  • An essential component of your 3D printing rig
Style: Filament Dry Box Pro
The Creality Dry Box 2.0 is a upgraded version with better features. It is designed to take the moisture out of your filament so that it can perform its best on 3D print jobs. You can adjust the temperature to fit the filament type as well as how long you want to run the dryer up to a max of 24 hrs. The instruction sheet provides recommended temperature and drying times for different types of filament material. It also has an active readout of the current humidity percentage. 15% is the goal of the dry box. A recent reviewer left a poor rating and pointed out a few "issues". Its obvious the reviewer never purchased the unit and doesn't know how it operates and is just commenting off the seat of his pants on what he sees in the listing. The dry box circulates hot air into and out of the box. The moisture content will rise if the box is turned off and left unattended. But the expectation would be that once you've dried up the filament, you will place it into a vacuum sealed bag. There should be no expectation to run the dry box indefinitely to keep the filament dry, although that is feasible if you so choose. You would need to monitor throughout the day since it will auto shut off after the timer is done. To address the feeder hole "issue", you should attach the dry box directly to the feed of the 3D printer with PTFE Teflon tubing you can purchase on amazon. I've attached a few pics on how i accomplished this. It is pretty important to add this minor feature and you do not need to modify the current hole from the Dry box as its dimensions fit perfectly. The box is then in direct feed into the 3D printer and the filament rides effortlessly out of the box without any risk of kinking. I always run the dry box while I'm doing my print jobs. It heats the filament up to 50 degrees for PLA and maintains the very low moisture content necessary for good precise prints. It can achieve 15% within 10 minutes or less. I set the timer to as long as it takes for the job to complete, up to a maximum of 24 hrs. If your print job will take more than 24 hrs, then you will need to do some monitoring and reset the dry box drying time. I have left filament out in open air for a few days, not thinking it would matter. But the extrusion is very shaky and extrusion lines end up skipping sporadically with moist filament. I would never run my Creality K1 printers without running the dry box. In my opinion, its essential to good prints and to avoid wasting filament on poor print jobs. There are other dry boxes around, but i personally feel, if you have a Creality 3D printer, match it up with its little dry box brother. You won't regret. ... show more

  • Bags are Nice, Pump Not so Much
Style: Filament Vacuum Storage
I change filament quite often, and I was looking for more bags to quickly put a spool in a vacuum instead of storing them in a more permanent place while I go back and forth. The bags themselves are very nice. The plastic is thick and they don't deform even after repeated use. I also like the threaded vacuum port. The seal is nice and tight and I haven't seen any of them allowing air to enter. The pump is so-so. I have a similar but very cheap pump that runs on 3xAAA batteries that performs much better. This Creality pump is much slower and doesn't create as strong of a final vacuum. My cheap pump evacuates the air in the bag at least 2x faster, and if I let it run for too long, it will deform the spool. If i use this one until it stops pulling out more air and attach the cheap pump, it will pull out more air that the Creality pump couldn't get. The speed difference isn't that important to me, and I suppose that this one might be safer to use. Both will run until you turn them off, and if you left the cheap one running and get distracted, you could end up with a very warped spool. This one doesn't create enough of a vacuum to bend the sides of the spools. This one has a rechargeable battery, which is more convenient than needing to swap batteries. The pump also comes with some inflater attachments. You can insert them into the pump's exhaust port on the bottom next to vacuum pump and use it as a very small portable inflator. This comes with bags of desiccant to add to your spools if you want to store them long-term, but for some reason, they're shipped loose in the box instead of in a sealed plastic bag. I don't know how saturated they are or how long they've been sitting in a box. I might pop them in the microwave for a while and store them in one of the spare bags until I need them. This isn't an expressive kit, and the bags are higher quality than some other filament storage bags that I've used. The pump works, and if I didn't have one that was more powerful, I would probably be happy with this one. In my opinion, the kit is worth the cost for the bags alone. ... show more

  • overall just ok
Style: Filament Storage Box
it works so that's why I kept it but after ordering I found out most other filament dryers have temperature selection and longer run times, this one only has 1 heat setting of 50c and a max run time of 8 hours

  • Outstanding filament dryer
Style: Filament Storage Box
This dryer by Creality does it'd job and does it well. I normally print with PLA and PLA+ for cost and somewhat durable prints, so I do not have too many issues with damp filament. But, I use this anyways on a color that perhaps I haven't used in awhile. Generally, I have a humidifier running in the winter time so this will be a great way to make sure the filament is always dry and prepped for a print. Considering it works so well I normally place the next color in there while the other print is running and it is good to go afterwards. I just wish they made these in 2,3, and even 4-spool options as that would be amazing. Get it if you experience the failures and symptoms of damp filament...you will not regret it. ... show more
