Silicone is soft and flexible. Comfortable to use, nice field of vision and very well made. The snorkel will shut off and keep most of the water out of the snorkel. Simply exhale hard and the snorkel clears itself easily.

I have a smaller face, and this fit perfectly - no fogging or leaking during a week of snorkeling every morning on Maui. I find that the dual lens style mask always works better for me.
