This book was an amazing read! It is very profound on explaining this man’s journey to end poverty in a community that literally had no way out. It discusses unimaginable struggles that Honduras a third world country faces but he also shines light on how impactful one person and a strong community can be to change those struggles into victories. Shin's book is an incredible memoir detailing his experience starting One Thousand Schools (formerly Students Helping Honduras) as a college student at Mary Washington, and growing the organization to be what it is today. So many books in the philanthropy and international development spaces are inspiring, but I haven't come across another one with a founder that comes from humble beginnings.
