  • Great quality tent!
I went camping for a week on the river in December. It was relatively easy to put up by myself and I am 5'4 130 lb. It probably took an hour to set the tent up and get everything set up inside. The center pole was a bit of a challenge because the fabric is a little heavy when the floor is nailed down. I had to sit and use my legs to push the center pole the rest of the way to center but I was successful. The temps dropped to 28 a couple nights. I also had a whole night where it rained really heavy along with strong wind gusts. Not a drop of rain in my tent, and just a little shaking but the lashings held really well. The whole tent was well made right down to the zippers. Heat retention was alot more than a regular poly tent, but I still had to use two heaters because I couldnt close the vents in the top. There are a few flaws I would love to see remedied. One is the vents in the top you cant get to from the inside. You need to go outside and have a long pole or something to try to push the fabric down. There is nowhere to tie fairy lights or something similar up which would be really useful for people that like more light in their tent. The gaps between zippers (different zippers for the door and the side walls) are big enough to let in insects. There are also some stitching flaws. The stove hole stitching is off on the roof. I definitely have respect for this tent. I believe you can actually live in this thing long term and I bought the brown PU coated fabric which keeps it dry and keeps people from seeing all but the faintest light from outside. ... show more

  • Good quality durable
Size: 13.2 ft Style: Khaki | Sealed Roof Stove Jack
The media could not be loaded. I had done alot of research on canvas bell tents and found this one to be in my price range and yet had good quality and the reviews were great . The attached video is how it is standing with 50 plus mile a hour winds. I also purchased the danshel rain fly for added protection aganst the uv rays . It was simple to set up . One recommendation I would make is if you will be in high winds do your self a favor and order 12" stakes. Trust me they will hold the tent down in high winds. We have slept in quite alot. I wouldn't recommend any thing bigger than a full size air mattress in this but I only bought the 13ft. This holds heat very well. I absolutely love this tent. We are excited to use this in November when the snow flies here in michigan. ... show more

  • So far so GOOD!
The media could not be loaded. I’m young but not particularly strong and I was able to set up the 16ft tent on my own! The bag is pretty heavy, but once it’s unraveled, it’s easy enough to move around. The center pole wasn’t hard or heavy to put in place either! I am impressed with the quality of the gear as well. Sturdy metal poles and stakes. I don’t anticipate them breaking any time soon. I know I didn’t quite set up the lines properly, so the walls are a little weird on mine, but practice makes perfect, right? I watered the tent with a hose for about 5-10 minutes in the same general area to see if there would be any leaks. All the water rolled off very easily! The inside of the tent was dry, both on the canvas top and on the floor. There WAS some water that leaked in through the window, but that’s because I didn’t set the lines properly and the wall was bent. So, if set up 100% correct, I don’t anticipate any problems. Zippers are pretty strong so far, stronger than the typical tent, but I haven’t owned it too long, so we shall see how it goes in time. And the mesh windows seem to be made of pretty resilient material as well! So far, I would recommend it! ... show more

  • Stove jack cover/flap needs minor improvement
Love the easy setup and break down. I can do all of this with my 11 y/o in about 15 minutes. We used a tent stove on the first use where it was 40 degrees and raining at Timothy Lake in Oregon. I was impressed to see the rain beading right off the roof like rain-x on the windshield of a car. It’s the 20’ model. I think the fiberglass cloth material for the stove jack is thin, and your scissors can run easily like cutting paper. Finesse and attention to detail is needed for that part. A high temperature silicone material could be an improvement for Danchel quality to have a look at. The only thing I would note as a flaw, is that the rain flap which covers the upper stove jack is in too close proximity if you install a chimney pipe. I had rolled and tied that part up during use - but it still made contact and a couple of holes were burned in it. In my opinion, Danchel should modify those flaps in a way to prevent that happening. It’s a bell tent with a sharp apex which can collect smoke during the ordinary operation of a tent stove. More vents up above would help. Great tent! ... show more
