Well, I bought 4 of these, 3 to make into bug out bags, one as an accident but now in use as my toolbag. I've got no complaints, but can think of some things which would improve it. First is two loops on the bottom. There seems to be no reason for them. Used as lashing points for a sleeping bag, the bag will just swing and unbalance you. And there are no corresponding points to secure it to have the sleeping bag attack to the bottom. So I had to improvise an attachment where the waist belt is attached. Next is the fact there is some wasted space on it, with no zipper to open a decorative section. If there was a zipper, maps and documents could be stashed in it, leaving the maps and documents safe and out of the way. Next, there is no padding on the waist belt. This makes it only suited for short stretches of time. An accessory set of pads would help. Also the waist belt is relatively short. Thankfully the waist belt for the detachable waist bag can be adapted to increase the length of the belt. Last, the secondary compartment is about half the size of the main compartment. Good for clothes and other such items. So, very good for a Bug Out Bag, not too good for long through hikes. ... show more

I think the thing I like the most about this backpack is the Molle feature. This has lots of pockets for a variety of load out options. I actually removed the hip pack and replaced it with my sleeping bag with a pair of custom straps. Worked out great. The number of Molle loops make this bag ideal for creating a quick bug out bag with supplies and materials to last up to three days. Beyond that, hunting skills will be required. The Biggest detractor is the waist belt. It is little more than just two inch nylon webbing. While you can certainly sinch it down tight enough to take the weight off your shoulders, after a few hours, it begins to dig into your waist line. Eventually gravity will take over and the weight will transfer back to your shoulders. This isn't a big deal if you are carrying a light load, but can become uncomfortable quickly if you are on a trail. The company would certainly fix this issue with the introduction of an attachable padded to attach to the already present belt. This would go a long way toward long term comfort on the trail. The main compartment is large enough to carry my tent, pillow, grill, collapsible stove, propane cylinder, and food packs, and one 9x9 camping tarp. The smaller compartment is enough to carry two or three days of clothes. The included add on pouches were enough to house an array of additional items that I take onto the trail. These include battery packs, lights, fire starters, headlamps, water purification kit and a host of other tools. Going one step further, my wife bought me an great med kit for hiking that fit perfectly on the side of the Molle attachments as well as an additional sleeve for my water bottle. The main pocket has a generous pouch for hydration bladders, as well as a small hole in the top to feed the hydration straw through. This was handy, but the bag has no internal frame, so I found that the bladder rested against my back constantly and I was always worrying about it bursting on the trail. Overall, a really good backpack. The manufacturer would do well to consider the padded belt attachment suggestion. That would propel this backpack from good to must have. I would definitely recommend for single day hikes. I still use this on my day trips, but for overnight is serves as a back up when I'm taking a friend. ... show more

This is a solid product I will start by saying it is larger and slightly better than a normal issued assault pack. You can fit a little more equipment in it and it will hold up well. It also has a detached tactical pouch/Fanny pack that you can use as well. The only thing that bothers me is that color go pattern. It is multicam but it isn’t as dark as some of the standard issue. Got this for a combination hiking/BOB. The bag is made from a heavy-duty nylon, like another gym bag I have. Overall, it's capacious, has plenty of MOLLE webbing to attach pouches, and I love the fact that it has load-lifters that clip in over the top of the bag.

Overall I like the bag, it is big and has multiple pockets, both large and small. The back does have additional attachments that can be used for extra storage. My biggest complaint with the bag is that the extra storage bags are held on with snaps. If the bag gets snagged on a branch it can cause the snaps to come undone. It does not happen everytime but it happens enough to where I find myself checking to see if I dropped anything. ... show more

Nice HD material, the zippers look to be of good quality. Closures have snap fit buckles, I have not had the opportunity to load it up and carry it using the pack straps however they appear to be of similar high quality as the rest of the bag. The MOLLE system is a nice upgrade from the ALICE system that I carried in Vietnam. Appears to be a high quality product at a very reasonable price. I finally got out to the range with this loaded up and was I disappointed. One side and the front add-on pouches kept falling off, the snaps do not hold! The front pouch a s small handgun in a nylon holster, four 7-round mags of .380 the entire thing including the pouch weighed less than 4lbs 4 oz and it would not stay on. By the time I loaded the pack into my vehicle they had both fallen off twice. Things got worse at the range. Just shows how looks are deceiving. The Molle system on these is nothing like the UDGI system I was shown by a range warden today. Since it's made by the CCP I can see why they would want components to be falling off of it. Don't waste your money, spend more and buy American. ... show more
