Really feeling this reel. Paired it with an okuma ultralight but soon to change. Rod feels great reeling in fish and the drag click is almost silent when doing so. This might turn some people off but for me it seems to add to the quality. The weight is light but at the same time heavy enough to feel like it’s good quality. Size 2000 - For a budget reel; which is what I generally use for stock trout fishing, I'm impressed. The fit, finish and quality are well above the common discount reels you can buy here or at discount stores. Japanese engineering excellence! I did order after-market carbonx drag washers because I want long lasting smooth drag power when needed. They'll probable outlast the reel, but I don't care. I loaded it with 8# braid on a 7' light Shakespeare wild rod and the weight and balance are perfect for throwing small presentations. Take care of it and it'll probably last a long time. If not, I'll be back to update after the summer. Peace out Update - I forgot to mention that the line lay was high on the spool, but they supply extra washers if needed. I added one small washer and re-spooled the reel and it's great! I'm very happy with this combo...tight lines. ... show more

Perfect fishing reel I just wish that it had a PVC sticker in the Box because why am I buying name brand and it doesn't give me sticker for my car? Like I want to plaster Daiwa all over my car. But in all seriousness I think that this is a pretty perfect spinning reel I think that it's a little bit cheaper than the previous model only because it uses a I think composite plastic or graphite or whatever it is sort of arm that they use it's not metal like the original 20/20 Crossfire and the clicker thing on the top is a little more Hollow sounding but I think that they only did this combined with the extra ball bearings and l-drive thing to make it sort of cheaper to manufacture just to keep price down as much as possible so people can still get a quality spinning reel because if you look at the prices now of the 2020 Crossfire it's actually $45 now even though like a few weeks ago it was $35 so I think what they're doing here is they're trying to keep a relatively low prices so people can still get into fishing and get a quality spinning reel and so they can compete against these terrible Amazon brands. I think it's pretty good quality I don't have any flexing issues with it I think that they give you a little bit more technology in this one versus the original even though I don't like the way the arm looks I like the original very thin smooth aluminum Style they always had on their upper end models but I think what dial is doing is a good thing trying to get budget spinning reels out on the market for anyone to be able to get their hands on. Also if you can get the original one for the same price I think that's a decision you would have to make if you really want I think if you were able to get either one of them under $30 I think that's still a good bargain I think that this one is a little bit better maybe just because the better technology that it has and the extra ball bearings but I think that they're both pretty good I only bought these when they were on sale that being I bought the original 2020 model when it was under 30 and this version when it was under $30 but I think for $35 each one of the reals are really good for the money and you should always get name brand not the Amazon brands ... show more

Best looking small daiwa for the money. Fit on a 6.6 Light carbon fiber rod from Amazon. With 4lb test. 9oz setup for finesse. $75. Can't beat it.
