Description

Frameless masks are loved by many divers for their low-profile and ability to fold flat for easy carrying, even in a BC pocket. Cressi’s frameless design bonds a high-grade silicone skirt directly to a single lens for the ultimate in simplicity. The lens is made in tempered glass and certified by the CE (Communauté Européenne). The low-internal volume allows for effortless clearing and quick-adjust strap buckles are molded directly into the skirt for a flexible fit and reduced drag. It also represents an unbeatable value, with a cost roughly half that of similar masks. The Supernova Dry is one of the best dry snorkel available in the market. It has a unique Splash Guard at the top which greatly reduces the entrance of water during use on the surface. The special valve on top seals the tube as you dive, almost totally preventing the entrance of water when the snorkel is submerged. The end part has a corrugated piece that is smooth on the inner side and keeps the snorkel away from the mouth during use when scuba diving. A special water collection well, with a large elliptic valve, allows quick and easy expulsion of water. The replaceable angled mouthpiece and corrugated tube section are both made from Hypoallergenic Silicone adding comfort and function. A quick-release snorkel keeper and ergonomically contoured shape make this one great snorkel. The F1 & Supernova Dry is designed in Italy by Cressi and made in Taiwan. Marlow's friend Marc bought these; this is his review, not hers. This pink Cressi set is used by my 7 y/o daughter. It is a slightly big fit, but I did this on purpose as she will grow into it and I didn't want to buy a "childrens" size. Even though these are 'adult' sized they conform to her face very well and do not leak at all. I have the same set in black and have used them very frequently for about 5 months. I had a Sea Divers set which I got for about $35 (on Amazon) on which the mask started to leak within about 8 months due to breakage of the plastic clip which holds the lenses in place. I purchased the Cressi set because the opaque mask surround (cowl?) blocks the light and I am able to see much better without the sun reflecting off the inside of the mask, and also the one-piece lens has no 'plastic' parts that will break. The Sea Diver set was a decent started set, but this set is a really nice upgrade and it seems pretty sturdy. This mask, because it is low profile, does tend to fog more easily than the less conforming masks, but I use a 70/30 mix of baby shampoo and water (which I carry in a 1 oz bottle) to keep the fog at bay; I can usually snorkel for at least 45 minutes between applications. Also, the low profile, and single lens really does improve visibility a great deal. I don't really even notice the sides of the mask at all, where with my old two lens mask I could see plastic all over the place. ... show more

This is a great mask and dry snorkel. I am an experienced diver and have had many different masks. For the money, this one takes the cake. Low profile, great fit, and doesn't hurt my face esp at lower depths when pressure increases. I've had much more expensive masks that I can't say the same about. Note, I have a relatively small/thin face (7 1/4" hat size) if that helps anyone. My 12 yo son (also a certified diver) also has the same mask and loves it. We recently bought a mask with a camera mount on top and neither one of us could wear it, as it hurt both of our faces. I won't mention the name as Amazon may on publish my review. Also if you've never used a dry snorkel before, these things are great. You don't have to clear the snorkel when you surface because it keeps any water from entering. You also don't have to worry about wave water splashing in while swimming on the surface, so great for snorkeling. If you're wondering about what color to buy, go with black if you're on the fence. While clear masks sound good in theory (can see more) they let in too much light and can be extremely distracting to the eye due to the may reflections. In very clear bright water they can be almost painful on the eyes. They also discolor over time (yellow). I would only wear a clear mask in very dark water/low visibility. And even then I still prefer a black mask as it allows me to focus more on my given field of vision. You can't go wrong with this set.     • Love My New Snorkel Set

First of all let me start with the disclaimer that I am neither an expert nor intermediate snorkeler. In fact, this is the first snorkel I've owned that I didn't come from the water sports section in Target. I am just a guy who loves to explore the the water world whenever I go on vacation. I purchased this set for my first trip to Puerto Rico last month. It arrived on time and well packaged. The goggle lens and snorkel were also wrapped in plastic to prevent scratches. Overall this set did not disappoint. The set comes with a nice nylon and clear durable plastic long pouch that makes transport easy. I was able to put my wet and sandy snorkel inside of it and put it in my bag without it getting anything else wet or dirty. The goggles in this set were pretty comfortable to wear. The plastic lining was soft and conformed to my face tight enough to not let in any water. I've had a few snorkel sets in the past that irritated my nose area because it was too rigid. Not the case with this set. Once you put it on, it suctions to your face so tight that I didn't worry about any leaks or losing it in the rougher waves of the ocean. I also did not experience much fogging with this set. The lens are a strong plastic and I felt like I had a good area view. The head bands are soft and comfortable and easy to adjust, even while wearing the goggles. I'm an adult with a large face, I had no problems fitting this snorkel. The snorkel also works as advertised. I can dive deep without worrying about taking in hardly any water*. It has a bobble built in that stops up the whole when its submerged and won't allow you to breath in while activated. You can breath out rapid bursts if you need to though. Note that there were a few times that a little bit (maybe a teaspoon or two) of water did get in through the top. This is the reason for the star reduction since some novice snorkelers (my spouse) may have a hard time dealing with this. I've snorkeled plenty of times and I swim a lot so a little water in my lungs doesn't startle me. There is a cool little vent piece on the bottom of the snorkel that allows you to blow a strong bursts like a whale to clear it any water that does get in. The mouth piece on the snorkel is pretty comfortable as well. It is soft and did not give me mouth fatigue. Some other (cheaper) ones i've owned in the past would irritate the corners of my mouth because of the harder plastic and made my jaws tired, but not this one. Another cool feature of this snorkel is that it has a quick connect clip that attaches to the google band. It helps keep the snorkel up-right when you are in the water, keeps the mouthpiece in the correct position so its not irritating your mouth and it keeps the set together when you take it off. All in all, I would definitely recommend this set to anyone. I believe that it is great for those who just want to get into snorkeling without spending too much money. I think this one will last me for a long time and will continue work perfectly for the amount of snorkeling that I do. ... show more
