  • Requires some manual config setup effort for Raspberry OS, then works well.
To get this working on an RPI 4 takes some manual config.txt changes and some downloads and installs. The required config.txt changes are documented on the HIFIBERRY site. And I had to download and install leapfrog text editor to make the config.txt changes easier for me since Raspberry OS is a *nix system but I am a windows guy. I also had to download and install pimixer, vncreal, and of course Audacity. Pimixer so I could adjust the line in level to the ADC input, and vncreal so I could remote into the RPI from my windows machine. VNCreal server on the RPI side requires that you manually set the screen resolution for the RPI desktop so that it will create a desktop "buffer" even if you don't have an HDMI cable connected from the RPI to a monitor. The ADC hat itself plugs in perfectly to the GPIO connector, no problem there. I am digitizing from my reel to reel tapes (and will soon start ripping from my IFI phone preamp) at 24 bit 88.2khz in Audacity. Works fine and the rips sound fine. Knowing what I know now, I would buy again... ... show more

  • Missing spacers
I’ll update this review as I use the device. First, I knocked off a star because I did not receive the M4 2.5x12 spacers and screws that securely mount the HAT to the Pi. Otherwise, it arrived in perfect condition. It fit on the pins with no issues and the whole assembly fits the the case I selected. I’ll have to modify the case slightly to accommodate the 3.5mm jack on the board. The RCA connectors fit fine. ... show more

  • a practical and hassle-free audio solution for the Raspberry Pi
The performance and use of the HiFiBerry DAC+ ADC Pro have blown me away since I recently bought it. This unit's ability to be mounted easily thanks to the fact that it includes all the necessary mounting hardware is one of the features I value most. It is a practical and hassle-free audio solution because it attaches straight to the Raspberry Pi without the need for additional wires or a separate power source. ... show more

  • Packaging
pretty disappointed by the way it was shipped - there was no original packaging - what I got it in is a grey antistatic bag without any informative material or studs for mounting or anything.

  • pi based audio recorder
Have *any kind* of audio to capture digitally. Pair this with a pi 4 and and Extreme Pro SD card and audicity? Check this out. It works great! I haven't tried the audio out yet -- I am sure it is great if playback is as good as recording. recommend
