By incorporating top-of- the-line materials like Gore-Tex and Vibram with a weight-saving platform, we made our tough, versatile work boots for men feel like the kind of boot you want to put on at the end of a long day. This new last is designed to cup your heel for a secure fit while offering a little more room in the toe box to accommodate feet that are carrying heavy loads. It also comes with a dual- density EVA midsole for extra shock absorption and comfort. The oil- and slip- resistant outsole has a low profile 90-degree heel making it versatile enough for indoor and outdoor work. For really tough jobs it has an abrasion- resistant heel cap, an all-leather upper, a non-metallic safety toe and a waterproof, breathable Gore-Tex liner.

    • Brilliant Boot w/Aftermarket Insole

Use: I'm a construction project manager working on small, residential remodels. I am on my feet 10-hours a day on construction sites not just yelling and screaming at people but also 'working'. I'm gluing pipes together, digging holes, putting up framing, running wire, etc. Not just office work. I needed a boot that works. Experience with work boots: I've owned boots of all shapes and sizes from heavy duty steel-toed, thick soled monsters that tired out my quads and gave me blisters on my Achilles to lightweight "tennis shoe boots". Don't know the official classification for the last one, but boots that provide minimal protection while looking like a boot and are cushy soft all day. Price range: I was looking for a boot under $200. Obviously, there are going to be nicer boots with better performance for much more money, so my review is based upon my price target. Product experience: I've owned this boot for 10-plus months using it on a daily basis in a moderate climate (no snow), lots of days with 100-degree heat. Modifications: aftermarket insole - I needed a little bit more cushioning / padding and have not worn the boot with its original insole. Review: 4.5" Vicious is the perfect boot for my application. Very breathable and not too constricting. Break-in time was minimal and it has still held its shape and form almost a year after purchase with no signs of significant structural degradation. Boot has nicks, scratches and cuts from kicking out blocking, adjusting framing members and me being an impatient hooligan on the job site. I’ve not treated this boot kindly and it is holding up. However, synthetic material around the toe box is showing significant wear and I’m expecting I’ll need a new pair in another year. I read other reviews and have found consistent results/observations. This boot is extremely comfortable and has enough protection to meet my needs. Would I buy again?: I occasionally indulge myself and try on boots at the building supply store when I’m in there picking up parts. I wonder if there was a better boot out there for me and I made a mistake blindly buying Danners online from Amazon without trying out other pairs. I can say confidently the Vicious is the most comfortable boot I’ve put on and I have no intention of switching out when this boot dies on me. Sure, a pair of Red Wings might last me longer but they are twice as much and half as comfortable. Improvements?: Materials could be a little bit more durable but it's always a trade-off. A heartier boot won't breathe as well and will be less comfy. Also, price point would be higher. Overall: Best sub-$200 boot as long as you budget in a replacement at the 2-year mark. ... show more

Worth every penny, the most comfortable boot I’ve ever worn, and I'm an old working guy. I’m in these boots from 5am to 3pm all week long and if they weren’t comfortable they’d be in the trash after a week. They’ve proven very durable, still looking almost new after 2 lace and 1 insole replacements.

    • Very nice boots, comfy and roomy without feeling loose

Pretty good boots. They didn't have much of a break in period, they felt pretty good from the get go. Nice toebox, roomy without feeling like my foot was sloshing around inside. Decent weight considering the composite toe cap. No hot spots or digging of the toe cap into my foot. Vibram sole, very grippy, but also very long lasting. All of my hiking boots have Vibram soles, and they last forever, while also having very good grip. A big plus for these boots. Leather hasn't cut yet, but it does seem a bit soft and scuffs easily. No problem, I just use ShoeGoo to cover any scratches. They are work boots, meant to be abused! The only problem I have is the top of the boot is digging into the side of my shin on one side. The padding is quite minimal at the top, and it's causing some pain after a long day walking around in them. I think this may go away as they are broken in more, and the top begins to hold a curved shape (typical of most boots, it's kind of straight right now). If this continues to be a problem later on, I may update, but for now, I accept there is still some break in period. Overall, a very comfy boot, decent weight, and they look great! ... show more

    • There isn't another work boot that satisfies my feet

These boots are the best work boot ever. I'm the pickiest boot guy ever. It needs to be a lightweight toe. It needs to be waterproof...like walk in puddles waterproof. It needs to be comfortable from day one. My feet cannot get fatigued at work when doing a 9hr shift. This boot here is the only one that will check all the boxes. I haven't found a boot that has a better waterproofing system...and I've tried every boot maker out there. Given my love for a good boot, I've seen many over the years that caught my eye. I return all of them, and buy the same Vicious boots I've been buying. Best boot hands down ... show more

If I could give them less than 1 star I would. Wore the boots not even a week and they started to split they said they would not replace or refund that perhaps we could go through the manufactures warranty and see if it was covered. Horrible customer service and when I took a picture from my phone and attempted to upload it would not upload to show the proof. DO NOT buy these boots or from this seller ... show more
