I do a lot of cutting paper and card stock for my hobbies. Normal self-healing cutting mats have a life span before they are too hacked to to be useful, so I got these as a backup for the next time I needed to replace a cutting mat. Not sure if I missed it, but these are not self healing. They are closer to some kitchen cutting mats I have for cutting meats and veggies. No padding. You can see that they are labeled Strong, Light, and Standard. This is in reference to how tacky the cutting surface is. It’s not sticky like tape backing, but more like a very thin rubbery surface. I haven’t used it enough to know how fast that tackiness wears off, but I imagine it will need wiped down periodically. Measurements on the 1”x1” grid are great. My other cutting boards are more like rough guesses and this could fully be a ruler on its own. ... show more

These have been a perfect replacement for my Cameo cutting mats. They aren’t overly thick, and line up perfectly with the original mat specifications. The stickiness has so far held up a bit better than a branded mat, the light tack lasting through at least 40 different sheets of cardstock. The size is perfect when you don’t need to use a larger mat, but need something just the right size for cardstock and other things. I don’t always like the 12x12 mats, and prefer something a little more to the shape of the media I’m using. Definitely a value for any Cameo user. ... show more

I should qualify this review: I do not own the device that these are intended to go into. What I do have, though, are a lot of projects that use fabric/leather and need cutting on a stable self-healing mat that holds the material. For this, these work amazingly. I'm able to get excellent straight cuts on leather because it holds the material tight while I use my straightedge. Best of all, the material comes right up afterwards without splitting or leaving behind a mess. So far, the stickiness has persisted and I've gotten a lot of use out of them. Previously I was putting a light coat of spray adhesive on standard cutting mats, but this works far, far better. ... show more
