This reel is a great value. I put it to the test today off the Washington coast fishing for lingcod and rockfish in 500 to 700 feet of water. It had no problem working 2 pounds of lead or bringing up 20 pound lingcod in rough water with the boat pitching heavily. I loaded it with a little over 400 yard of 50lb power pro and still had room for a mono top shot. ... show more

    • Amazing reel for the price
I heard Daiwa USA will not service this reel. I found a few parts that I wanted for backup from Daiwa USA. This reel is the same as Daiwa Tanacom 500. The only drawback at first was trying to read display from different languages but Google translator fixed that. I would highly recommend this reel.
