The rock is not real. However, it is sculptured very well and you cannot tell it is not a real dragon rock. I had been disenchanted with plastic aqua scape pieces after paint flaked off a piece I had purchased at PETCO, revealing white plastic underneath. This piece is a solid color all the way through the material, so there is nothing to flake off. I bought the large rock and the size was as advertised. These are not real rocks but some kind of plastic. That being said , they look great. Not worth the money in my opinion.

From another reviewer/with my own opinions added I’ll start with the good: probably the best, most careful packing I have ever seen. Seriously above and beyond. Each piece got its own box and bubble wrap. It's extremely lightweight, looks identical to the pictures, I bought it on sale so I will be keeping. Now the bad. The rocks are fake, have VERY sharp edges, and thin feeling. My fault for not reading more carefully during what would have been a large purchase. Just another heads up as others have written- at this price point one expects real rock, not painted plastic. In all I would say if you get them on sale, don't mind sanding the sharp edges, and don't care if it's fake I would highly recommend this ... show more

I got this dragon stone knowing it wasn’t real. But I don’t think it was going to big opening under it. Well one of my male cichlids “ breading males” was stuck in there. Had to hack saw him out. He ended up dying a day later.. only had this product 2 days

It's resin and looks fantastic, no one is going to know it's not real dragon stone. Mine came packed like it was going to roll down a hill and survive, needless to say it arrived in perfect condition. I'm currently setting up a new black seal 75 gallon to replace a 17 year old tank and this is going to be quite the showpiece. ... show more
