  • Very Bright And Clear
Style: 4-12X44
I have not monted this scope yet. Going on a .223. This scope is bright. Very clear. Eye relief seems long. If it holds zero, this is a great buy. Good basics for the price. I'll see how accurate the reticle is. If i dont edit this review, a tremendous value for what your paying.

  • Nice scope and keeps a newbie like me more accurate
I'm going to give a brief impression, but, honestly, I'm not much of a gun guy and this is only my second scope I've ever used. I mainly run a 22 Ruger for fun at a range averaging around 100 yards or so. So, I do a lot of target shooting. The scope after some fiddling (zeroing out or in?) is about 2 times better than my previous scope and I was able to put together some decent grouping after having a buddy help me get it all setup. He played with it a bit and remarked it seemed to be on par with his scope which was a big higher priced which is nice to know. So it seems to have a pretty good value at this tier. 8/10 I would recommed because a noob like me can hit paper at a 100 plus. I hope this review is helpful. ... show more

  • Great value on a decent basic scope
Style: 3-9X40
I installed this scope on my back up hunting rifle in .260 Rem. It comes with scope mounts but I already had a good set of rings on my rifle so used those. For hunting scopes I look for three things: light transmission at low light levels, will it hold zero, and will it shoot to the same point of aim throughout the zoom range. This scope checks all three of those criteria at a bargain price point. This is not a target scope – you will not want to dial in elevation and windage corrections and expect it to return to zero, but once zeroed on your rifle it will keep that zero under normal usage. I zeroed it at 225 yards, which gives me a point blank range from 0 to 250 yards (in other words, a maximum of +/- 3” throughout that range, perfect for hunting), took it to deer camp, and rechecked the zero afterwards. It had not moved. The optics are good enough to see clearly at first and last light, and it keeps the same point of aim throughout the zoom range. The zoom or power ring is a little stiff, but I expect that to get smoother with time and use. I normally set it at 4x power and only increase the zoom setting as necessary. I would say the quality and features of this scope are comparable to my Nikon Buckmaster, but not up to say, a Leopold. The .260 has mild recoil. I don’t think I would put it on a .30-’06 but it should do fine on anything up to 6.5mm. ... show more

  • Outstanding value for the price.
I opted for the strongest magnification because I wanted to stretch out a little and test the limits of various calibers...I review firearms on that video platform. Anyway, most of my long-distance rifles have mid to high dollar optics on them that I have zeroed to perfection, so I wasn't going to mount this on any of them. I do, however, have several rifles that I want to get an accuracy account of, but didn't want to buy each one their own optic, especially if I have no intention of using them often enough to justify the cost. So, I figured I would set up one scope with a quick-mount system, and use various laser bore sighters to zero in, and start testing the rifles at different distances. I set this scop up on my 51Fifty 300 Blackout upper and zeroed in at 250 yards. The 300bl had an effective range of 500 yards, so this is a good compromise. I got myself on paper at 100 yards using the laser, then walked it out to 250 in about a dozen or so shots. Once I had myself calibrated for distance, I put about 50 rounds through the rifle to see how well the scope holds zero. It held fine. The turrets have a nice audible and tactile click to them when adjusting for windage and elevation, and you don't have any of that lift to click, push to lock like you do on other scoped. Yes...locking dials on turrets is a nice thing, but if you have to adjust on the fly, or in the cold, or rain, they can take more time and dexterity than you might have. Anyway, after getting zeroed at 250, with magnification set at 8, I brought it out 50 yards at a time and increased magnification accordingly. As expected, I had to compensate for elevation, but the reticle has a fairly simple and clear etching that allows me to adjust without de-capping the turrets. The scope, after about 120 rounds held zero very well. I might also add that the scope is surprisingly light weight given the clarity and magnification levels it offers...and the quick focus dial also made for a much easier time getting on target. Oh, it is also worth noting that although the scope did come with mounting rings, I opted to use a cantilever mount from Optimum Parts Company. I try to use a one piece scope mount whenever possible as two piece ones can(and will) cause a defect in the sight picture if not perfectly aligned or torqued correctly. Now, if ONLY there was an illumination option for this scope, but for the price, it's pretty damn good as is. ... show more
