  • How to make a stereo for 500$ that sounds better than beats by DRE
This amp .(cheap) 2 pioneer 8" MIDBASS speakers in backseat (mid price ranged ) 2 mid price ranged component speakers front door . All four speakers powered by this amp. Music sounds larger than freaking life. So loud you can lose your hearing . . . Also no distortion whatsoever. I just recommend buying this amp . Butbif you do . With the money you save . Spend it on better speakers . You can go cheaper with amplifiers . But not with speakers . Use the setup I have mentioned above . Out a single 8" 10" or 12" in the back With a mononamp of about 1500 or 2000 watts as well . And you'll have a sound system for 500 dollars , that I'll out against a 4000$ system any local audio shop charges. If you hear my advice . (In the past I was a sucker buying brand name amp everything) There's no need . They put out power .it's your speakers that make it sound good or not. And remember if you listen to radio Total harmonic distortion andnaol that B.S expensive Amps brag about DOES NOT MATTER! Your music input mp3's are not studio quality . Or high definition. Your FM radio is not DVD or CD quality. Your spliting hairs buying a 700 dollar 4 channel amp . This does just fine. It puts massive power to speakers . Quite surprised how well it works actually . I went from a 2000watt more expensive amp down to this 1000 watt more simple amp . And I like this sound better Your welcome . And sytem planning is KEY. Mine is . Two Nice components up front for highs . (Don't cheap out) but don't get most expensive either . Two Pioneer 8" MIDBASS in the backseat . They make a 6 and a 1/2 as well . Their Amazing neither this amp . I bridged those . And in trunk a single 12" with a 2000 watt mono amp . (Once again , didn't buy an expensive mono amp . No need Just needed to put alot of electricity through a wire . Not bake me dinner ) And the stereo for roughly 500$ sounds like A 4000$ stereo a local car audio shop would charge you for . Unebelivably crisp at all volumes low and high. no crackling at high volumes . It goes as loud as your ear can physically stand and more all while being clear . Inr commend the setup mentioned above. I planned it to be a cheap stereo that sound like it cost ten times more Better than any new stock radio in a Jew infinity of Lexus . Better than Bose steroes in new cars . Or beats by DRE systems. Enjoy ! ... show more

  • Let’s set the record straight here.
The one star reviews on this product are from people who either got a dud or who are too amateur to know how to install a speaker system. Is this amp cheap? Yes. Is it going to power a King Kong sound system? No. But it’s fantastic for budget builds. I have 2 6.5 speakers, 2 4 inch speakers and a 10 inch subwoofer in a clapped out Volkswagen. It’s gone into protection mode. I traced my wires and fixed the problems, and it’s come back to life every time. I had a soft top leak and this amp got wet. It wouldn’t turn on. It sat out in the sun for eight hours and came right back to life. This amp is a beast. It’s hardy, and if you get a good one it’s going to last. If you want to get a warranty and customer service with your purchase maybe look elsewhere? But if you want to shake your trunk a little and get a taste of how an amplified sound system hits, the crunch is your answer. Plus it comes with some decent stickers. Don’t push it too hard and it’ll be nothing but a good time. ... show more

  • Worth it
Put this in a 2010 Mazda 3 replacing the non working bose amp, works great, the mazda has a 6 speaker but I put them into this 4 channel since the 5th and 6th speakers are dash and rear pillars works way better than the bose ever did, super clear great bass very happy with the purchase, and it fit under the seat in the original amp location with slight mod of metal plate that covers it. ... show more

  • Cheap amp... lots of noise and overheats/shuts down quite a bit
After a few months of use, I'm changing this rating to 2 stars. The noise on the amp is pretty terrible and it constantly overheats and shuts down at high volumes. This is on a system with 2 320w 6x9s 2 60w midbasses and 2 45w midrange and low power tweeters. If you want something super cheap with noise for moderate volume listening, this will work with a bit of noise. UPDATE 4/2/17- I tried this out running a subwoofer and it's just such a bad amp. 1. I hooked it up in a bridge configuration and it outputs 2 ohms instead of 4. The reading on my multimeter also jumps wildly under load. Just bad. 2. Even at the lowest gain, it shuts itself off. These being said, I've replaced this with an Alpine powerpack for my regular speakers and have experienced no noise or feedback like with this amp. Going to see if I can return it somehow as it's done nothing but waste my time and money in every application I've thrown at it. ... show more

  • The highschool special
Crunch is another Chinese based company that produces low quality amps with incredibly over-hyped spec charts at low prices. A rule to follow with these is you get what you pay for. For $60, I got the PX1000.4 with the intention of powering my door speakers. (4x Rockford Fosgate Punch 6.5s). This does drive them, but does have its fair share of issues that, after a year of use, is leading to me to purchase an amp to replace this one. First off the power rating is grossly over spec'd. With only 60w of amp fusing, only lends this amp to produce around 500-550w at 2ohms. At 4ohms, you only be getting around 75w per channel. Which IS enough to power most speakers. However this leads to the second issue. Wired at 4 ohms and running this with 1 speaker occupying each channel, I can only run this amp at capacity for roughly 15 minutes before it overheats and enters protection mode. Heat dissipation is essentially non existent. Lowing the volume to around 60%, I can generally get it to stay on, but lets be honest, If I've put in money to increase volume and fidelity in my system, I don't want to be listening at 60% unless I'm trying to carry on a conversation in my vehicle. Overall, I'd grade this a "highschooler special". Its cheap, does provide power for speakers and if installed and tuned properly can serve a purpose. Just don't expect this to do any more than the bare minimum. TLDR rebranded BOSS amp (P.S. the terminals are absolutely horrible.) ... show more
