  • Massive upgrade to most stock hotends.
Style: A- Sprite Extruder Pro Kit
I used this kit to upgrade a hotend on an Ender 5 Pro. I received a bad cable but the seller was quick to remedy the problem. Things of note if upgrading an Ender 5 - This is not for the faint of heart. 1. The original carriage assembly must be trimmed and merged with the included carriage. (The "ears" for the timing belt are located side-side instead of top-bottom) This involves cutting off the ears on the new carraige, trimming the old, and merging the two. The included bolts are long enough to handle the additional thickness. 2. The X-stop needs to be moved further backwards to compensate for the rather extreme offset difference from the original extruder head assembly. I trimmed the OEM bracket and redrilled the hole to accomplish this; there may be options available on the common 3d print repositories to accomplish this without fabrication. 3. The cooling fan and its shroud will hit the front-most aluminum extrusion of the frame. I lowered that piece by about 1" using some 90 degree angle brackets commonly available on Amazon. It prints fine with the piece simply removed, YMMV. 4. You'll need to mix up your own firmware and set offsets if you want to use CRTouch. I set the probe to nozzle offset at -30, -40mm offset, and utilized 3 point leveling with a 30mm buffer on the table and it worked flawlessly first try. You will also need to set extruder motor steps in the firmware as detailed in the documentation provided with the extruder. Settings - As I switched from a bowden to direct drive, settings were obviously different. The first prints I made were excellent, but needed a little fine tuning to prevent over-extrusion "zits". The settings I've found work well to start with (Simplify3D) Retraction Distance - 0.70mm Retraction Speed - 40mm/sec Coasting Distance - 0.40mm Overall I'm extremely impressed with this head; the cooling fan works well enough to nearly print sideways without support, and the temperatures at the nozzle are the most stable i've ever seen after a lightning-quick heating time. Very well done, Creality. ... show more

  • The best extruder for most printers
Style: A- Sprite Extruder Pro Kit
The media could not be loaded. If your printer has a 2020 extrusion for the gantry, then this is the extruder for you. This is my second Sprite Pro upgrade kit I have bought and this is probably the best extruder I have used for most printers and people. Installing this is super simple. Creality may only have a few of their machines listed as compatible, but with very little effort this can work on pretty much every machine with a 2020 gantry. The first one I installed, I put on a Sunlu S8. It took a few little tweaks to get it to work, but it was very simple. The only thing I really had to do was replace the bolts that hold the bed down with some longer ones and use a spacer to lift the bed up an extra 6mm. 4 bolts, 18min in TinkerCAD, and a little bit of PETG and I turned my S8 into a great machine. The long cable running from the motherboard to the breakout board is fantastic! It has ferrules everywhere it needs ferrules. All of the connections are well labeled. Once you have this installed cable management is super clean. Something else that sits this particular Sprite Pro extruder kit apart from the others is the included CRTouch/BLTouch cable. Not all the kits come with this cable, I highly recommend getting a kit that does come with this cable or you will have to run a second cable to the motherboard. As you can see from the included printed, they are fantastic. Those were my first two prints with this extruder. No calibration or slicer tuning, I simply took the stock Ender 3 S1 profile from Prusa Slicer and made the bed bigger. I have a feeling that with a little bit of tuning this extruder will perform even better. I am already eyeing a 3rd and 4th one of these extruders. I simply love this kit! ... show more

  • New challenge
Style: A- Sprite Extruder Pro Kit
My Ender 3 was not being used, prints were just ok, the sprite changed speed and quality of my prints so I could say it was a game changer and don’t know why I didn’t do this before. I have a new 3d printer.

  • Sprite pro heater and thermistor issues
Style: A- Sprite Extruder Pro Kit
I have to say I battled with this extruder hotend with klipper. I tried for a week straight to get the hotend to pid tune and it would shut down klipper. I figured maybe it was a bad thermistor or maybe even the heater so I purchased a new one. Installed same thing. It would heat fast until it got to about 140c and then slow down dramatically until klipper shutdown. I was questioning my psu but figured I would try the ceramic hotend upgrade. Installed and bam! Pid tuned without an issue fast and now finally getting a solid print out of the unit. Not sure if I got a bad batch of heaters and thermistors but stock sprite pro hotend is junk. I’m impressed so far with the ceramic hotend. ... show more

  • Works Great!
Style: A- Sprite Extruder Pro Kit
Although the directions were not very clear, it was not that difficult to install. The wiring was labeled clearly so it was not confusing connecting everything to the main board. The additional bolts that were provided are required if you're using the BL Touch or the CR Touch otherwise, when it goes to level the bed, the extruder will hit the frame on the right side. The main issue I had is that I am using the CR Touch and where they have the mount for this, it brings it too far forward. So when it goes to level the bed, it literally misses the first row. I had to design and print a new mount that will locate the CR Touch more in line with the nozzle so that it would be able to hit all nine spots on the bed when leveling. If anyone needs the CR Touch mount, I will be happy to provide it. With regards to the firmware, I did not have to upgrade the firmware due to the new mount that I designed. Besides, they only provide a link for the 4.2.2 firmware whereas I have the 4.2.7. Once installed, set your E-Steps to 424.9 and then calibrate from there, I actually had to increase my E-Steps to 433.5. Also, be sure to adjust your Z Offset as well if using the CR Touch, it will be different. I'm totally happy with this upgrade. ... show more
