Description

Stop checking multiple cameras! With CuddeLink images from up to 16 cameras are transmitted to 1 camera. CuddeLink is not cell service or Wi-Fi. CuddeLink is a proprietary wireless mesh network that allows the cameras to communicate with each other. The image collection camera is the HOME camera, and the transmitting cameras are the REMOTE cameras. Up to 15 Remote CuddeLink cameras can send images to 1 Home camera. Remote cameras can be deployed over hundreds or thousands of acres and their images will be transferred to the HOME camera. Instead of checking multiple cameras to retrieve images, you only need to check one. There is no monthly fee to collect images on the Home camera (a monthly fee is only incurred if you elect to use cell service) and all CuddeLink products are compatible with each other. CuddeLink allows you to check your trail cameras more often and more convenient without disturbing your hunting land. With CuddeLink, you check one, you check them all!

  • Cuddelink cell is the best tool in my QDMA tool box
I live in California but hunt a lease in Illinois. So, I can't be pulling cards and changing batteries. About a year ago, I put out my first 4 Cuddelink cameras and setup a Verizon cell account for $7.50/month. The pictures started hitting my cell phone before I landed back home. This quickly became part of my daily ritual. I transmit images once/day to preserve battery life and every morning I look forward to flipping through the previous 24 hours of trail cam pictures while I have my morning coffee. I now have 14 cameras out on 180 acres. I still run the network on the $7.50 / 750 images a month plan (30 images/day) but occasionally it runs over the limit so I'm going to have to upgrade to a bigger data plan. You can pause the plan after hunting season and then reinstate it in mid-summer as the racks start growing if you want. I have the best understanding of my resident deer population that I've ever had. I can even track individual deer as they move around the property. I finally have a real time picture of my hunting lease...2,000 miles away. Battery life is good. You get a daily report from Cuddelink regarding total images, recent images, battery status, etc (see below). The J-series cameras that run on AA batteries all lasted between 60 and 74 days and transmitted 400-500 images per camera on duracell alkaline batteries before going dead. I have since put (4) of the cameras that are on the edges of the Ag fields on solar panels. I expect that they will run forever since they have solar as a primary power source and a set of backup alkaline batteries. The other cameras can't get enough light to charge the rechargeable battery in the solar panel so those 10 cameras are on the extended battery packs that Cuddeback makes. They have been in the field since April 10 (it's July 27, so 108 days so far) and all cameras have "OK" battery status (that's the same as brand-new batteries). I have had only limited exposure to Cuddeback customer service since the cameras are all fairly new and have been functioning perfectly. However, about 4 weeks after I set it out, one of the J-series cameras had a water intrusion event that killed the camera. Cuddeback replaced it with a new camera without a hitch. Image quality is good (see below) although night images are not quite as sharp, particularly since I am mostly running the covert IR cameras. The low-glow IR does much better with night images. I wish I had bought all low-glow cameras since I really don't have to worry about camera bandits.. Cellular images are transmitted as thumbnails with much smaller file size than what is recorded on the SD card. I have two criticisms. One, the solar cable is only 2 feet long. If they would make a 10 foot cable, I could find an opening in the canopy to power nearly all the deep woods cameras with solar panels in good sunlight. I am planning to splice 10' of wire into one of the solar cables as an experiment, I'll update when I see how that goes. WARNING: This will void your warranty. My second criticism is that there is no temperature reading on the pictures. Overall, these cameras have been a game-changer for my hunting season. I am so glad I made this investment. I strongly endorse the Cuddelink system. ... show more

  • Horrible execution of a great idea- not at all ready for use yet-
I wanted to like this product so badly. I've researched and owned dozens of trail cameras (remote and regular) and this one finally seemed like it was the perfect combination of features with the exception of a smartphone app. Many products these days seem to start with the app first so that in and of itself seems like a gross oversight on Cuddeback's part but I purchased my nine camera Cuddeback system already knowing there wasn't an app so I only say that to mention it but its not part of my complaint. Everything in my review has only to do with the issues with the cameras, Cuddelink network and the company as a whole as it is right now. Again, no one was a bigger fan of this idea then I was. I ordered my eight J series cameras on Amazon and then ordered the new G series Cuddlink cell camera overnight from their website directly as that's the only place to get it now. The cameras came with outdated firmware so I downloaded the current firmware off of their website as directed thinking that it was the most current as one would expect- not so. I spent over an hour updating 9 cameras and redoing all of the settings with the outdated firmware from their support website. It seems like that should be their number one priority for their online support. Even one of the people that I spoke with on the phone said not to rely on the website as very little of it is actually accurate and up to date. I wasted almost eight hours over the weekend trying to get the cameras up and running- no luck. Once I finally re-installed the firmware emailed to me by Cuddelink, again, another hour or so, I began setting up the cameras and network. Still, no luck actually having them talk to each other- let alone send photos to my email as promised. I then wasted a few more hours with multiple calls to their support staff. While their phone support was always very nice and cordial, all we did was go step by step through all of my setting confirming that they were correct- which they were. Still nothing. I finally received one email with 20 random test photos from days ago yet there were hundreds that are on my cameras by now. In short, everything is set, programmed, updated, has perfect signal strength and SHOULD work- It doesnt. Finally the phone tech advised that I just wait and see if it works later somehow? My two main gripes are: #1) the website is an embarrassment to Cuddeback. Its full of broken tutorial video links, misinformation, old updates, holding pages, lacks pertinent information and is all around horrible. Im not expecting google engineers at cuddeback but if youre selling a premium, tech heavy product, you have to back it up on your website. That and... #2) Maybe make sure your product actually works before you sell it to a bunch of people. Aside from it not working correctly, I was informed after the purchase that, even when it does work, it can take as much as a WHOLE DAY for the remote units to send photos to the base unit and subsequently take up to another WHOLE DAY for that camera to actually email the photos to your inbox. If youre looking for fast, up to the moment photos from remote game cameras, or you plan on using this for any type of security / surveillance use, they flat out wont work- even on the fastest cell transmission setting. Lastly, the section in the included printed manual that accompanies each camera talking about being able to connect to a PC base station, well that doesnt even exist. I was told that they have plans to "Maybe work on that firmware in the future sometime" but there are no current release plans or dates for that- just like the app. In conclusion, I was so excited to get this set up and all I wanted it to do was what it promised. Nothing more. Cuddeback, its better to wait and release a beta tested product to market that everyone will lover rather than rush something to market that doesnt work only to have everyone be disappointed. Just my .02c ... show more
