I have only had these for just under two weeks now but have already worn them maybe about 5-6 times. I’m usually a size 10D in athletic shoes but a size 9D fit me just right. The feel right out of the box was amazing for me with the exception for the “collar” that wraps around the lower shin. where there was some irritation from the stiff leather. I did wear thick socks to help and now with the same socks I can’t feel the collar dig into my leg anymore. I’m sure there is still some breaking in to do and hopefully they only get more comfortable the more I wear them. I really don’t have anything negative to date except for maybe a couple observations; First, I really didn’t like the laces so I replaced them with some leather ones that I found here in amazon and they looked fantastic. Secondly, as expected the white wedge soles are pretty hard to keep clean, they are white and if you are trying to keep them white you will have to spend sometime cleaning them often. The leather on these boots feels of high quality and the construction of the boot feels to be of good craftsmanship. I have a pair of Red Wing Iron Rangers (size 8D) as well and they are not nearly as comfortable out of the box or even after being broken in. They are very different boots but the comfort of the wedge sole surprised me to the point that I feel like they should be compared. I do have a pair of Red Wing Moc Toes (8131) arriving in the next couple of days which is a direct competitor with the Bull Run Moc Toe and I’m dieing to see how they compare. All in all I am a huge fan of this boot and I’m excited to see how they age and I will definitely update this review if anything changes in how I feel about this boot. ... show more

    • Get yourself a pair of the best boots in America.
Size: 11 Wide Color: Brown
This boot seems to run wider than other Danners, probably due to the mock toe. It fits just right but if you normally order a wide (W) in Danners consider just the normal D in these. Overall great boots, I wore them out in some slick light snow and they are truly anti slip compared to other boots I own. I can't wait for them to get broken in, as a well worn pair of Danners are among the most comfy footwear in existence. Made in USA and durable, Danner is my go to. I have a pair pushing 10 years that are still serviceable and ultra comfy and with Danner's resoling service (something I plan to take advantage of soon) they will last another decade easy. There are a few things America still makes that noone else can compete with and quality boots are one of them. Buy USA made over that Chinese crap, yes you will spend more but they will last 10 times as long and you will have the piece of mind that you are supporting American craftsmen and an American industry. We also wore Danners in the Marine Corps, so there is that too. ... show more

So, I wanted an old-school "just-a-boot" boot. That is what these are. The sole is soft, similar to the foam on the sole of a running shoe, the boot itself is unsplit leather...no lining, no fanciness, just leather. This is what I wanted, and this is what i got. They feel like real boots. They are stiff and harder to break in than other boots, but the feel of these is much more genuine. If I had wanted a thiner leather or fake pleather, that would have been easier to break in, I would have ordered different (and cheaper) boots. I would say that I endured my boots the first week, wore them the second week, and enjoyed them from week three on... The sole is nice, and I get the feeling that these boots are perfect for a warehouse worker or someone who works on concrete floors...they definitely lighten the blow on my back by day's end. because of the solid construction of the boot, they do not feel like you are wearing soft sole shoes like a sneaker...more like wearing dress shoes with a solid leather sole, but walking on carpet...stiff, but no-impact. Because of the material, i would not expect these to last long on rough surfaces or if you drag your foot or heal when walking. I have worn my daily for a little over a month now, and have no wear marks...they still look new. I have no reason not to give this product 5 stars, other than they did not exceed my expectation...they simply met my expectation. They are quality American made boots...which is getting harder to find these days. The seller, Outdoor Equipped is a veteran owned company.     • Danner Quality and Customer Service second to none!!!!

I ordered these boots based upon previous reviews submitted by customers. In most shoes, I wear a size 12, which is what I ordered these in. Upon receiving the boots, I could tell they would need a break in period. At the end of the first day of wearing the boots, I found that the toenail on my big toe of my left foot had bruised. I have recently had several abdomenal surgeries while fighting some cancer, and as a result, I have neuropathy (loss of feeling) in both feet. I initially thought that the bruising was because the boots needed further break in, so I wore them again with the same results. I called Danner customer service and explained my situation and that I had purchased the boots through an Amazon retailer. At this point, I figured I would at least try to do something instead of having to eat the purchase price of $161 for boots that did not fit. Danner Customer Service was fantastic!!!! The representative I spoke to said that Danner could not issue a refund, and I replied that I was hoping to get the boots replaced for a size 13. The rep told me to ship the boots to Danner Returns along with a letter explaining what happened and they would see what they could do. Within a week of Danner Returns receiving the boots, I had a new pair of boots in a size 13. These boots fit great with no issues to my toes. All I can say is that I will definitely order from Danner again, the customer service is second to none. Plus, these boots are quality made in the USA. ... show more
