  • Better than glass, IMO
I bought a glass build surface awhile back, and effed it up because my nozzle was set too low. If the spongy surface on the glass bed is scratched, it ruins it. So I got one of these magnetic ones, and it's a big improvement over both the glass and stock build plates. One thing I noticed is that it's very difficult to remove prints if you set the print bed temp. at 60 degrees, but prints come right off if you set it at 50 degrees C or below very easily. Another thing to note is that both of the pieces—the magnet and print bed—are both made up of smaller, rectangular magnets; neither is made of just metal. Because the magnets on both sides are rectangular, you can run into an issue where you stick the magnet down to the print bed, and go to lay the top sheet on it, and it won't line up exactly with your 3D print bed surface. There will be like an extra 1/4" of either underhang or overhang on the left or right. But the top surface itself is larger than the stock build plate, so you can also cut it to size if you prefer. I ran into the issue where if I let the top surface overhang on the right, it bumps against the power supply enclosure. So, I leave it with like 1/4" overhang on the left side of the plate, no big deal. It's so much better than holding down your print surface with binder clips. And the magnet is extremely flexible. Prints tend to peel right off, so long as you keep the bed temp. at 50 degrees C. I will say that they're near impossible to peel off if the bed is set at 60 degrees, and I can't emphasize this difference enough. ... show more

  • Excellent customer service!!
UPDATED REVIEW!! So after expressing my disappointment with my purchase comgrow contacted me immediately and asked what they could do to make it better. They actually sent me a magnetic steel spring bed plate for free! And it works great! This is a company that truly does care about their customers. They went above and beyond to make sure I was happy and satisfied with how my hard earned money was spent. I will be sure to put comgrow in the search bar when looking for my 3D printing needs! PLA stuck really bad. Got kinked when I tried bending it to remove my prints and caused “bumps” on the sheet itself. The mail in the coffin was when I tried to use a scraper to remove a print and a chunk of the sheet came off! This was all within three days of using it. Get a glass table instead. ... show more

  • Love this plate
Before I bought this item I have to tell you that I bought a used Ender 3. After finding a broken extruder (plastic one that is known to break), I had trouble printing my first 3d object (pencil case). I saw issues with the start of the part not adhering very well to the plate. I realized the plate needed cleaning so I cleaned it with isopropyl alcohol. After I cleaned the plate I noticed deep gouges like someone didn't calibrate it before. So, I bought the sticker sheets as they seemed like a pretty good price. Well, they didn't work very well at all no matter what I did. I changed the extruder as it is a plastic one and known to break after a while. I bought a metal one to change out the plastic one. Also, I notice the feed gear was pretty worn so I changed that as well. I still had issues with adhesion. I read about the magnetic plate and it had fantastic reviews so I purchased that. Right away, my 3d object had no problem at all. The filament stuck to the plate and the build of the 3d object was perfect! I highly recommend the magnetic plate as well. It's very easy to install. ... show more

  • Stays in place well and bends for easy removal of prints
This is a great improvement over the stock print bed ,I HIGHLY recommend. First thing is that you can ditch the bullclips that are used to hold the original still because the magnetic adhesion is nice and strong, but make sure you're sticking the magnetic bottom in the right direction because it is polarized and only sticks in the proper orientation. Also be aware that you'll be sticking the bottom surface directly to the hotbed, so if you need to replace it or do any work that involves removing it, you'll need to peel the magnetic bottom up. As far as I can tell, the only improvement they can make to this piece would be to make holes where the screws go through, but that would probably throw off the level in those spots, but I've never gotten a completely level heatbed over the entire surface from the beginning. There's always high/low spots. As far as removing the prints- you need to have some patience and wait for the print to cool, then you can bend the surface enough that it makes peeling it off the bed FAR easier that the original print surface. Also, be ready to adjust your Z step motor because your height may be off enough that the leveling knobs don't do it. ... show more

  • Great fit for my Ender 3 pro
First off, installation was a total breeze. Just slap this thing on your heated bed, and it sticks right in place, thanks to the magnetic wizardry. No more dealing with glues or tapes. And when your prints are done, it's easy to remove. No more wrestling to get stuff off the bed! But the real magic happens during the prints. This surface is super flat and smooth, which means your prints adhere perfectly. And once they're done, they pop right off without any fuss. No more chipped or damaged prints, which used to be a headache. The size is 235x235mm, so it fits quite a few 3D printers, making it super versatile. I've been throwing all sorts of projects at it, and it's holding up like a champ. Even after a bunch of use, there's no sign of wear and tear. But here's the kicker – the print quality. It's been a night-and-day difference since I started using this magnetic bed cover. The adhesion is solid, and the finish is just top-notch. My prints have never looked better. ... show more

  • Absolutely perfect
Anyone having problems with adhesion needs to clean with alcohol once in a while, change their print settings or adjust their bed level. This thing is perfect. It's an identical coating to the surface coating that came with my Ender 3, just flexible. The magnetic surface is plenty strong, there's sero reason it should be moving. I'm printing at 200/60 with zero problems with adhesion or removal. Installation is a breeze and removal takes less than a second. 100% would buy again. ... show more
