    • Flickers at 240hz if you have bad DP cables

UPDATE to 5 ⭐: Found that this worked fine at 144hz at first and then flickered at 240hz, but it turns out to have been the DP cables that I was using. I thought I had decent DP cables, but they must have been knock offs. Using the DP cable that was inside this package and plugging it from the KVM to the video card seemed to fix 99.99% of the flicker. Then I decided to get some new top of the line CableMatters DP 2.1 cables and hooked them from the KVM to the video card, and then from the KVM to the monitor, and everything is working great now. Definitely the best KVM so far for high refresh rate. Another thing that I like about this KVM is that when you switch between computers, it completely terminates the video connection to the other computer, which means your 2nd monitor now becomes the primary monitor on the computer that you're not connected to. This is helpful to me because when I used other KVM switches, it would always keep the video stream active enough that the computers thought they had a second monitor connected. This would lead to windows opening up on a ghost monitor that you had no control over, so you would have to switch back to move the windows to the 2nd monitor and then switch back. Also, the MacBook Air doesn't get stuck in 1440p resolution when it is not the active computer, which makes it easier to see/read if you need to look at it while being active on the other computer. Hope that wasn't confusing to read. TLDR; great KVM for DisplayPort and high resolution/high refresh rates! The unit works well, even with a USB-C to DisplayPort from a MacBook Air M2. The odd part is the 240hz seems to work fine when mirroring the MacBook, but the feed to the PC flickers on 240hz. Using 1440p resolution. 144hz works fine. I've put an order in for a replacement to see if it's just a lemon device. Using 8K DP 1.4 cables, swapped plenty of times, RTX 3080Ti, has no problem with 240hz without the switch, so there is something on the switch that is causing an aggressive flicker on 240hz. Again, hoping the replacement works better and then this can be a 5 star review at that point. ... show more

I recently purchased a new computer, and wanted to connect to my Samsung Odyssey G7. I researched various options to deal with the fact that the monitor has only one DP port, and found this DP KVM. On paper it looks great, and apparently lots of folks love it... but it does not work for my setup. I've swapped out cables, tried one machine by itself, verified that both machines and monitor and all cables are working fine... using the cables provided with this KVM so it isn't a cable version mismatch. I hate giving bad reviews, but this product simply doesn't work as advertised. For the record, the Keyboard/Mouse part of the KVM works fine, but that isn't useful without the display. I should of gone with this one works as intended, no monitor flickering, relatively quick switch respond time, the remote button does not operate but I don't care much I VHB taped the unit onto my monitor riser so easy access to push the switch on the unit itself, thats the only reason I gave it 4 stars. lots of folk will want to use the remote it will matter to them. If the remote would work this unit really deserve the 5 stars. in my case I have access to 2 additional USB ports right on the unit itself so thats a bonus of sort. It did recognize my logitech unifying device I had no issues with it. ... show more

Works just great when connected to my DELL Precision 5570 w/a WD15 dock. When direct connected to the DELL OPTIPLEX mini tower it is very iffy. Screen blanks about every other second .... very distracting. Using dual Dell U2717 monitors

I have an Alienware Ultrawide Curved Gaming Monitor, Model: AW3821DW and two PC's. The Display Port switch remained with a blank screen when connected to either computer. Continued troubleshooting swapping each cable, port and PC. Confirmed individually the cables work without the DP switch. Bought new display cables and they work without the DP switch. Connecting a single cable to the DP switch and swapping each known good cable did not yield a picture. Decided just to use the shorcut keys on the monitor. ... show more
