  • Balanced like everything should be
Style: Light
Sounds good and the balanced tension makes each string feel similar other than string gauge. I notice I don’t have to press harder on any strings. Probably similar to a skinny top heavy bottom gauge set.

They seem to last a bit longer than other brands I've used

  • My go-to string set
Style: Super Light
I’ve been using the 95-40 and 107-45 balanced tension D’addario strings on my 34” scale 4 string basses almost exclusively for quite a while now. They sound good, feel good, and have an average life span. Since I have several basses and am not currently gigging, I won’t speak to their longevity because I may not put as many hours on them over the course of, say, a month as others might. I got into balanced tension strings because I hate the way the D string always has way higher tension than the E and A in most normal string sets. Now, each string has a similar bendiness which I think makes the playing experience more enjoyable. I’ve never received a dead string from D’addario, either, and I’ve used their strings on probably 75% of the many basses I’ve had over the last 10+ years. ... show more

  • NICE!
Style: Super Light
I have been using these for awhile. I like that the tension is balanced as well as the tone. These are not too bright, have a nice fat low end and they last. A good bass string.

  • They are what the package says.
Style: Light
They are what the package says. I'd like them a little less bright; that will happen with a little age. I knew what to expect when buying them.
