  • Allows me to bring my creative visions to life!
I recently purchased this and it makes a world of difference for my work. I am a graphic designer and a Doula. I am part of a doula collective and we are always in need of new merch to get our name out into the community. I design artwork and Cricut helps me create the products: t shirts, baby onesies, bandanas. We used to spend a long time manually applying heat to each design. With this machine, it’s so much easier! I am so excited to print more baby onesies and distribute them to new mamas. I highly recommend any creative to invest in this. It will save you time, boost production, and make you more inspired to create. Thank you Cricut!!! ... show more

  • A good autopress
"I have been using a autopress from a different company for some time. They take some getting used to if you are used to a swing away or a clam shell press. They all have their pros and cons. Cricut is a trusted name and I use one of their handheld presses with great success. The unit feels well put together, it has a pretty standard pull out slide and uses limit switches to sense if the tray is pushed all the way in. The heat plate is actually 15 inches square although the corners are rounded. Having a moveable control pod is totally a preference thing, it is not inherently good or bad. For me, I like having it. You can set it on top of the machine where the controls usually are (that part of the machine does not move) and it works just like the integrated ones, the cord does not get in the way or limit you. I will say the knobs are a real improvement over repeatedly pushing an up or down arrow. The heat plate does not reach the temps set on the display. I have not had a heat press that did. This one gets a little closer than most. Check your temps and adjust the presets accordingly. They force you to create an account and download an app because it's required for ""optimal performance"" there is no information on what firmware you have or what the new firmware changes. Autopresses are not the best tool for working on thick items like wood, especially if they are pretty much smaller than the bed. I tested a 3/4 inch thick 3 1/2 inch wide piece of wood and laid it horizontally across the bed and set the pressure for 180 lbs. The board seemed like it was in the center but when the heat plate came down it tilted and shutdown the machine before it finished coming down. I placed the board vertically on the bed and reduced the pressure to 100lbs and it completed the task. It appeared to be trying to apply more pressure to the 3/4 inch board at 100 lbs than a tshirt at 220 lbs. The Cricut autopress 2 seems better than the one I have been using, it looks better, has a better user interface and I like the pod. Having the press pop up by itself when the time is up is the best feature on these type of presses and you are less likely to burn yourself when working with an autopress. This is a really small thing but it's useful to me, there are some warning labels on the front of the unit that show the exact center of the heat plate. I usually have to draw a line there to help me line up my pieces. If t shirts and tote bags is your thing or you work with kids, this machine should work well for you. It's about the right tool for the job." ... show more

  • A perfect heat press for even a novice like me (I don't even have any other crafting machines)
I just started getting into crafting and I don’t even have a cutting machine yet or a designated craft space – I am a true newbie. I have been watching other crafters with amazement for some time, and I finally decided to dive in and give it a try and start making my own t-shirts and other fabric crafts using mainly DTFs. This heat press is absolutely perfect for me because it was so easy to set up and use and doesn’t require anything else to use besides what you want to press and your creativity, especially now with the ability to order DTFs so easily! I was initially worried about how I would use a Cricut heat press when I don’t have any other machines or accounts (or any experience) – but it turns out you don’t need anything else to work this machine. 🔵I did want to try to use the mobile app because it provides specific step-by-step project instructions and setting recommendations based on the materials I am pressing (great for a novice like me), and I found that I was able to do that just by downloading the app and setting up a free account – I didn’t even have to have a cutting machine or anything else to use the app. 🔵Setup – After unboxing the heat press (and I did need my husband to help me pick it up out of the box), it was just a matter of plugging it in to an outlet and plugging in the control panel to the USB-c port on the back. It was ready to power on and use immediately after that (with or without the app) – just that simple. I was ready to press if I had had the materials (and the guts – I was a little afraid to jump in). It includes a pressing mat, so I didn’t need to provide one myself, I just needed my DTFs to arrive and some shirts, pillowcases, and totes to experiment with. It turned out I didn't need to be afraid at all! The machine walks you through what to do and then basically does it all for you. 🔵Pressing – This heat press is just so incredibly simple and intuitive for me to use. I just set the temp, time and pressure (based on either the pre-sets on the machine, the recommendations provided on the app based on my materials, or from the instructions/settings included with my DTFs and iron-ons). Then I just push in the tray, let it pre-heat, and press start (either on my phone via the app or on the control panel). The machine does everything else automatically. The first time I tried to press, I kept getting the green light flashing and a beeping and the press wouldn’t engage – I didn’t know what I was doing wrong but then realized that the tray was not fully pushed all the way in – once I fixed that I was making all my projects. I was so afraid to start, but it was so ridiculously easy. So far on my first day using it I have made a pillowcase, a wood art hanging, a canvas print, 2 tote bags and a t-shirt. Mostly I have been experimenting with DTFs that I ordered, but I also had success using a rhinestone iron-on, too. I will say that it does take a little trial and error in the beginning. All the recommendations on settings still need to be tweaked based on how each material actually responds to pressing. I had to re-press a few times until I figured out what worked best for my materials, but this machine makes that super simple to do when needed. Now I am getting the hang of it, and I love everything I have made so far. I just cannot get over how easy it is to use – even for me. I know that there are many more experienced crafters than me out there, but as someone who was afraid to get started and really had no crafting experience, just a desire to try – this heat press has been and is just amazing in its simplicity and ease to both set up and use! I can’t believe I am already making these items, and I cannot wait to try all sorts of other materials and see what I can do! Honestly it makes me look like I have been doing this for years. So even if you have just been watching this crafting craze from the sidelines and don’t have any other equipment or experience, don’t be afraid of this heat press. It is novice-user-friendly and has been a great way for me to get started. ... show more

  • I LOVE this heat press so much!!
I am extremely impressed with this heat press. If you do a lot of shirts, heat transfer vinyl, sublimation, DTF transfers, or other heat press projects, having a full size automatic press makes such a difference. The 15x15 pressing area gives you plenty of room to work with larger designs, and I love not having to manually clamp down a traditional heat press and guess whether I’m applying enough pressure. One of my favorite features is the adjustable pressure. Being able to control both the heat and pressure makes it much easier to get consistent results with different materials and projects. Once everything is positioned correctly, the machine does the pressing work for you, which is especially helpful when you’re making several items at once. It takes so much of the physical effort and inconsistency out of the process. The separate control pod is also really convenient. The controls are straightforward, and I like being able to adjust my settings without having to reach around the actual press. It heats evenly across the large surface, which is incredibly important when working with bigger designs because you don’t want certain areas adhering properly while other sections don’t. I also really appreciate the open design. There’s plenty of room to position shirts and other items on the pressing surface, and it’s much easier to make sure a design is straight before pressing. The automatic operation makes the entire process feel smoother and much less intimidating than using a large traditional heat press. The machine itself feels very substantial and well made. It is definitely a large piece of equipment, so this is something you’ll want to have a dedicated, sturdy workspace for rather than expecting to constantly move it around. For me, that larger size is worth it for the generous pressing area and convenience. I’ve used smaller heat presses before, and this is a completely different experience. With smaller presses, larger designs can require multiple presses, which means constantly repositioning the machine and trying to avoid uneven heat or visible press lines. Being able to press an entire larger design at once is so much easier and gives a much more consistent finished result. Overall, I love the combination of the 15x15 surface, adjustable heat and pressure, automatic pressing, and separate controls. It makes creating shirts and other heat-transfer projects faster, easier, and much more consistent. This is a fantastic machine for someone who crafts frequently and wants the convenience and consistency of a full-size automatic heat press. ... show more

Well, it is suppose to be able to be used with my iPhone. I cannot finish the set up because you have to check a box but that page keeps freezing and I’m unable to finish the setup. Rey disappointed in this Cricut product. First time a Cricut product has failed me.
