A little roomy for an ‘87 Sheraton, but it works!

I had to replace the original black case for my ‘87 Epiphone Sheraton (Samick-Made ‘Epiphone By Gibson’). Had it since ‘92, and it’s original case in all it’s road-worn glory, and despite it’s gold buckles falling apart... but sadly, the cat peed near it, or in it...or simply close enough. 😑 Time to replace. I was just going to get a straight-up replacement Black Epiphone case, but I wanted to try something completely different. This Crossrock case caught my eye. It appears to be very well made. The Good: The tweed exterior, and it’s stitching/ trim look really nice, and appear sturdy. The darkish-red plush interior is beautiful, and has padding in the appropriate locations. The gold buckles and hardware are well-placed externally, and match the gold hardware nicely on my Natural-finish Sheraton. The bad: It’s just a little bit large, vertically. (It is a case for a 335, afterall). So I was anticipating a less-than-perfect fit for my Sheraton. Easily fixed by placing a small pillow at the bottom strap button. The only other issue was that the interior STUNK of industrial-strength epoxy. It probably would’ve faded in time, but it couldn’t wait. Easy fix. I just put a few drops of Tangerine-scented essential oil on a paper towel, and left it in there for a week. Now it smells like a citrus-grove every time I open it.🍊 I don’t gig as much as I used to, so this case will likely hold up for a long time. As long as the cat stays away from it. 😈 Lastly, the storage box, in the usual spot, was roomy, but only contained 1 key for the locking buckle. 2 would’ve been a nicer touch, I think. All in all, I really like this case, and it looks to be a good match for my Sheraton.

Fits perfectly on a Gretsch 2627 with Bigsby

I recently purchased a Gretsch Streamliner 2627 guitar and needed to purchase a case for it. The Gretsch branded cases had mixed reviews and seemed to be overpriced for the quality of the case. After significant research, I rolled the dice on this case in tweed, based on the positive reviews and my experience with Amazon’s generous return policy. I was not disappointed! The case fits this guitar perfectly! The Bigsby tremolo needs to be folded for the guitar to fit properly, but that is standard operating procedure with a Bigsby. The fit is snug, but doesn’t require the addition of any extra padding, towels, etc to keep it from “flopping around” inside the case. If you have a double cutaway, semi-hollow bodied, full size Gretsch, I’d say this case will do the job for a reasonable price. I’d bet the black version of the case has the same fit, but I do not know for sure. I thought the tweed was a nice look for this style of guitar. The case seems well padded. The neck is properly supported. The clasps are solid and secure. The exterior of the case seems sturdy. No complaints. Hopefully it holds up well over time.

Good case for the money.

I like this case. It's sturdy. Plush. Capacious enough for my leg support and fretboard oil.. There are some things about this case I found disappointing. The first is that the case itself is not made of tweed. It has a hardened material that's meant to approximate the look of tweed, but it's not tweed. Still, it's probably sturdier than tweed. Tweed picks up stains and snags Everywhere. It's just part of the look. I'm looking at the case from maybe 10 feet away and it looks like tweed. The bigger issue is that the guitar I bought this case for didn't fit. Now, the guitar itself is not the most standard shape (it's an Art and Lutherie legacy concert), but according to the internal dimensions, it really should have fit. it was just a cm longer in the body, the bouts fit fine. Fortunately, I have enough guitars that I shuffled a classical guitar into this case, which was as near a perfect fit as i could ask. The A&L I put in the TKL case I had been storing my classical in. Interesting to me that the TKL case was actually built longer. Long enough to fit with ease. After all of this I considered returning the case, but that's no small task, and really the build of the case is good enough that I have come to really like using it. It all worked out.

Great Case!

I have a great little 000 guitar that I like to haul around and needed a way to protect it both at home and around town. First off, the fit of this case and my guitar (a Dirty Thirties Recording King) is like it was made for this instrument (be sure to measure before ordering). The case appears to be very well built and solid and will be more than suitable for my needs. It is well appointed with bright brass hardware and fixtures. There is also an additional clasp on the back side of the case increasing security from accidental opening. Interior is plush and cushiony (and green). The tweed finish is fabulous and adds to the aura of the guitar's allusion to the '30s. Packed well for shipping and arrived unscathed.

Great case

I just wanted to drop a quick note to let people know that this is a really great case. It is heavy and solid and lined with something plush. Best of all, it fits my Martin 12e Road Series like a glove. I was concerned about that before I bought the case but it is clearly made for 000 sized guitars. I had the gig bag that comes with the guitar and I will keep it because it has "Martin" embroiled on it. However, this case makes it much easier for me to take the guitar out without worrying about it. Next time I fly to San Diego I am actually going to take the Martin. (I usually take an Ovation or something.) Anyway,the photo above is a phone shot of my 12e in the case.

I love these tweed, vintage style hard cases by Caserack. I first bought one for my Les Paul Custom (Caserock model CRW600LTW). The fit, finish, and workmanship was outstanding and I love the arch top. The heavily padded interior holds the guitar like a glove. Not too loose. Not too tight. Just right! I was so impressed with it I ordered one of their larger “335” size cases (model CRW600SATW) to hold my vintage 1966 Mosrite 12 string electric guitar. I plan on ordering one of their matching hard-shell, tweed bass cases (model CRW600BTW) to hold and store my Jazz base in although it rarely leaves my studio. Granted they are not ATA flight case quality but neither is the price. I’ve had no problem recommending them to my friends and fellow working musicians.
