Outstanding and quirky
I read the reviews before buying this. $300 something is a lot of money for something rated less than 5 stars. However, I figured I'd try it. At a 1.82 inch blade, it's legal everywhere. If I pop this open, it give anybody pause. It does have quirks 🙃 At the start, I tried depressing the unlock button while holding it on the other side right under the button. Couldn't figure out why it wouldn't unlock. To unlock the crossbar, I have to hold the tool on either side of the rounded rectangular crossbar. If I squeeze the handle when trying to open or close this, it won't budge. I can't choke up on it. I have to always hold it near the ring on the base of the compound handle. When I first got it, it was tight. It has loosened up considerably with maybe 20 uses. Know that it automatically locks when closed. I take the safety off every time I close it. This is not a package opening knife. It is a little awkward for that. It is a tool. I handed to a sergeant at my local police station. His evaluation was that it's a tool, not a weapon. However, I'd have no problem facing down a dog or a person with this. ... show more

Excellent quality, very well built and rides in jeans pockets very well.
This thing is bada$$. There is a bit of a learning curve to open it but once you get it, you’ll be playing around this thing while your watching tv. Compact, does fit well in a jeans pocket. Quality is excellent. This was thinking outside the box for sure.

Defective
I received this damaged. One of the screws that holds the plastic panels in the handle was broken. It was very hard to deploy with one hand, just like another reviewer said you need to open it a little with your other hand to be able to deploy it. When closing it you can feel the tolerance of the metal tighten when fully closed which made it very hard to deploy. I was not satisfied, should be able to deploy with one hand as Caswell advertised. Requested a refund. ... show more

Nice!
Very well made. Cool. Thought I couldnt comfortably carry it in my pocket. I was wrong. Very easily carried. Don't know how practical carrying a tactical axe is. Im sure it would totally destroy something. But why... Totally cool though. Im glad I bought it. Good collectors piece.

Unique design!

Quality seems to be great, the lockup is tight, and it’s just very cool how it works.

Jammed closed after flipping it 3 times
On the 3rd open, would not collapse smoothly so I worked it closed, now it is jammed closed and will not manually or flip open.

Expensive but well worth the purchase as a woods guy and clear this fits in side pocket when a hatchet is just a little much for small. Have cleaned game with it
