I bought a Cutco knife 37 years ago. I still have it and it still works excellent. At the time I bought it, I couldn't afford anything. However, for the amount of time I have owned and used this I have gotten my money out of it over and over again. This new Cutco knife is excellent quality. I am finding things to cut up because it is so amazing I just want to use it. I think I am going to have to look at what else Cutco has and replace other knives in my "other brand" set. I love Cutco knives. They are the sharpest knives I have ever had and cut like butter. The fact that they have a lifetime warranty and they sharpen them for free helps take the sting out of the price. I am slowly adding to my kitchen knife collection and this price was the lowest I've seen.

I purchased this knife as a gift for my daughter-in-law and she loves it. It is the sharpest knife I've ever used and so handy. Perfect for chopping veggies and slicing meat very thin. Wonderful!

    • Super sharp, great knife with one flaw that may not matter to you
Knife comes out of the box soooo sharp that it will immediately cut you...and everyone within a 50 foot radius. OK, maybe not that sharp, but it is the sharpest knife I have ever used new. The steel is really hard, so it holds its edge for a long time, but is still easily sharpened on a quality stone. The ONLY problem I have with CUTCO knives it their handles. They last forever (lifetime warranty), are super durable, look great, and are comfortable...for a while. If you plan on using this knife a lot (20-180 minutes at a time), you will wishing for something more comfortable, especially if you are working hard with it. I have small/average hands and I pinch the blade between my thumb and index finger, so the inside of my index finger touches the top of the blade near the handle, the handle is small enough that you end up pushing hard on the back of the blade. The downside of these beautiful blades is that they are precisely machined, and in being so machined, the back of the blade is sharp. Now, it is not going to cut you, but it gets to be uncomfy-like after a little while. For light/occasional/display use you can't beat them. I have retired all of my CUTCO's in favor of quality, comfortable, working knives...Victorinox. ... show more
