somewhere and need to bring it along. I need it to have functionality for both the typical workday and for weekend adventures. Lastly, I don't necessarily "need" it to match with most of my work clothes, but it's an added bonus when I can carry a handbag that makes me look effortlessly put together. And here it is. I can tell that this is a handbag that will last me a long time, and I won't need to get out the needle and thread to maintain it. It looks sharp, it's sturdy, it fits everything, and the color I purchased even included a matching wallet. It was a big leap for me to buy a handbag without being able to have that tactile in-store "yes this will work for me" experience so if you're the kind of person who waffles back and forth about buying a handbag sight unseen via an online retailer, worry no more. This is the one. However, a word of caution: If you're looking for something relatively small, this isn't it. This is a carry-everything-get-the-job-done-and-be-practical-and-cute-at-the-same-time type of handbag so if you're looking for something a little more portable, like for a night out, I'd recommend picking a style that includes the matching wallet so you can use it as a wristlet. ... show more
