  • Quality product, breathable and great price.
Size: X-Large Color: Breathable Pro
I purchased the nylon/pvc boot waders by Dark Lightning and decided to send them right back. They didn’t allow very good movement and they were extremely hot. The shoulder straps wanted to try to slip off my shoulders unless I tightened them so much that they gave me a wedgie. These waders have none of those problems. They allow great movement, seem to be very breathable and the shoulder straps are elastic and in a much better position. There is a night and day difference between the two. The front pocket is fairly large and the hand warmer material is very nice. The mesh on the front is not stretchy, but it seems to be ok. I will update my posting after my fishing trip this week. I will be hiking several miles and sometimes in rough terrain. It should be a good test. So far I would absolutely recommend this product. I am 6’2” 230 pounds size 13 foot and the extra large fit perfectly. Update: I am very happy with the waders. They performed very well. No leaks and very comfortable. I did hike up and down the river for about three miles at a time and that exertion made me sweaty, but I was not overly sweaty. I went through thick brush and they held up great. I loved the hand warmer pocket. Really I don’t have any negative comments about them. They seem very durable. Time will tell. ... show more

  • Hard to beat at the price
Size: Large Color: Breathable Pro
Hard to beat for the price. They size good and are pretty durable. I did get a few leaks (I’m rough on my waders and put a lot of miles on them so not suprised) the included patch kit has worked really good. Very good resistance to the cold and wind.

  • Seems solid! Snug fit??
Size: X-Large Color: Breathable Pro
Just received the product today. Got it out of the box and it seems like it's made with some solid material. Can't tell that much off a difference from my breathable frogg toggs or field and stream waders, but for the price I paid compared to the other two, definitely seems to be on par for a solid pair of breathable waders. I got the XL and tried them on and they do fit but they are a little tight in the crotch/hip area to the point where I don't think I can do much bending over without looking silly which is where the 4 stars comes in. I am currently 5'9" 255lbs (down from 295lbs) and on a weightloss journey so I do plan on slimming down even more but going off the measurements on the picture i thought the XL would be the better fit. I wear a size 10.5 shoe, 38 pants, 29 inseam. I have that kind of athletic broad shoulder big arm build but the dad bod belly. Trying them on they fit amazing in my feet, great up the legs. The crotch is pretty tight, the hips were more snug than I'd like, the waist/belly was snug. I didnt want to go to the XXL because the feet recommended size like 13-15 feet (I'm 10.5), the hip/waist recommended size was like 52" (I'm 38/40 in pants), the recommended inseam was like 35.5" (I'm 29/30) so I thought the XXL I'd be swimming in. I do plan on losing more weight so I believe I can continue to use these and maybe help motivate me to lose faster while they're snug. But if your build is anything like mine and you're not planning on getting smaller id recommend going XXL for the extra room. Overall without trying them out in the water and just trying them on at the house they sit at a 4 star for me. The price is 5 star, material seems to be 4.5-5 star, the fast free delivery is always a 5 star, but the fit chart is what gets me to give it a 4 star. I will try and come back with a full tour review when I use them next week for trout fishing. Overall I'd highly recommend the product and you could always return them if you do want/need the bigger or smaller size. ... show more

  • Good fit and plenty durable
Size: Large Color: Breathable Pro
5'-11", 180 lbs, 34" waist. Size large. These are working great. Good fit and way better quality than the cheap PVC ones that tear almost immediately. Plenty of room for warm clothing but not so much that they're baggy with just shorts on.

  • What amazing value and quality
Size: Large Color: Breathable Pro
These waders are absolutely amazing at the price. Very comfortable even on a warm day, with some thin thermals your warm on a whipping 55 degree day. The pockets are great, everything fits as should. I am 180 pounds 6'1" shoe size 11 /1/2. The large is basically a perfect fit! Baggy when its warm and still plenty of space when you need to bundle up!. Stocking are neoprene and water proof. I just hop in barefoot and am very comfortable but also comfy with two layers on the feet when its cold. This is a must buy AMAZING VALUE. ... show more

  • Poor size options; Leaked on Day 1
Size: Large Color: Breathable Pro
These showed up on my recommended items a few weeks ago. I am an avid fly fisherman and get out 50+ times a year. Always nice to have an extra pair of waders for friends or in case of leaks on my main pair, and the price was great so I decided to pick them up. My first issue is with the sizing. I am basically as "medium" as they come. 5'9", 160 lbs, size 10.5 foot. None of the size options fit my extremely average build. Reading through the size chart (tip for seller: In the US we measure clothing in inches only. Converting from feet and inches to just inches is mildly annoying) puts me in a medium size, except the foot size is at best a size and a half too small. I looked at the large-short option which somehow has a longer inseam than the large, and has a "hipline" of 58"! I knew I'd be swimming in those, so ended up going with the large. As expected from the measurements, they are very wide. I could easily gain 100 lbs and still fit into these waders. So even though the waders were nearing circus tent status, I figured I'd give them a whirl in the river this morning. I snuck out of the house for an "early meeting" and headed out to the river. Waders went on easy enough, gravel guards were a little snug around my Simms boots, but overall worked well so I went and got in the water. The first thing I noticed was the water was a little colder than it has been in my other waders this week. In the summer I typically wear shorts under my waders so this is somewhat expected. Water temp was 54°. The second thing I noticed is the fish were not biting as frequently as they normally do. Not sure if that can be blamed on the waders though. Fished for about an hour, landed three rainbows. Nothing to write home about. Then I got out of the river and the trouble started. As soon as I stepped out I looked down and noticed the waders were bulging with water from the knee down. I slowly trudged back to my car and peeled them off, leaving a nice little pond in the parking space. From where I was wet it seems like they waders leaked at the top of the reinforced section (ironic right?). The worst part was my shorts were soaked. I had to go home, fishing rod in hand, and change clothes before I could head to the actual office. Caught red handed by the wife thanks to these waders. Overall you get what you pay for. Had these not leaked right out of the gate I probably could have gotten over the weird sizing issues, but quality issues from the get-go = quick return. ... show more

  • Awesome waders
Size: Large Color: Breathable Pro
These are great. I bought these years ago and have used them a lot. They have held up as good or better than the high end waders that are 4-5x the price.

Size: X-Large Color: Breathable Pro
Dark Thunder Pro Waders Size XL. Actual Measurements: Chest/Bust 48”; Waist 50”; Hip 52”; Overall Stocking Sole to Fabric Top 56”; Stocking Sole to Crotch 34”; Crotch to Fabric Top 22”; Stocking Sole to Gravel Guard Top Seam 6”; Gravel Guard Height Coverage 4”; Stocking length 10” (Men’s size 8); Stocking Height 8”. I am a 200lb, 6” ht. male. The XL size fits very good except for the small Stocking size. I definitely would not down size. The Gravel Guard will cover up to 4” down over your boot and has a nice clip on front to attach to shoestrings to keep it in place. Maximum 6” Wading Boot inside Height (if using Gravel Guard). Most Wading Boots are slightly taller than 6”. My Mid-Height Boots are 5-1/2” inside footbed to top. Keep in mind, you will need extra length in the crotch to stocking sole dimension when bending over. Waders appear to be well made for the purchase price. ... show more
