Works perfectly to protect surfaces from the heat of your press. Only thing I forgot to do was to protect the pad from the infusable ink I used only wooden ornaments I made. So if you don't want your pad looking like mine. Put butcher paper on top of the pad and then place your project.

My ironing board was too soft for pressing iron -ons on shirts so this helps. The bigger size may be better, though.
