  • Exceptional Quality Knife Set – Sharp, Balanced, and Beautiful
Size: 18-Pc Color: Glacial White
The DALSTRONG Gladiator Series 18-piece knife set is absolutely impressive. Right out of the box, every knife is razor-sharp and ready to use. The high-carbon German stainless steel holds an edge extremely well and makes slicing, chopping, and prep work effortless. The knives are well-balanced with comfortable, ergonomic handles that feel secure even during longer cooking sessions. The variety in this set covers everything you could need, from precision tasks to heavier cutting jobs. The knife block is sturdy and looks great on the countertop, giving the kitchen a professional, high-end feel. After regular use, the blades are still performing like new with minimal maintenance. This set is perfect for serious home cooks or anyone looking to upgrade their kitchen tools. Excellent craftsmanship, great value for the price, and a set you’ll enjoy using every day. • Where have you been since I started cooking (age 15 now 52)? Thank YOU Dalstrong for caring! Where have you been since I started cooking (age 15 now 52)? Thank YOU Dalstrong for caring!
What can I say? I mean, I absolutely love these knives. I love everything Dalstrong. Ever since I purchased my first Dalstrong product, which I believe was a pair of cooking tweezers, I have been obsessed with their website & subsequently their knives & such. Yes, they are a bit on the pricey side, HOWEVER, they are MORE than WORTH every single DOLLAR you invest. Take the time to visit their website, look at their videos, YouTube, Instagram, etc.; do your research. See for yourselves just how much time, effort, and dedication they put into creating their products. Their knife series' are not only creative but aesthetically appealing & they actually get the job done. They are strong, durable beautiful knives. If I had enough space in my house, I would collect them all! They are sharp right out of the box & they work so smoothly & make life just so much easier in the kitchen. I love to cook. I enjoy all the chopping, cutting, etc. I can spend hours in the kitchen cooking & I would be in heaven & having Dalstrong products to help me along the way just makes it that much more enjoyable for me. Please do yourself a favor. If you love cooking as much as I do, invest in a set of good quality durable knives that will last you a lifetime. I am not done yet. I am still aiming for the Shogun collection. Luckily I have 2 kitchens in my house so I have an excuse to get a second set of high-quality knives. Dalstrong is my go-to & I highly recommend them to all you home cooks & professional chefs as well since some professional chefs are already taking advantage of these amazing quality knives. And lets not forget about the hunters, fishermen, butchers, etc., they have knives for everyone. I can't brag about their products enough. You just gotta go check out their website. But be prepared to spend hours on your computer because once I got on, I could not stop window shopping. My wish list just keeps growing every day. Yes, I visit their website at least once a day. I am not exaggerating... I give them 10 out of 10 stars THANK YOU FOR CARING DALSTRONG FAMILY! ... show more

  • Amazing set for the price Amazing set for the price
Since you're looking at this particular set, I'm going to guess you've probably set a limit to how much you want to spend on what's likely going to be your every day set of knives. You might own more expensive (and arguably better) knives, but you’d rather not see them used by anyone who is not as concerned as you are with their integrity and longevity. You’ve also seen first hand the difference between the Wusthof Gourmet series and the classic Wusthof, and you also know Henkel doesn’t quite cut it. If I guessed right and you’re considering buying this set for these or similar reasons, do not hesitate: buy it right now! These knives are a cut above your usual value knife sets. Cool, sexy looks, sharp blades that stay sharp, full tang, well balanced overall, sturdy but ergonomic handles with no sharp lines. They even sound great - you know, that tuning fork ring they make if you just give them a gentle tap - so it’s really easy to pick up the right knife with eyes closed if you have perfect pitch! :P Everything most knives in this price range aren’t. I actually ended up liking these knives so much I now use them more often than my Global set. This is not to say the Globals are not the superior knives, it’s just that these Dalstrong knives are *perfectly fine* for most things someone who cooks for pleasure and not for a living will find themselves using them for. I will say that one of the knives I received had a small flaw - a crack in the side of the handle that looks like it occurred on riveting. I contacted Dalstrong support. Three days later I had the replacement. No runaround, no BS. They looked at the pictures I sent and just replied asking for my shipping address. Honestly, how often does that happen? (Thanks Rachelle for the terrific customer support experience!) You may rest assured that whatever issue you have with the product, they’ll make it right. I believe other reviews mentioned the awesome customer support as well, and I can confirm these guys really stand by their product. After the very positive experience with this set, I do think I’ll try some of their more premium knives soon (they’re still not even close to premium-priced). In short: These are value-priced knives that have none (or close to none) of the shortcomings you’d expect for the price, while blowing some of the established choices out of the water in some regards. Certainly the modern, streamlined looks will strike some conversations (yes, I know, that’s highly subjective). ... show more

  • What a Huge Difference
First, we could not be more pleased with this 18 piece "Gladiator" set of knifes; across the board the appearance, craftsmanship, weight/balance, sharpness, and block (which is huge BTW) are all top shelf! Further, I can honestly tell you all that I have never written a product review before so that should tell you that I am really impressed. Disclaimer/Quality: I must admit I have never owned a high quality set of knives before (thought a Faberware Set in a block was high quality--NOT!), but I cannot imagine a better set of knives for the novice/wannabe Chef's like my Fiance' and I. Until we got this set, we never really thought about using different types of knives for the various areas of cooking/prepping in the kitchen. Our AHA moment came when we discovered/realized that using the right type of knife for the job, and the reasons why, make all the difference--I assure you it does! So much so, that we now have the picture and description that Dalstrong provided taped up over the block and give each other a hard time if either of us use the wrong knife for the task. :o) Price/Value: In my opinion, even at $399.00, it truly is an amazing price for a potentially lifetime set of knives. So you know, we also ordered the Gladiator series Meat Cleaver with the set. All I can say about this meat cleaver is Holy $#!%! I took one look at this thing and immediately thought it should be registered as a lethal weapon! Not only is it extremely well crafted and gorgeous, this thing is very big, razor sharp and weighs a ton--I told my Fiance' that I needed to start working out just to be able to wield it properly. Bottom Line: Great job Dalstrong--Keep up the great work and reasonable price points--I am already looking for more Gladiator Series knives. ... show more

  • I know what I am talking about! Outstanding Knives, Better Customer Service!
Size: 8-Pc Color: Black
Let me start by saying I grew up in the restaurant business and am the owner of a successful catering company, so after 50 years in food service I think I know a little bit about cooking utensils. When my my 30 year old set of Henckels "Pro S's" started showing their wear, I did what I always do and hit the internet to research replacements. Yes. there were plenty of more expensive knives to choose from (I'm sorry but spending $2000 on a set of knives for home use is just stupid) but when I came across this set of Dalstrong Gladiator Series I was intrigued. From the photos, the knives looked nicely made and I liked the fact that Dalstrong was a small, family run business, that is just now trying to break into an already crowded market. When Black Friday rolled around and I saw that this set was on sale, I just couldn't resist trying them out. And boy am I ever glad I did! The set came very nicely packaged in a nice handled box and the knives shrink wrapped in one box, and the block in another. The block is beautifully finished wood and is quite substantial in size and weight. It is also tall, which is the one minor complaint that I have. As others have said, the block is a little too tall to fit under the kitchen cabinets without having to pull the entire set out onto the counter in order to remove a knife. (This was not a big deal to me as I found a space where there is no cabinet overhang) But, because of the size, once the knives are in the block, you can't help but notice just how beautiful the set is. Your eye is drawn right to it. I have already had several comments on how lovely the set looks even though I have only had it a few days. But I digress. The true star of the show are the knives themselves. They are truly superb. As soon as you pull a knife out of the box, you can tell that it is beautifully hand crafted with a great attention to detail. The gorgeous wood handles are perfectly rounded and fit to each specific tang, and the forging and honing of the steel is top notch. The finish on the knives is perfect, and they come out of the box razor sharp. In the hand, the knives feel perfectly balanced with no cornered edges to cause fatigue or get a little painful when slicing or chopping a lot of food. The grip is solid, and the weight is just enough to cut easily through whatever you are cutting without feeling heavy. More importantly the knives are not too light (my main complaint with Japanese knives) which can get dangerous as the blade can slide off of the food and cut into your fingers instead. All in all, the knives are a true pleasure to cut with and you might find yourself just looking for food to slice, dice or chop just because they are that much fun to use. Just listen to a blade sing when you pull it out of the block and you will understand what I am talking about. Believe it or not, the customer service is even better than the knives! I had a minor issue with the set I received and not wanting to go through the whole return process with Amazon, I decided to contact Dalstrong directly. All I can say is WOW! Not only were my emails responded to almost immediately, but the issue itself was rectified very quickly. These people STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT AND WILL GO ABOVE AND BEYOND ANYTHING YOU CAN ASK FOR TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT. With Dalstrong they say that customer truly is their main priority and it is! They are not just saying that in order to lure you into buying their product. I know for a fact that you are going to have a long and happy relationship with Dalstrong.. In conclusion, all I can say is BUY THESE KNIVES, YOU CAN"T GO WRONG!!! ... show more

  • We’ll see. We’ll see.
Received the set today. With that in mind, I’m writing the review about the individual set that I got, not the Dalstrong product line. Delivery: The knives came individually wrapped and tip-protected. The set split between 3 boxes, the block and 2 boxes packed with knives. All neatly packed. Each knife, as I said, with a plastic tip protector, sheathed in cardboard and wrapped in bubble wrap. In my case, observing the packaging that I received, it’s beyond me how could anyone cut their fingers to the bone unwrapping, as some reviewers said they did. Construction: Superb. Simply superb. No lose parts, no unfinished surfaces. I’m not sure where other reviewers found “sharp edges”, in mynindividual case - superb construction. Block: again, having read other reviews I was expecting sloppy glue job, cracks in the block etc. What I received is far from that - a superb block. Yes, the logo is plastic. I don’t care. The block is hard wood. Nicely finished. Period. The socket for the sharpening iron is a bit through - that’s what gives you the clue, it’s wood. Not plastic glued witn veneer. It is solid wood. Balance. I’m not a professional, rather an amateur chef, but I cook for the family of 5 a lot. And I mean it - a LOT. I love it and yo me working with a good tool in the kitchen is as important as cooking a lamb kabob to juiciest perfection. These knives are very well balanced. The 8” chef just asks to put it in action right away - the weight of the knife is right there, comfortably fit in your hand. I chopped up 3 onions with it just for the pleasure of the experience. Bagged the onion - will put it to a good use tomorrow. Again, right out of the box, the knives that matter are reasonably sharp (and not excessively), offer good balance and are nice looking tools all around. Bottom lime: great delivery. Great packaging. Awesome set. I cannot speak for the long term performance just yet. Having read some other reviews that claim that the blades developed rust, I resolved to hard washing and wiping the blades with a lightly oiled paper towel. Something I do anyway. Will update if detwct any issues going forward. That’s why I keep the “durability” section vacant our now. ... show more

  • Very impressed with the quality and performance Very impressed with the quality and performance
Size: 8-Pc Color: Black
I love everything about this knife set and am very happy with my purchase. The wooden storage block is gorgeous and it's solid. I read the other review where someone thought it was just Acacia wood veneer, so I looked down into the knife slots for myself and I could see that it's the same wood all the way through. It looks just beautiful on my counter! I'm also very pleased with the assortment of knives that come in the set and think they're a good value at the price. It doesn't contain any specialty items like cheese or tomato knives, but it has everything I need to handle my kitchen on a day to day basis - a chef's knife, santoku, a granton edged carving knife, a bread knife, utility, serrated utility, a paring knife and a honing rod. The chef's knife is a little heavier than my old one, but on the other hand, the extra heft seems to make it function better than my old knife when I chop with it. I tried it on chopping up raw acorn squash, and it was like night and day compared to my old Wusthof or Mercer knives. The knives perform well, are super sharp, have a very comfortable handle, and a good heft to them. The Chef's knife also has a bit higher blade than my Wusthof and a longer guard to protect my hand from getting cut. After having had the chance to use most of the blades multiple times now, I remain impressed as well as very satisfied with their quality and with this purchase. This is exceptional quality at an affordable price. Recommend! ... show more

  • High quality knife set
I received the Dalstrong Gladiator knife set a couple of weeks ago and I am very pleased with this purchase. I am not a professional chef, nor do I play one on TV, but I do enjoy cooking and good tools make the process that much more enjoyable. Whenever I see an item on line that interests me, I always read the reviews starting with the worst ratings first. There aren’t many for this product, which was a good sign, and those that were there didn’t appear to be major issues. The 85% of 5 star reviews should give a good indication of the level of customer satisfaction. I’ve used various knives from the set (not all yet) every day since getting them. My observations are they are very well designed with a pleasing appearance, they are well crafted and well balanced, they feel good in the hand and are easy to handle, and they are sharp. With the quality steel used in the design I imagine these knives should last a very long time with minimal maintenance. Some comments spoke of shoddy workmanship on the wood handles or fittings. I did not find this to be the case as all the handles match up to the metal tang of the blade perfectly. The mounting block is a fine piece of woodwork and I can see no issues with it. It is big and heavy, but I’ve received compliments on it from friends. I agree with one other post that recommended not using a green pad to clean the knives, or any knives for that matter. I also never put knives through the dishwasher and occasionally wipe them down with cooking oil to maintain the surface. But that’s me. I did not comment on durability as I have had this set for a minimal amount of time. I would be surprised if they failed to deliver over the long haul and will comment further should they not. Overall, this set is aesthetically pleasing and does very well what it is supposed to do. I highly recommend this Dalstrong set. ... show more
