Not a fan of the Cricut Explore 5. Some features that have been taken from the cutter. It is very fast. There are things that needed to be corrected before selling. Sorry I spent the money on this one.

This is first Cricut, and I'm really enjoying it so far. It literally comes with everything you need to get started making all sorts of projects. I'm still learning my way around the software, but it's pretty darned easy to click a few buttons and have a professional looking project. Considering all it does, I think it's a pretty compact machine; the matte and gloss soft white finish provide a modern look without contributing to visual clutter. When not in use and closed, it has a nicely streamlined appearance. I found it cut things surprising quickly, and all cuts were clean and all pieces were easy to separate. I love that the bundle comes with all the tools you need for clean application of vinyl; as a beginner, I cannot emphasize enough how easy this kit makes getting started. I have found all the materials included to be of excellent quality. Setup and installation was extremely simple; I generally hate setting up and installing new digital equipment because so often the process is a pain with one or more unanticipated hiccups. This was a seamless process with literally no problems. It was out of the box and cutting vinyl inside of an hour. I think this is a very good value considering it comes with everything you need to get going; if you've been Cricut curious as I have, I can attest that this is an ideal machine for a beginner. I'm enjoying the opportunities to create that it's brought to my household; my kiddo is a budding graphic designer and we are both looking forward to digging into all sorts of new projects this summer.

I have had the Cricut Explore 5 for about a month or two now and have been using it mainly for DIY projects on water bottles. I have made some really cool designs so far with the vinyl decals. The bundle comes with a good amount of materials and tools, which makes it a great set to get started with. I have used the self adhesive smart vinyl that came with it, and it adheres really well. It is also waterproof for hand washing with no issues after weeks on my stainless steel water bottle. Setup was a bit annoying at first because it came with a USB-C to USB-C cable and my computer does not have a USB-C port, so I had to buy an adaptor. Once I realized it has Bluetooth though, that works great. I mainly use the desktop software, which I like better, but I have also used the iPhone app and it is not too bad. The machine itself is quick and much better than the one I used about ten years ago from a different brand. It is far superior in speed and ease of use. The noise level is okay, not too loud where it becomes bothersome. The tools that come with it are great. As an amateur, having everything I need in one bundle has been really handy. The only downside is the software. It is great overall, but they constantly push you to pay for fonts, images, and extras. Everywhere you turn they are asking you to sign up or buy something, which gets really annoying. I also wish it could import PDF files. Also, if you pair both your phone and computer via Bluetooth you have to remember to disconnect one first or the machine gets confused.

I got the Cricut Explore 5 because I wanted a good cutting machine to help me with my crafting. In addition, this was a bundle that came with supplies so I could start right away. The bundle includes vinyl, iron-on samplers, a card-making set, and a project design eBook. The machine is great for making decals, cards, labels, iron-on designs, and other items. It makes creating a scrapbook a breeze. This is a great bundle for someone who is just starting to use Cricut for their projects. There is still a learning curve, but once you get used to using it, it becomes second nature. I specifically use it to create scrapbooks for my kids. You use Cricut Design Space to create your projects. The software takes a little getting used to, but once you do, you can create some really nice projects. Overall, I am happy with the Cricut bundle. It gives you some materials to start with and is a great tool for creating unique scrapbooks for your kids.

item was incomplete and did not perform correctly.It arrived with the needle floating around the bottom of the machine and missing all the products included in the listing.as for performance it cutout the designs completely and did a deep cut so I was sent a used item whose prior owner had a lot of black hair all over the unit and it did not perform as defines and correct for my uses.

Cricut Explore 5 Multicolor Essential Bundle with Smart Vinyl & Smart Iron-On Samplers, Card Making Set and 100+ Project Design eBook - DIY Cutting Machine for Decals, Cards & Custom Crafts This Cricut Explore 5 comes with a set of starter materials that allow you to start creating right out of the box. The set up simple with a CR code that links you to the set up, and another that sets you up with a great website that has tutorials, as well as project ideas ready to go. I immediately tried the quick sample of a cut vinyl that spelled out the words "CRICUT" with the black test sample vinyl. It was extremely easy, and the steps were clear as day on screen. I subsequently went to another free text design and printed that out. Again, even though it was not the super-easy test print, it was still laid out so a novice could size it, rotate it, and print it out, with very little knowledge of how the entire Cricut system works. I took a picture of this trial (added it to the outside of a paper notebook - granted, not the best place to adhere it to, but it was a raw test). This machine is a versatile crafting machine that is capable of cutting card stock, vinyl, and iron-on;s for fabric, foils to up the bling factor of cards or items, and many other items. It is not set up for wood or leather. The machine itself is very sturdy and looks to be durable. As a beginner to the Cricut system, I was very surprised as I looked through the project site at all that this machine was capable of, and of the very well laid out tutorials and projects. Because it comes with a sample pack of quite a few of the materials needed for most of these projects, you could easily jump into any one of the different crafting paths - card making and vinyl just being a few of the more commonly known Cricut uses, and begin experimenting until your own ideas take shape. As a crafter, you will know what I mean. Sometimes, you just want a "taste" of different types of projects without a full commitment to buying a whole load of materials. With these sample packs, you can get your little taste for the type of projects and let your own ideas and creativity flow from there. So, the added sample material packs are a great value in the fact that you can get ideas and hands-on experience, without the full-blown commitment to one particular use or another. In addition to the various materials you are given, you get the cutting mats and tools, as well as the transfer tape. As I stated, I did the included first test, as well as an independently generated second test, and had all the materials and tools needed included in this bundle. I can't wait to use a lot more of the materials provided and then do a deep dive into crafting my own ideas with this little machine. Great value, well-thought-out sample materials, and excellent addition of all the necessary tools and extra materials to make functioning right out of the box possible. I will mention that the website and the idea website, some of the projects come with a price tag. There is also a subscription service to the site that has more shared ideas and a community. Granted, this is not at all necessary to subscribe to or pay for anything; it is just another option that gives you access to a greater array of projects, ideas, and most likely community support. I am sure the usefulness of paid project ideas and a support community will vary by person.

Machine seems to be of great quality, as I would expect from this brand. Came with a LOT of stuff for different projects. Pricing seems to on par with other brands. ($329.99 at time of order/review). That's the good. Now the bad. *disclaimer* this is just my personal experience with the product Had one of the essential parts of the product damaged. Came with almost no instructions. The program on PC got flagged by our anti-virus/malware software. The mobile app was ok, but not very user friendly to a new user. This is *not* for a new user. We tried something simple, a greeting card for Father's Day. Instructions were very basic and look like it assumes you know what you are doing. It did do ok for what we could figure out though. My main issue with the product though? Unless you are an artist and can design your own, everything on the app/website cost money to make. Or you can pay for a monthly/yearly subscription. While I understand somewhat, considering the cost of the machine, you would not expect to have to pay even more for basic templates. Overall if you have used this type of product before, and can make your own designs, this will probably work for you just fine. If you are a brand new user to this, either look for something else, or be prepared to have to figure it out on your own.

The Cricut Explore 5 is one of the bigger Cricut machines, which allows you to work on larger projects than smaller machines like the Joy. I highly suggest checking out YouTube and checking out the many craft sites that exist if this will be your first Cricut machine. This review is alread lengthy, but it would be even longer if I was to list all the different things the Cricut can create: paper crafts, decals, drawing on paper, gift cards, decals for hats and bottles, etc. Your ability to come up with creative ideas is basically the only limiting factor with what you can do with the machine. This set has a lot of different colored materials to get you started off. It comes with cutting mat and ruler. It also has “weeding” tools, which is the term for removing the extra bits of paper from a Cricut’s cutout design. There’s no heat press like in other sets, because this one uses smart vinyl - basically vinyl with a sticky back; so no heat press needed. You won't have to buy anything extra if this will be your first machine. I do however recommend the subscription that gets you access to Cricut’s library of designs. Cricut machines basically work by talking to a computer which runs the design software. It’s pretty simple to use if you’re non-technical so don’t worry too much about the computer situation. You also don’t need an expensive computer either, a basic laptop would work fine. If you're hung up on purchasing a certain Cricut model, the smaller Joy might be a good starter machine go get, but this one is a good choice for if you plan on doing bigger designs than around a gift card’s size. Basically, the bigger the Cricut, like this one, the bigger design it can draw and cut out. That's the only difference of the Explore 5 versus the Joy. Overall, I like that this bundle focuses on the smart vinyl, which is much easier to work with for beginners. The individual accessories that comes with the bundle would normally cost double of what this bundle costs, so it’s a good deal overall.
