  • Good cheap gaming rig with one caveat
Style: Video Card: GeForce GTX 1660
I really like this pre-build by Cyberpower PC. I don't mind adding some new components to my PC over time so I do have some experience on basic upgrades, but I haven't had the desire to build something from the ground up, so this was a nice overall package. It came with nice RGB lighting, which I honestly don't care much about, but it's a perk. It's my first GeForce GPU and so far I really like it, even though AMD are just fine so I have no issues with either. I'm not a cutting edge gamer, but I like good performance at a decent price, which is why this rig with a gtx1660 was great for me. Not a huge price but it still does 95% of what I would ever want it to. I have a newer monitor but it's still 1080p @ 75 hertz so nothing earthshaking there. Not sure how this system would handle 1440p @ 144 hertz or even more stressing 4k. This gives me really nice frame rates on the games I play though and they look buttery smooth. It comes with the NVME solid state hard drive, which is great for load times. It's actually one of the bigger upgrades for a computer if you still have a Sata solid state, or even worse a HDD. The ram is decent at 16gb, and the motherboard is fine, a Gigabyte B450, but it does have the wifi built in if you want that. 2 open slots to add memory down the road if needed, but it is a smaller motherboard so the graphics card kind of covers the other pci slot and some of the sata slots as well. Not sure how easy of a time you'd have adding components using those connections. I've had the system for about a week and everything is great so far, I'd say I'm 90% satisfied with the purchase, but there is one thing to know about this system. The Cpu fan that comes stock on this thing is crazy loud at times. Even under minimal load it revs up and down a lot, and at high load, forget it. Sounds like it's going to take off from your desk. The temps hold pretty good with the fan so it's not a performance issue, but it's just super loud. The case fans are not bad....they are always on because of the way they wired it. But it is a constant speed and not that loud, so I'm ok with that. But the Cpu fan was driving me crazy. For some people this might not be a deal breaker, but you will notice it. I will say I invested in a new cpu fan with a better heatsink and bigger fan. There are a lot of good fans out there, I'm not here to plug any particular brand or anything. This issue might be something you want to consider though if you don't like a loud computer, it will be an extra expense, and some work on your part for a quieter cpu cooling system. Other than that, I really enjoy my Cyberpower PC, and I look forward to gaming on it for a long time. Will update if anything changes for the worse. ... show more

  • Great Pre-Built Gaming PC for the Price | (Weird Power Button)
I have been using it for about 6 months now and its really great. I dont know much about specing out a PC so I had a friend who was and still is really busy look at this one and a few others in my price range. He said it should work, so I got it and I love it. Just as a heads up, I am not running the most intensive games on it at super high graphic settings. I mainly have been using it for modded Skyrim Special Edition. On the flip side, I am running a bunch of 2k textures and about 300 mods right now without any problem. I did try using an ENB on top of a massive amounts of 2k textures but had some bad lag. I think i was using a more intense ENB, so I may go back and pick out a different one with some more lax settings but my Skyrim was pretty nice looking and ran with no lag issues without the extreme ENB. OH! Also, important note to anyone who purchases this! I thought it came broken as the power button. It was in the back and when I flipped it on nothing happened. Called Tech support and it took awhile to get a person. There are actually 2 power switches. the obvious one in the back that you turn on and just leave on while the machine is plugged in, and then your main button you use (in the front) when you want to turn it on and off. The button is not obvious and kind of a stupid design. In the front of the tower, there is this clear plastic panel thing that runs maybe 6 to 8 niches from the top of the tower to about the middle of the tower (in the front). It has some word on and then there is a plastic strip like button thing (that does not look like a button at all) that kind of connects to the main plastic plate with the letters on it. If you push the little plastic strip down, it will light up and the PC will turn on (as long as the other obvious power button is on in the back)..... I attached a picture to show what I am talking about. ... show more

  • It's as if I built it myself
Style: Video Card: GeForce GTX 1660
I am a long time PC gamer. I have built my own systems for the last 15 years. However, I needed a budget gaming/workstation hybrid for college and I needed it very quickly. I simply did not have the time to build it myself. There is a stigma in the PC gaming community associated with buying a "prebuilt." I have never purchased a prebuilt gaming rig before, so I was nervous. After receiving my PC today and looking it over top to bottom, I am happy to say that my build was done with care. The wiring was done cleanly, all of the components were installed correctly, and she's running like a charm. I will admit other reviewers are not kidding when they say the fans are loud. I will say that this new system is running at acceptable temperatures so far, and I would rather take loud fans over a fried system. All in all, I think this is an amazing deal, and I would recommend this rig to anyone looking for a budget PC for light gaming and general multitasking. For $859.99 this is the best prebuilt computer money can buy! 11/16/2020 EDIT: I figured I'd provide an update on the status of my machine. She's held up great so far. It's been a little under two months and there have been no issues. The fan is still noisy; in fact, as I've pushed the limits of this computer to higher and higher limits, the fan has had moments where it was very loud. Imagine somewhere between a vacuum cleaner and an airplane taking off. I've also tested the built-in WiFi, and I don't think other reviewers are being fair when they say it "doesn't work." I've found the WiFi to work very well. Yes, I will always primarily use ethernet hard-wired in, but the WiFi certainly could work as the primary method to connect to the internet, especially if it is set up in a cohesive WiFi environment. ... show more
