I’m happy with this purchase overall. This mattress fits perfectly in the pop up tent I bought to do overnights at my job site. The cushion is soft and supportive. Not too firm nor do you sink to the ground on it. My only issue with it is that there are gaps where it folds. I expected this to some degree, but it really kind of feels like you’re sleeping on three couch cushions pushed together. If they didn’t shift back to “too spaced out” every time I moved it wouldn’t be so noticeable. But I’ve always been a sensitive sleeper so it might not bother others. Even if it feels like sleeping on a comfy couch, I’m pleased with it. Easy to get back into its carrying case and portable enough that I can throw it in my hatchback and you wouldn’t even know it’s there. I read a lot of reviews before going with this one and the biggest complaint for products similar to this was not being supportive or soft enough. I have to give this mattress praise because it really is super comfortable despite lying straight on the tent floor. My sleep at my overnight shift is so much better now. Recommended! ... show more

I bought this to use on my coleman cot. I bought the 31 inch. It fits perfectly. It is very comfortable, I purchased the 4 inch. I am sensitive to odors. There was no odor. The packaging was awesome. Show respect to your guests and yourself and stop with the inflatable beds. They all try and they all miss the mark. We initially purchased this folding foam mattress a year or so back (just writing a review as someone asked for a recommendation today and I had to look the product up) for our child to sleep in our room when we have overnight guests in their bed. I could sleep on this as an everyday mattress. If you’re a minimalist and/or tight on space this could be a life hack (like a Japanese futon). We have no trouble getting it back in the storage bag and I don’t recall a smell. Highly recommend. ... show more

I just spent six nights on this - I bought it because the last time I used the guest bed at my folks' place, the old saggy mattress caused my back to seize up in the morning. They wouldn't let me replace the mattress for them outright, so this was the next best thing. It's fairly firm, but at just 4" thick, don't expect it to support the way a proper mattress does. Keep in mind, it does take the full 24 hours to completely fluff out, so be patient after unwrapping it. I usually sleep on a Tuft & Needle original 10" mattress, which has been good for my back. With this 4" fold-up, I was able to avoid the back pain associated with the saggy spring mattress, though it is definitely not something I'd want to spend more than a few nights on at a time. I sleep on my back and sometimes my side, and it was mostly fine. I used it right on the floor as per the instructions, and as it's pretty thin, you do feel like you're on the floor. The carrying "case" is pretty flimsy and just barely fits around the mattress- if you aren't very careful, it will probably tear, it's basically the same sort of packaging you see with comforter sets, etc. All in all, not too bad for what it is. I think for camping or for a couple nights it's pretty decent, and the the folding option makes it easier to store (though it's still a large bulky thing when folded in three). Also, you can sort of feel where the sections meet, but it's not very noticeable or unpleasant, and I got used to it. And I didn't notice any bad chemical smells with it, which was good. ... show more
