  • Must have tool set for any house or auto, at a great price.
Style: 180 Piece
If you went to the big box store and started buying the hand tools you think you might need for the house or car, you will spend twice as much for those tools and a tool box as you just would buying this set. And you will have twice as many tools in this set. These are all top quality Crescent tools and they will last you a lifetime. The set is compact enough to take with you to the job site and have any tool you might need right there at arms length. I actually have two sets, one for the car and one for the house. This is a must have tool set for any "do it your selfer!" Save the grief and get one or two. You will not go wrong on this investment in good tools. ... show more

  • Underrated
Style: 180 Piece
I bought this tool box in 2017, since then I have done housework, tech assembly and restored two cars, and I haven't lost anything yet, including the 10mm (truly incredible). Granted, the metal on the channel locks has a little surface rust and the handles are worn. As far as a kit to take everywhere, that's thin, durable and is a start of a tool collection? I cannot rate it highly enough. in fact, I bought my second one yesterday for my little brother so he can start gathering tools. In a comparison, I have a friends with both the DeWalt kit and a Stanley kit, and while the DeWalt has more sockets and the Stanley tools are anodized, this kit wins on shear variety of tools for me. You can take it wherever you want and you can solve most jobs with the tools you have on hand. For me, the fact that every socket and tool has a place, makes it so handy to know where everything is, making it leagues better than grandad's box of misc things. Granted. You should always supplement what you don't have. It is weird that anyone would describe a review for a tool collection as rave, but given I've had this kit this long, I've done so much with it and it's never let me down? It's the best thing I've bought on this website hands down. ... show more

  • Decent little tool kit
Style: 150 Piece
I didn't buy a new set. I bought a used returned set for $66. Description said cosmetic damage or damaged packaging and that is exactly what I received. Handle is cracked, but all the pieces were still there and in like new condition. I am not worried about the handle. I only bought this set to throw in pantry next to garage to use when I don't feel like unlocking my big tool boxes. I bought crescent because I own a smaller set and have used other kits through the years at my job as a machinist. My boss has bought crescent because they are affordable and he is cheap. We don't baby these tools and they hold up very well for the money. For the price and my needs I definetly recommend buying a used or returned set. Now if I was gifting this to my son I would buy new and be upset if it showed up like this. ... show more

  • Great organization
Style: 180 Piece
The good: The tools themselves are great. I love the organization, how there is a slot cut out for each individual piece. Great beginner tool set, has most of what you will need for basic DIY projects. I love the handle so it is easy to travel with. The bad: If you travel with this tool box, you are most likely going to have some loose pieces when you open it up. The slots that are cut out for each piece don’t have the most secure snap into place. Sometimes this can make it hard to “snap” a piece back into its holder, and it doesn’t always have a tight secure hold on it. Overall, the quality and variety of tools outweighs the minor annoyances with this box. I would definitely buy it again. ... show more

  • Good set of basic tools for a homeowner
Style: 180 Piece
Bought these for myself as I wanted some nicer quality cheap tools to have at home for repairing stuff. Comes with a good assortment of tools without too much fluff, aside from the allen wrenches and driver bits. Pretty much put it to use ASAP to fix up my dryer and replace the belt and motor pulley. They seem like nice quality and price was pretty good during Prime Day. Not nearly as cheap as some of the cheaper kits, but I feel like Crescent is a much more reputable brand than a random unheard of brand. ... show more

  • Cheap But Complete
Style: 180 Piece
I bought this to keep in my car, so I can leave my nicer tools in the garage. I purchased this set on sale for like 60% off, which is just about the only price point I would recommend buying this at. Screwdrivers feel cheap, as do the diagonal cut pliers. Sockets all look nice, as do the wrenches and ratchet wrenches. My only real issue is with the box, specifically the hinges. The plastic the box is made out of actually seems pretty tough, capable of being dropped or taking a roll in the trunk. The hinges suck though. I can’t speak to the durability (I’ve only owned it for about a week now), but they seem brittle and like they won’t last too long. There are two on the bottom and two on the top. The two on top are in a very awkward place, where you have to jam your fingers under the handle and really tug at them. You feel like you’re going to break them. But idk, they haven’t broken yet. Cheap but complete, enough to be used to do some car work on the go, but nothing to show off. 3.5 stars UPDATE: few months of banging around in my trunk and those hinges are still in fine condition. Tougher than they look ... show more

  • Every Tool You Need
Style: 180 Piece
Well, just about every tool you're likely to need. You may not be able to overhaul an engine with it, but you'll be close! Pretty handy tool kit. I just wish the adjustable (crescent) wrench were bigger. And the two pliers tend to fall out in any position but vertical. That would be the diagonals, and the needle nose ones. I haven't come close to using all the tools yet, but they seem durable enough. ... show more

  • surprisingly good set
Style: 180 Piece
I wasn't expecting this set to be as good as it was. It's pretty heavy. Only thing I don't like is the snaps on the case. That are infuriating. They will pop off, get jammed between the lid and the box.
