  • Good Looking CarPlay Unit That Needed Some Cutting
Color: for Honda Civic 2006-2011 (4G+64G) Vivid OS
I bought this for a 2010 Honda Civic Sedan Lx. I just got it installed. While the installation itself was fairly straightforward, I needed to cut away the plastic in two different spots so that everything fit right. The first spot was the plastic screw mount for the vent. The vent wouldn’t sit flush to the new CarPlay unit without me trimming away the plastic. The second spot was a plastic trim piece in the actual car. The back of the CarPlay unit hit this piece and it wouldn’t sit flush until I cut it out. So other than the frustration of having to cut some plastic, it seems good. The fitment is nice as well. I would recommend finding a YouTube, like the one by John Nguyen, to help you install it. For some reason the CarPlay unit in that video looks different than what I got, hence the adjustments I needed to make. It’s only just been installed, but I’ll update this review if there are any issues with it. Seems to work good so far (knock on wood) ... show more

  • Quality drop
Color: for Honda Civic 2006-2011 (4G+64G) Vivid OS
I feel like their new vivid units are not as well built as their older ones that ran the all blue background. Part of me would like to say the vivid OS takes up an unnecessary amount of processing power so you end up with less than with a more cut down OS. Especially when majority of people are using android auto or apple carplay anyways. I've noticed the newer one drops my bluetooth connection often or the audio quality on startup isnt the cleanest. It cleans up after a few seconds but it gets annoying having to restart the headunit everytime it disconnects from my phone. For those that don't know how to, you go into the vivid screen and hit the bottom right where the clock is. Hit the buttom on the lower right that looks like a settings button and go into general then exit and restart. ... show more

  • 2010 honda civic si w/ Premium Sound and Navigation
Color: for Honda Civic 2006-2011 (4G+64G) Vivid OS
So i pulled the trigger on buying this dasaita 10” android radio, comin from a pioneer avh-4200, im not super happy. I dont feel its worth $500 but i will admit i am not disappointed with the unit so far. First i will say, i wanted this for the wireless carplay(i have an iphone). The car connects with ZLink which has been good to me so far. There are times when it doesnt connect with my phone and i’ll have to shut my car off and turn it back on in order for it to connect to my phone again (currently trying to figure out why this happens so i can prevent it). Very annoying but i went thru a similar problem with my pioneer so i’ve gotten pretty much use to it. I want to say it connects 98% of the time. I am however having difficulty with the unit reading my hondata. Bought the app and it connects, but the gauges dont move which is a HUGE bummer but i’ll figure it out( if anyone has a solution to this problem, please let me know. And i am using the 3.0. 4.0 does not work). Also, the dasaita harness will not fit if you have navi, i had to re-use my Metra 70-1729 harness kit and splice both harnesses together. Color match the wires with the metra harness and everything should turn on including the amp for the sound. And if you are wondering if you can retain your steering wheel functions. The answer is yes you can. The dasaita harness comes with 2 connectors. The smaller one has the functions for the steering controls( if its like mine, it should be a green, blue and black wire and 2 RCA wire). I cut these off at the dasaita connector and splice them into my oem harness( the OEM wire side). Once i did that and put everything together, i was able to program the steering controls in the settings of the dasaita unit. I attached photos with my review for better understanding of the steering wheel connections. Please note, dont set your car on fire and blame me. i do not take any responsibility for any errors done on your part. If you have any questions, feel free to ask ... show more

  • Happy with the purchase but manual should be much better.
Color: for Honda Civic 2006-2011 (4G+64G) Vivid OS
This is essentially a fully featured 10" Android tablet interface for your car stereo; in addition to the radio controls, you can play your favorite games, browse websites, watch YouTube videos and install other apps like you would your phone via its wifi capability or tether to your phone's hotspot and use your cellular data connection. The touch responsiveness is quite good. It takes several seconds to boot up so you'll have to wait longer than your friends' car to start listening to your music. Some of the manufacturer's apps are useless unless you can read Mandarin but they can easily be removed and replaced. Fitting the unit into the dashboard was actually kind of difficult for me. I got it into position alright, but getting all the clips to lock the unit in was a battle. In the end, I lost one of the metal clips down into the dash somewhere near the firewall. As a result, the unit isn't fully secured and the lower right corner is loose. Finding replacement metal clips is impossible unless you go back to the Honda dealership's parts department; they're not sold in any auto store in my area. I wouldn't be surprised if the dealership can't find any either. The manual is a joke (pictures). It briefly explains the features in broken English and provides only a few instructions for installation. Even though it's made for a Civic and there are some good videos that go through the installation procedure, helpful and thorough explanations and illustrations from the manufacturer were expected. System specifications aren't even laid out so it left me searching for things like speaker power output per channel, CPU speed, where the memory chip is, how to properly update or upgrade the unit, etc. Dasaita's website isn't any better for finding this information. I purchased this during the winter months so I don't know how well this unit will hold up in the extreme Mojave Desert summer heat where I live; that heat being concentrated and amplified inside the car. I'd be surprised if it starts up before the car's AC cools things down first. I'm seriously considering purchasing an extended warranty from a 3rd party to address this concern. These kinds of electronics don't typically stand up to heat very well even if it's turned off and despite the fact that this unit doesn't have a lithium battery that tablets typically use as a power source. We'll see. There is a lot to review on this item. I've only just begun to play with it. So far, so good! I will try to remember to update this review in about 6 months after it's been exposed to the summer heat. ... show more
